What can I say!? You can get your hair done and enjoy a good time! I attended the Galentine's event this past February! The cost was $50, and it came with a lot. There were gift bags, food and libation galore!!! A time was truly had, there was a surprise drag show and games with REAL prizes. There was a henna artist that offered amazing quick service and super neat! I went by myself and met up with friends. Although if I didn't know anyone, I still would have had a great time! This location was beautiful! Chic, bougie and oh so comfortable! I highly recommend if you need a small and quaint event location. I would not recommend more than 35 people. If you want to be comfortable! :) But there is space on the patio which is semi-private. If you have the opportunity to attend an event, I highly recommend! read more

So let me share my experience, I arrived and my stylist was 18 mins behind. She came through the door without apology although she shared later what caused her to be late. The other girl who waited was another stylist's second appointment. She did not get to her till about 45mins after the appointment time. Poor girl shared she had a high school dance that day and a nail appointment right after that she had to miss because the stylist ran behind. I personally did not like the outcome of her hair and believed they had too much leave out to speed up the process to get her done. so back to me... My hair was braided tightly and I was told I was tinder headed, I was burned twice and my appointment took about 4 hours! My babysitter was so upset because I was told it's about 3 hours max. The shop had an event and everyone was setting up around us and it felt so uncomfortable. I hated my hair in the end. I asked for the closure behind the hairline. The closure was placed too far back. I complained to the owner who said it was pretty much on me since I should have had the closure glued although she admitted it was not executed right. I said I was trying my best to be nice about it but this was a huge inconvenience because I couldn't get it fixed in the moment (I was sort of rushed out for their event). I could hear the stylist Samantha talking about me. It was so loud that another woman came to close the door. (So unprofessional and again uncomfortable). I then told the owner she was late and the owner said she was only 15 mins late. It was more than that and being late is not okay especially when they charge a late fee. I was scheduled to come back another day to make it right but I live over an hr away, have to plan childcare and with hostility like that I just didn't feel comfortable. I absolutely DO NOT recommend! I recently visited this salon to have a quick weave installed. I had to get the style taken down only two days later because my scalp was in so much pain from the tight braids and thread. Then a couple days later, blood scabs began to form on my scalp where the braids were too tight. As the scabs loosened and came out, my hair started falling out in small patches right a long it. I now have two decent sized bald spots (that I know of) near the center of my head. I am devastated! Although the owner agreed to giving a partial refund, she insisted that I did something to cause my hair to fall out once leaving the salon. In her words, "Is there a spot of hair missing, yes. But Jasmine is saying it wasn't there at the time of removal. Nor was it scabbed. Whatever you did when you left, could have been from products or something else that irritated it. Braid irritation is immediate and very noticeable. It doesn't develop days later if it was that tight. It's impossible." First of all, nothing is impossible! Secondly, I've gotten quick weaves plenty of times in my hair from non certified stylists in their living room and this has NEVER happened. They may not have had a salon, but they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, Jasmine didn't know what she was doing. I understand that as a manager, you want to protect your employees and your business. But at some point you have to own up to your mistakes instead of blaming it on the customer. Now I have to spend more money on hair growth serums and other products in hopes of getting my hair back to its healthy state. Book with this salon at your own risk. read more

So last winter I was looking for a stylist to take my weave out as my current "kitchen stylist" wasnt available. On a Sunday morning when i was out running errands i heard their radio ad that mentioned they were open Sundays! I called and was immediately given an appointment that worked with my schedule for later that morning. I arrived and was happy to find an adjacent parking lot next door. My stylist Tara was ready for me when i walked in. She was so sweet and professional that she made me feel welcome. Tara was efficient and I was in and out within an hour. We talked about future services and pricing so I scheduled an appointment for chrochet braids. Again she was ready for me, professional and the install was done to my satisfaction. I have been back several times now for take downs, weave installs and happy to say I have found a new stylist!! The shop isnt fancy, but as it is very affordable so I dont mind. I love that they accept credit/debt cards and actually print you out a reciept! There are about 4 other stylists and they all seem to do good work. They also sell their own hair, but i prefer to bring my own. Dont forget to ask for the stamp reward card for the $50 credit on a future service. . read more

I was too quick to judge, just extremely happy that I thought I found a place with good reputable service that would do consistent good work but with good customer service as well. And I'm sad to say I did not find the customer service that I was looking for here. I wish things would have worked out different but unfortunately my standards for customer service are high I've dealt with too many people for too many years and if you have a place of business where your servicing people there's a certain level of customer service that should come along with it. Delayed responses in messages causes people to look elsewhere unfortunately and unprofessional responses will also cause someone to go somewhere else real fast. I'm disappointed I have to write this review and part ways with Express Weave Bar cause this was my 4th time going there because they do have the best deal in town and always fit me in within a few days but recently I got a weave install of really long hair, 28". I asked Erika to leave out as little as possible because the hair is really long so I needed the sew in to come up high. When it was done I kinda figured too much was left out and should have said something then but sometimes u don't really notice it til u get home and try to style it. I had some hair left from the bundles so I called a few days later to see if one more braid could be added to sew in more hair. Whoever answered said they'd check with Erika and call me right back in 20 mins. This was Fri and here it Wed and still no call back. I even called again yesterday and left another message. Still no call back. It's frustrating when people say they will call you back and don't and don't return messages. I get my hair done about every few weeks so me and my money will just go else where however I doubt they could care the way they don't return phone calls. I also had to wait an hour to get my hair done cause she was running late. I had called to say I was running 10 mins behind and she could have said then that she was running late too but didn't. Instead I show up to find her still working on someone and had to wait an hour but didn't make a big deal about it. No apology or consideration. I never understood why it's so hard for hair techs to just call and give the client a heads up. read more

My experience at Express Weave Bar was, pretty good. I appreciate the fact; if you're not pleased with how your hair came out, you can contact whoever styled you within a few days and work with them to correct your concern. This occasion was the first time I had an install with a closure done, and overall, I am okay with how my hair turned out. The weave is nice, the closure still needs work, but I'll live; my hair is cute, and I'm cute so- win-win ;) The stylist initially glued the closure down in the front, but my head wasn't having that; so she sewed it down. I think the closure would have come out more to my liking if it was s​ewn in first, then the tacks installed, but now that I have a bit more knowledge about closures, I can make sure the stylist and I share the same vision in the future. The real test will be once I take my hair down and see the health and condition of my edges and overall hair. Well if you want to pay a deposit for an appointment, arrive at the shop at agreed upon time and the shop is closed and the door is locked. I have never in my professional career has this happen. I sent my deposit in via paypal 6/27 and we agreed on the appointment 7/4 @ 10 am and the excuse i got was a stylist was headed to the bay and something about a pregnant stylist did she not want to tell me that she book an appointment on a holiday and does not have a stylist to fulfill it WHAT PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS DOES THIS?? This is what my son would call a Trap Salon if you want to deal with these problems then yes a $75.00 weave is prefect for you, I've learned my lesson 80 West is the only way to go ALL OF MY TIME IS VALUABLE. My daughter has been to this salon twice, the first time was because I bought a Groupon and gave it to her. This time she was paying for it herself and she was upset because the lady charged her an extra $20 for installing used hair, I called to ask why and she said it was because it takes more time to piece the hair wefts together to sew it in, but my daughters bundles were still on one weft and they didn't charge her $20 the first time she went there and her bundles were used then. After hearing about this place on the radio and checking out their amazing prices-since it's around $225 for just the full sew in the places I've tried in Fairfield I made the drive down for a 9AM appointment. I was in and out by 11:15. Tara was amazing and professional and my hair looks bomb! She was super respectful of my allergies. I purchased hair from them (they only carry human) and bought an extra net with a circle closure and my total was $205 before tip. The fastest weave session I've ever had, my stylist was respectful and didn't glue my top closure, and I wasn't forced to wait 6 to 8 hours--I'll be back and I completely recommend it!! read more

I really did hope for the best! I even liked their theme song. My hair style should have lasted at least 8 weeks but the style has not been up two weeks and 3 tracks are loose and coming down. The owner was responsive initially, when tracks unraveled (I thought )because I asked the hair tech to loosen 2 weave track areas. I said hey stuff happens, the tech obviously failed to secure the areas she cut in and effort to ease up the tension i was feeling. My thoughts were I will go back and allow her to tighten them, easy breezy. She did I said thank you, she said I wont even charge you!! lol... (Thanks! side eye) . Well 2 days later I have 3 tracks literally falling out. I left a voice mail and a dm on Facebook and included pics within my message. I can tell someone saw the message, no one has responded. At this point I am so disappointed and busy I am just going to take the who damn weave out. I could just pay to have someone else tighten it.. but I feel like I bought a lemon car that will need continues repair . I really wanted to like the weave bar, with the whole express concept being attractive and to support another college educated sistah... but this was a fail... Hair weave is an investment and this service is not worth it! It would be great to find a quality stylist with reasonable prices ... I was looking for a new place to do my hair and found Express Weave Bar I called to book my appointment and the lady I spoke with was great that's the only reason they deserve one star. I showed up today for my 11 am appointment and was very disappointed. I walked into the salon and just stood there for about five minutes without anyone saying to me final I asked the lady doing hair if she worked there and she asked if I needed anything. I was never greeted asked who I was there to see by anyone they all pretended like I wasn't there. I told her that I had an 11 with Erika she said she wasn't in yet. By this time it's 10 minutes after 11 and I decided that I no longer want to keep my appointment because I felt that the whole experience has been unprofessional for a business. So I ask to cancel my appointment and leave I ended up going back to ask for my deposit back and they had locked the door. I knock and a new lady answered the door and I'm told to text someone for my deposit back. I texted the number and never got a response back. This business is very unprofessional and I do not recommend getting your hair done here. read more

Complete trash !So unprofessional,staff and owner and sloppy work. They too busy lookin at their own hair in the mirror and making personal plans than fixing your hair correctly! I got a weave done here.it looked fine when I left the chair ...literally a week and a half it started falling out.2 small braids were placed along my edges now my edges are gone! I'm working really hard to grow them back. So the tracks fell out and loosened I went back to get this mistake fixed.owner stated there certain thing that must be done to upkeep a weave like wrapping it.I didn't ask for her advice I know how to care for my weave been getting them for years and they never come out 1-2weeks later and she said I don't know if you know how hair business works but we don't fix the work of others..I don't know and don't care! Just fix this crap 1 of your stylist put in..they tried to charge me another installation..idk who paying that not I,especially for work that should have been done correctly in the first place..the owner is unprofessional and their weaves should start off at $20 for their lousy work.
