I came back at night after a long and stressful day at work to find out the sheet crawling with bed bugs for over a week now had not been changed and a pike of dirty towels left scattered on the floor . Very nice city but terrible service and if you book online through a third party , they will give you the dirty room with bed bugs and most things are not working or broken or in poor condition. And if you have already paid to the third party, they still charge your credit card and lie to you that they just need it for a hold, don't believe them cause they never reversed it. Dumbest hotel policy ever, you can't check in unless you're entire party is there with IDs. Then they ask why you're staying here? None of your damn business, Troy! And why do you need everyone's ID? I booked, thinking you cannot go wrong..it's Brea. When I parked, my car was the nicest one in the lot; that should have been a red flag. This place reminded me of a hotel that shelters homeless. It is disgusting. I thought maybe the room is better, I was wrong. It smelled like se* and cigarettes. The tub, disgusting. I stayed for 5 minutes and asked for a cancellation. I was cheated from the first day. I bought from 3rd party online FOR Extended Stay America. They acted like that wasn't allowed. My daily charge was to be $90 plus $9 tax. Instead I was charged $115 daily. I stayed at Castaway Motel (twice), RedRoof Motel, and another in Santa Ana. THEY ALL allowed me to find the best deal online for their facility, and then charged me that amount. They were honorable. Extended Stay America is anything but honorable or respectable. We're moving and wanted to stay here with our two dogs. Stayed in numerous hotels nationally and never encountered conditions like these. First I waited at front counter for over 5 minutes waiting for a clerk to show up. They had a phone to use to reach someone but no one answered. Called the corporate number and it was 20 questions just trying to get someone to man counter. Went to our room and found this. Carpeting was stained, couch was chewed on and torn up. We would have more pictures but couldn't get past front door. Hotel did not look like something that a company would want their people staying in. This place is a filthy, shabby, noisy dump with incompetent desk clerks and a messed-up reservation system. We booked a room on an upper floor and requested a quiet location. We got a confirmation number. When we arrived at the hotel, the clerk took her time acknowledging our presence. She claimed we hadn't reserved a quiet room on the 2nd floor. Instead, she gave us a handicap-accessible room on the 1st floor that opened to the rear parking lot. (We don't need such a room and hated to deprive someone who does, but that was the only room available.) When we walked into the room, we found clumps of dirt on the carpet. The microwave was rusted and had dried food on it. There was dried gum on a nearby counter. The bedsheets had obviously not been changed--they were rumpled and had makeup stains. We called the front desk to complain. A woman identifying herself as the manager said, in so many words, that dirty sheets were no big deal. We decided to seek lodging elsewhere. Before we left, my spouse needed to use the bathroom. When he lifted the toilet lid, a cockroach ran out and scampered onto the floor. We left immediately. Later that night, we returned to pick up something we'd left behind. When we were led to the room, there was a loud party going on in the parking lot outside that room. And the room still hadn't been cleaned. read more

The front check-in lady was really friendly and kind. However, this motel is so dirty. The room was run down, outdated, and dirty. Floors were covered in grime. Paint was coming off the walls. This place is a bummer. First off - we show up to check in, and nobody was at the lobby counter. And not for a moment, it was about 15 minutes before she showed up. Already in a rush, I didn't bother making an issue of it. Up to the room to change and off to the Christmas party. The room is small and dingy, smells very strongly of unloved old people (don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about), and I would be surprised if there was a single item in the room that was purchased in the last decade. Some of lights didn't work, which was particularly annoying. I tried to call down to get a different room but again, front desk staff was absent (although it probably wouldn't have mattered - I doubt they have any much better than the one I got). We arrived back at the room around 12, considered getting a room elsewhere, but ultimately decided to stay (we had been drinking). This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. We reserved and pre paid for 3 nights over the Christmas holiday. Christmas night/#3, we get back and our card didn't work to enter our room. Front desk didn't know we had a reservation for 3 nights so they locked us out and told us "there is nothing I can do". Duh.... Check your reservation system! Plus our belongings were still in the room. Idiot at front desk doesn't know how to deal with a customer issue. He then tried to say our last night was canceled and we will see the refund in 5 days on the credit card. So at 12:30 am...When it's 43 degrees outside we should just go sleep in the car? The room is vacant. Fix the reservation and put us in the room. Place is outdated, hard bed, not very clean, housekeeping never straightened up room, sketchy clientele but that would not warrant a sucky review. Locking us out when we are reserved for the night and then not immediately resolving the issue...This guarantees a bad review and a letter to corporate office tomorrow. After my bf demanding the issue be resolved tonight, the clerk finally called someone who knew how to fix the issue. It's not like they double booked the room... Simply bad customer service. If I could give zero stars I would. I made reservations for this hotel almost two months in advance for my father who would be in town visiting family. I called extended stay America a few days before the reservation to ask how I could pay on behalf of my father for his stay. I was directed to the extended stay America website where I was directed to fill out a credit card authorization to pay for his room and incidentals and submitted it to the hotel he would be staying at. When he arrived for his reservation tonight he was turned away by the hotel because the hotel allegedly had no rooms. The desk clerk stated it was due to overbooking by hotels.com. Regardless of the fact that our reservation was made long in advance and I had filled out the credit card authorization, the hotel said there was nothing they could do. While my father was there he witnessed other customers being turned away at the hotel with the same issue. They had reservations but the hotel overbooked. This is completely unacceptable. read more

Stayed here in late June 2021 and the staff is friendly however as I was getting settled in you first need to remember to ask for all the cooking utensils I mean everything and when it comes make sure to check it out. Check and make sure the TV works because in this situation it didn't and it was not because of the remote control. Then make sure the drains are not clogged mine was in the Bathroom. Then make sure to check the cabinets in the kitchen as I had dead flys in them. Oh and keep In mind for those who do not want a hotel with exterior doors to your room. This location is just that so you do get lots of traffic noise. However keep in mind there is a Walmart and a Albertsons just down the street of Imperial Highway West of here so plenty of places to buy groceries as well as restaurants and is just a little over a mile to the Brea Mall further West from Walmart. read more

Do not stay here if you want to be treated as a guest or if you expect a clean room. Due to circumstances in my home I've had to stay at a hotel. My first week here they put me on the third floor furthest from the elevator, I'm handicapped. When I went down to talk to them about it Carla at the front desk informed me there were no rooms available. But when I checked with esa.com there were regardless to say April said there's just no clean rooms I said I would be happy to clean a room she said no. Well April is the manager and I know in my family's hotels since that's what they do they develop hotels that if there was no housekeeping and a gas needed something it was the manager's duty. The fact that they did not accommodate my handicap that's big issue it's a legal issue it's a law. But I dealt with it and the second week they moved me down to the first floor. Where I have been for 4 weeks now. In those four weeks my room has not been cleaned one single time I've asked almost daily for housekeeping but I still have none so I had to bring my own cleaning supplies as well as toilet cleaner and a toilet brush. I have had to ask for towels which at times I don't get for 2 days because Carla is too busy. The other day I ended up in the ER and didn't get back to the hotel until 4:00 a.m. in the morning I could not wait to go to bed I pulled back the sheets and they were bugs in my bed that morning I went down to the front desk obviously I couldn't sleep so I went down to the front desk and lovely Carla tells me I had my sheets changed last week therefore they can't change my sheets excuse me there's bugs I said then change my room. She smiled and she said the only room we have is on the third floor knowing that I'm a handicap. But she did take note that I had heels on that day well it's no joke half the time I can't walk half time I can and when I can walk you damn right I put on heels but it's nobody's business I don't care who what people think bottom line is it's real. So she told me I could change my own sheets. The fact that I pay $880 a week to stay in this crack house of a hotel when there are junkies couples with two cats that paid $500 a week. That's discrimination 100% because they were to change my rates to it long term and I guess that was the rate they decided to give me. My point with you is this don't expect to come here and be treated with any respect courtesy or as a guest like normal hotels do because you don't get that. You don't get clean sheets you don't get clean towels and you don't get a clean room. Today after a long day I got back and there was a note on my door and this is right after I've complained about the bed bugs that stated I smoked in my room and I I violated hotel policies. The problem is I didn't smoke in my room I don't smoke indoors so that was total b*******. I heard Carla earlier talking to April outside how I vape so I must be smoking in my room. So they charged me they went into my room and decided it was a well check I will check is when you send an officer over to make sure somebody is okay. April the manager and Carla the front desk had no right to go into my room at all but they did and they went through my stuff. I don't do drugs I'm not a crackhead I'm going to tweaker I'm not a junkie but they should treat me like I'm beneath that you don't want to stay here unless you expect to be around unruly people the staff is absolutely horrifying the rooms are are dirty and most of them don't even have proper air conditioner or working refrigerators. They charge you or they say they charge one rate but they charge another I don't recommend this hotel to anyone at all tomorrow I will be reporting this all to their corporate office and I will be filing discrimination on them it was an absolute horrible stay. Do NOT stay here! We called to make a reservation about a month and a half out (August 14th). The reservation was for 4 adults one room and 2 double beds. We were coming for a wedding in the area and the room was apart of a block of rooms supposedly. When we came to check in after being at Disneyland all day we were tired and ready for bed. When we got in the room there was only ONE bed!? I asked the front desk guy what happened and showed him the email confirmation for TWO beds. He rudely said your room has a couch with a pull out bed. I told him this is not what I want and asked for a room that had two bed. He said there weren't any rooms. Keep in mind my group had all been up since 4am and it's now close to 11pm. I asked to pay for only one bed since that's what we were getting basically. He said "No I can't do anything like that. Luckily, my fiancé was able to find us a room in a near by hotel that had what we wanted. They next day I called the hotel to speak with the manager who "wasn't it". I checked to make sure my money would be returned. The rep. I talked to named Crystal who apologized for how we were treated so badly. She said that the room we had reserved "had a plumbing issue" and that is why is wasn't available. I told her it would have been nice to know our reservation had been changed so we could have planned to find another room ahead of time or know that to of the adults would essentially be sleeping on the floor "pull out bed". We arrived on Friday night and a very young manager appeared and checked us in. While we were checking in, several 'rednecks' with cases of beer arrived and went up the elevator. As we brought our car around to load luggage, we saw a 40ish woman who appeared to be either drunk or high and laughing and her sidekick younger looking boyfriend (he didn't appear to be drunk or high) in cholo shorts, sweatshirt, tennies walking and laughing along-side her as she carried a tree branch feigning she was blind and hitting hotel room doors and windows with the stick and her hands (pounding on the doors). We arrived in our room and it was a trashy looking room. VERY old everything, microwave was dirty, bathroom was disgusting (bathtub was BLACK on the bottom and it was incredibly wavy (subfloor?) where you could barely stand in it and there was a layer of gook and dust in various places. The front door handle wouldn't work properly so we felt vulnerable to get in or out! I felt completely unsafe there, as it appears people live there instead of in an apartment or house, keeping their doors and such open...trashcans were full to the brim in the common areas...and overnight, I could hear a person vomiting all night (maybe the guy w/the beer) The next morning, my husband went to get "grab and go" breakfast they said was included and there was none. (He found the same manager that was there the night before later, when he went back to see if any food was put out and it was being cleaned up by her - just the average 7-11 or worse breakfast bread). I wanted to move hotels...packed our stuff and took our valuables with us...deciding a few mins later that we weren't spending much time there so left our clothes and toiletries... By the time we arrived back there at 7:30PMish, there were four police cars and one crime scene van on site, and the parking lot was blocked off due to a stabbing with about a half dozen or more yellow markers of where blood was leaked!!! I knew I felt unsafe for a reason!! Premonition... I went to the manager (hey, a different one this time!) and told him we had been unable to get to our room due to the parking lot being closed in our area and he said "oh, it was just a domestic violence issue"...um, a stabbing where the person was taken to the trauma care hospital and who knows if they lived. I asked the police if they'd caught the person and they said no, but that person was "known" to them and they were going to go to where they thought that person would go...but that secretly, if they were me, they'd go to another nicer hotel, and he gave us some options, one near their police station. Anyway - the new manager was very apologetic and credited us for the night we wouldn't be spending there... I was so traumatized even the next day... I believe the two managers we encountered were doing the best job they could, given what they had to work with/where they worked... Lots of "riff raff" type people seemed to be there. If that's your style, then I guess it would be suitable for you... Room was under $100/night (studio w/kitchenette with no dishes, etc.) with $50/night for a dog; onsite laundry room. (At the Marriott Fullterton where we ended up for two days, it was only $110/night, spotless, restaurant, safe, pool/spa and $100 one-time fee for the dog.) read more
