It's pretty convenient actually. It's in a building that has a supermarket, a drugstore and a clothing shop. Now, back to David's Salon. It's not a high end David's Salon, but they do offer all the services the other branches have. Their staff are so friendly and patient. They don't try to talk to you and spill gossip while doing your hair or your nails. Yup, professional people. Also, they'll give you their opinion about the haircut you want and will tell you if it will look good or bad. I really appreciate that. If you want to be sure that they can accommodate you, call them up and set an appointment. Look for Sir Arnold. He knows what he's doing and does it well.

It's one of those salons that promises to give you a quick and fair service without breaking your wallet. David Salon falls in the middle of the spectrum of chain salons. It's more expensive than Reyes Salon but a lot cheaper than Piandre. I've never had a bad experience here and I can see why it has become the go-to salon for middle-class men and women. Tips: 1. Save your money! Don't go to a senior stylist if you only need a trim or a basic cut. It's the same. 2. Bring your own nail polish. Most of the colors they offer are basic.

Decided to try a new salon as Bench Fix (the one located inside ATC) gets busy as always. Azta…read morebeing located in the basement of ATC, gets less foot traffic. Price of the cut differs who the creative stylist is (there's 5 of them) and whether you're a gal/guy. Ranges from 150-350. With mounds of hair on my head, I was itching to chop some layers and get a nape undercut. If you're looking for an edgy cut, Roxan is amazing. She easily got what I wanted just by showing some photos. Mad skills she has; to shave and etch precisely! What makes a fantastic salon isn't really the quality of the end product (that should be given), it's all about service extended by the staff and they score an A in my books. Azta is one of the salons that specialise in fashion hair- crazy colours, hair tattooing, dreads, cornrows and all... Stop dreaming about getting that hairstyle you saw on Pinterest. Get it done here now!

What if I went to some salon and end up with a bad haircut? I did some research and found that Azta Urban Salon recommends haircuts suited for their clients. My Google search showed that there was a branch in Alabang Town Center, which is quite near where I live. Perfect. And so I went there and they assigned a stylist for me. He was very friendly and showed me magazines with models with haircuts that would suit me. He even fixed up and braided the hair he cut as I was intending to donate it. He called my haircut "spicy cut," with layered sides and a shorter back. I love it! Since then, I did not grow my hair long again. I visited Azta several more times and I was given just a slightly different haircut each time. When I finally got a better idea of what would suit me, I started having my hair cut also in our neighborhood salon, especially when I'm in a hurry, as it is much nearer our house (I usually just walk to it!). I show the pictures of my haircut then with Azta.

I'd like to believe that my current hair cut/style "square bob with fringe" is a style that any…read morestylist in any kind of salon, even the cheap Php 50 cuts can effortlessly execute. This is why cheapskate me has been having haircuts in dodgy "parlors" here in the South. Well, so I tried getting a 50 peso haircut at another high-end looking salon that came with a bit of "ambience". Well it turned out horrible as the stylist couldn't even cut straight! Well, I obviously got what I paid for, I know! So, naturally I would find someone else who can fix my hair so I stopped by at Nilo's Cut Salon, who offers Php 100 haircuts for a trim with no shampoo (Php 180 with shampoo). Nilo has made a name for himself here in Better Living, and I believe he has a long list of 'suki's' already. I had no idea what the hair cut I wanted was called, so I fished out a photo from Pinterest (Haha!) and showed him a photo of this Parisian girl with a blunt cut. Nilo says "Ah, square bob". Okay, great! Nilo cuts hair effortlessly, and his hands are light and gentle, unlike some stylists whose hands and movements are a bit on the rough side. Nilo works through your hair with a feathery touch. Ten minutes later, my cut is done, and is the correct length I wanted! He also fixed my fringe as well (About my fringe, I only let stylists who I can trust to cut my fringe. Let's just say it's a precaution for ending up with another tragedy called 'baby bangs'). His assistant then proceeds to blow dry my hair after the cut, and after a few minutes, he goes "Para ka nang chandelier" (You look like a chandelier). "Chandelier? Huh...?" Then he says "The music video". If you know me, I am perpetually out of touch with pop music. If you're wondering what my haircut looked like after, search Chandelier by Sia on Youtube and spot the blonde Maddie Ziegler! So, except for the hair, I look nothing like that Parisian girl on the photo I brought, but I am very pleased with Nilo's quick service and expertise.

But right after they started with the haircut they informed my mom that they are now charging us 320 EACH because of blow drying our hair which is funny because they already said that the price they provided before already includes blow drying and shampoo (which is indicated in their price list I've attached in this review). Well, I guess, the salon's location is accessible to most people, too, since it is just a few steps away from the escalator. I was so glad to have found the perfect stylist who knows how to deal with my thick and fuzzy hair. Her name is Diane. She is very good at what she does and she is very straightforward when it comes to what would look good on me and how I would look like if I insisted on having a particular style applied on my crowning glory. When you want to have your hair done at Freshaire, ask for her. I love that the Freshaire shop at Festival is super clean and has a spacious waiting area. I always have my hair done on a weekend and that means that I'm with my husband and our little boy. Whenever I go for a haircut, my boys can comfortably hang around at the waiting area. Sometimes, they would go out and leave our son's stroller behind. He was confident to do so since the lady at the reception desk is kind enough to look after it.
