5+ is the actual rating! I went to Expressions with no idea what I was looking for in wedding flowers. Jerry Don and his team went above and beyond to make things perfect. They did the most stunning arrangements- including the arbor, tables, bouquet, cake and boutonnières - indoors and outdoors. The arrangements were PERFECT. They came out and did all the set up in 95° with smiles on their faces! We ended up getting a much needed rain storm with high winds just minutes before our start time and every stem remained in tact and withheld the elements! read more

I placed an order today that was delivered 2 hours later. They didn't have the exact flowers in the picture so I received a call probably 5 minutes after placing my order. I wanted to take the time to write this review because I saw several negative ones but I took a chance on ordering from EXPRESSIONS anyway. I am so happy that I did. The heart easel for our aunt's funeral in Athens was BEAUTIFUL!! The communication on the phone was excellent and the staff cares and wants you to be happy with their work. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT EXPRESSIONS THAT HAD A PART IN OUR OUT OF TOWN ORDER. We were VERY PLEASED and will use you again if the need arises. I know a lot of people don't take the time to write reviews when everything goes well but they will when they have a complaint. My opinion on reviews is: "a pancake is flat but there are always two sides to it". I had a great experience with this establishment and they do "BEAUTIFUL WORK". LET ME MAKE KNOWN this is the first bad review I have written and I have been ALOT OF PLACES with my YELP account and this place takes the CAKE! Clearly they know how to take, charge but NOT fill orders. My boyfriend placed an order from California for Valentine's well the order NEVER Came, so the 15th I missed 3 calls so I returned the call 1. They answered with a very short HELLO, no company greeting no name of who I am speaking with. I answered say yes I had a missed call the female say's she has to put me on hold she doesn't I can hear someone directing someone else it's line one. Second female get's on phone say's she is wanting to verify if I was going to be at the address provided today the 15th. And that was ALL SHE SAID ON THE MATTER!!!! 2. NOT A SORRY, an EXCUSE, A LIE nothing to me! So I call out to California my boyfriend informes me that he was told they came out 3 different times. 3. Lie someone was home all day, and NO INDICATOR was left on any door saying they were attempting to make delivery. I call back this time professional greeting and name I tell her i had just called to RESCHEDULE A LOCATION and how up set I was by the entire situation of examples 1,2 and 3. She then offered an apology and I lost it HOW DARE you offer an apology when I am the ONE filing an complaint. She had NO DESIRE TO correct the problem PRIOR TO ME CALLING AND NOW, NOW THAT I'M ON THE PHONE NOW she is going to apologize. Offer an UPGRADE ON MY flowers WHY WAS THAT ALREADY DONE?????? 4. They forgot HALF THE ORDER that was PAID FOR my boyfriend had paid for an upgrade of a stuffed animal. NEVER RECIEVED! So bright and early California time my boyfriend calls the business where the OWNER 5.tattled on me that I GOT CRAZY WITH HIS STAFF and it was uncalled for, also told my boyfriend 6. if she works in town why did you put to have it dilvered to her home??? (Why that's ANY OF HIS CONCERN) 7.Lied and said I live 50 miles roundtrip to shop. I live 11 miles of the loop one way. Even better my boyfriend has been here he is VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA. Well all I can say is the owner AT LEAST credited him BACK FOR THE merchandise NEVER RECEIVED. I have every intention of posting this on every social media outlet that I have I am a Google Local Guide with over a half a million views on my account! I am from Detroit, there is a girl there I am getting to know in the Athens, TX area. I asked for a special request that I order a bouquet of valentines flowers and it be put on hold, I also asked if I could additionally send a small trinket gift to their shop, of which would they in turn put with the bouquet. They obliged flawlessly, and the gifts were an absolute hit. The staff here at the shop stayed in touch with me constantly for status updates, and were so pleasant to deal with, if the Yelp rating was more than 5-stars, they'd be getting an even higher rating. When my uncle died, my sister and I wanted to send flowers to our grandmother because we were unable to make the funeral (we live in Chicago). We called this florist and reported our price range of $55-60 and asked for a plant. We discussed african violets and orchids. Believing that the person taking the order understood what we wanted, we hung up with information that the plant would be delivered that same day. I certainly understand that you always take a chance when you order flowers from a florist without seeing them. To some extent, you have to expect that you're going to get screwed because you can't really do anything about it. But this was beyond. Ugh. Our grandmother went to pick up the flowers because her house is difficult to find. But, mysteriously, we were charged a delivery fee. What was sent was nothing like wwhat we had discussed. It was a mum with some ivy. Hardly an african violet or an orchid. A mum is about a $10 plant. Also, the total charge was more than $70 when we expressly stated our price range was $55-60. I called and spoke with the owner, Jerry, hoping that he would immediately offer to refund the deliver charge and potentially knock down some of the rest of the charge because it was so far from what we had discussed. Most small business owners are eager to earn repeat business and are upset when customers are unhappy. But not Jerry! Instead of simply refunding $10 or $15 and asking for my repeat business (which he would have gotten if he had been pleasant about it) Jerry got angry with me for implying that their business practices were dishonest, after he admitted that he charged us a delivery fee but did not deliver the plant. He then claimed that they do not even sell african violets, so I guess that must have been a lie on my part. I also asked him about the price of the plant, which is a pretty commonly inexpensive flower (and some ivy) and wouldn't even go for $60 in Chicago. He said he was sorry we were unhappy with their prices but that they are their prices. He refunded me the $6 delivery fee, but nothing else. The conversation was nasty, and I believe that I started off being very nice about the situation. In short, I will never use this florist again and will instead rely on a florist in the next town over. He has a lot to learn about earning customer loyalty, and customer service in general. The phrase "the customer is always right" obviously didn't enter his mind when he and I were speaking. read more

Nancy at Expressions totally blew me away with what she accomplished for my May 31 wedding at Stone Oak Ranch in TX. My husband is Hawaiian and I wanted the flowers to reflect his heritage. I told her I understood that tropical flowers could be hard to get, but to just do the best she could. When the flowers were delivered, both myself and my husband were blown away!! The flowers looked as if they belonged in a resort in Hawaii! They were phenomenal! She had bird of paradise, ginger, and ornamental pineapples and many other flowers/plants that are difficult to get in TX. I had previously had two other local florists tell me that they couldn't achieve the look I wanted, but Nancy immediately understood my vision of bright, big, bold colors and blooms. But she took it one step further and created authentic Hawaiian arrangements! The flowers were a huge hit! Nancy knocked it out of the park and I was absolutely thrilled that the flowers represented the Hawaiian influence and feel that I was going for. And she did it all within my budget.
