My washing machine was leaking, I called Express Repair and they sent a guy to look at it a few days later. He told me a clamp on the hose was not working and charged me almost $400 to fix it, then it was still leaking and told me that the issue he fixed resolved the issue, and this is now a new issue. He came back in a few days and charged me only the service call that time. The leak was still happening, and there was water all over my basement floor, and now it's been over 2 weeks that I haven't been able to do laundry. He said he would order the part which he originally had difficulty finding. I waited two weeks to hear from him and nothing, I bought a new washer, only to have him leave me a message 3 days after receiving my new washer, that the part has arrived. I left him a message and he never responded. Moral of the story, I paid $500 in repairs, to only have to buy a new washing machine. I had express appliance repair to fix my Bosch dishwasher. They come up on the internet as being able to fix Bosch however they are not licensed by Bosch to repair. I had already taken off the door but had not touched anything on the internals of the machine. The technician completely misdiagnosed the problem, told me he couldn't get the replacement part and I would have to replace the dishwasher. I paid $214 cash and no they didn't get my name right even after I corrected it. I then contacted Bosch to complain about my not quite 5 year old Bosch (no longer under warranty needing replacement. They told me that the technician was not licensed by Bosch and sent an official Bosch technician within 2 working days with no charge for diagnosis. He diagnosed a totally different problem fixed it in 1/2 an hour and charged $60. I now have a working dishwasher and a year warranty from Bosch. I contacted Express Appliance Repair and they said my Bosch guy was incompetent and they stand by their "trained" technicians. You judge! Anyway, I would not advise anyone to use this place. Whatever you do, do not use this company!! Express Appliance Repair will take your money and not provide quality service or workmanship. They charged us a terribly inflated price, had a very RUDE worker in our home, took longer than necessary to fix the problem ( while having a personal phone call throughout ). The scariest part, I found the worker under our sink - -he had BROKEN something and hadn't TOLD me.... thankfully, I had walked in and found him red handed. This "company" overcharges horribly, cares not that what they install breaks ( both parts broke in 4 months ), they also love to tell you that they only guarantee their parts for 3 tiny months. Oh, and it is true, the woman that claims to to be the "manager" on the phone tries to be intimidating - -but, she is just a front so that you will not ask questions. She is rude and she yells. So, Express Appliance Repair, if you are reading this about yourselves, take a moment and ask yourself if you feel you are honest, do quality work, care when your work is not done properly, treat others respectfully and send truly trained ppl in to the homes in our community. You should all be ashamed, which I am sure you are. So, word of mouth is powerful... care about your "clients" and care when your work is extremely poor. PLEASE READ !!!!! I called on August 13th for a repair on my LG front load washer not draining . The first time AMIR got lost because Sabrina didn't forward the directions I had specifically given. So I lost my 2 hour window . Next ALEX came and fiddled with the machine only to tell me that my washer washer motor was broken. I paid the $150.00 security on a repair that would cost my $200.00 for the service and $385.00 for the part. That's $585.00 !!!!! I said that I could niy a new washer for that, his response..."next time"A few days later ALEX returned with a box the shape of a pizza box. He told me that he replaced the motor and said that my washing machine was working. IT WAS NOT. I immediately called him on his cell and explained that my washer was doing the exact same thing- NOT DRAINING . Amir arrived without notice,lucky I was home he checked on it and told me that "The Board" was missing and not to use it. Meanwhile I had a load of wash in it. He said not to worry, the part would be ready in 3 days and to leave the clothes in the washer . 3 days turned into a week. MY LAUNDRY STUNK UP THE HOUSE. I had to throw everything out. I had to pay another Appliance repair company to come and see what was wrong. Absolutely nothing was replaced . Everything indicated that nothing was done except that my "board " was gone . After over 200 minutes on the phone and several emails of arguing with Michelle. Several promised service calls that never happened. A week later another tech from EXPRESS was sent to Put our board back, but it wouldn't even power up. WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED A REFUND BUT HAD TO PURCHASE A BRAND NEW WASHING MACHINE BECAUSE apparently the board must be protested with an antistatic bag when removed or replaced and it as not. I believe that my board was taken for another customer and I was just suppose to wait for a board that wasn't going to be back in stock for months. This was the WORST experience ever. This company sent a repairman to my house to fix a machine. He told me he could bypass the broken part to fix it and charged my $240 for the experience. One week later my machine was broken and they were going to charge me $240 all over again. this is after a week of chasing them down on the phone and being either ignored or turned away. They claim to know certain brands but they don't. They say they are certified but they are not. At the end of the day my Miele freezer was not fixed and they gave me back only a portion of the money that I paid them - this is unacceptable. If you can't fix it, don't pretend to fix it and keep sending service people who don't understand the brand. Good luck to whomever uses them. read more

Called this company today because online it represented itself as an LG repair service. I knew that the problem with my fridge was a water hose attached to the back of my fridge. The woman on the phone, after I asked questions, assured me that the repair person would have the part, a water hose, on his truck and the repair could be done on the spot. She advised it would cost $79 for the visit and it could be subtracted from the repair bill. The repair person showed up (he came in a small car), advised he didn't have the part, and that it would cost $79 for the part and $265 for labour, plus tax plus 3 per cent extra if I paid by credit card. I said I will consider the cost and asked him the name of the part that was required for the water hose. He could not tell me, repeating that it was a water hose. I paid him $90 for the visit ($79 plus tax in cash). He insisted that I sign his phone, which I did, to acknowledge that I paid the money. He sent me a copy of the invoice I paid (which, it turned out, included an acknowledgment by me that the money paid could not be returned, despite his assurance that it was simply an acknowledgment that I received the money. I called LG Canada. Turns out I could order the "$79" part online for $18. LG Canada had no problem naming the part based on the photograph I sent them. Further, they advised that Express Appliance Repair was not a certified LG appliance repair business. I called the certified appliance repair business, based in Vaughn. They advised that they could supply the part and do the repair for approximately $280 altogether. It is clear to me that, as well as charging $120 more than the certified appliance business, Express Appliance repair misrepresented that they would bring the part with them, that they were even an authorized LG appliance, and that the part itself cost $79. I contemplated not paying the service man anything and I regret that I did. He could not even name the part that I needed--something that he should have been able to do after having been paid $90 for his attendance. This is the kind of company that should not be in business. BEWARE customers! This company is not an Accredited Better Business Bureau (BBB) company with an A+ rating as stated in their website. This company is in fact not accredited and has a D- rating. They do however waived the $89 service call if they do the repair but they certainly make up for it in the part they sell you and the labour they charge. I was charged $154.36 for a part that should have cost $95 and $180 for 10 minutes of the technician time. I was also charged a 3% surcharge because I used my credit card but I was never told there would be an extra fee if I used a credit card. In total I was charged close to $400 for a minor repair. At the rate they charge for repairs, it would probably be cheaper to buy new appliances or seek repairs elsewhere. read more

Terrible experience. Had a technician in to fix our Dishwasher. He made 4 visits in a 2 week period (and rescheduled twice)... not only did he not fix the dishwasher, he left it more broken. He left pieces off of the dishwasher, it now leaks (it didn't before) and scratched the floor trying to move it. Never mind that he left screws all over the floor when he left (we have 2 small children). I spoke to a manager and it took 2 weeks to get a partial refund. I called them back and the technician returned the next day. He told me he was not able to repair the fridge and to go buy a new one. I asked him about a refund and he said to take it up with his management. After calling daily for the last several days they refunded me $279.56. I should have read the reviews on this business before I even bothered to dial Express Appliance Repair's number. They seem to be running a scam to bait you! They attract you with an offer of $25 coupon if you book online for the initial service call (to diagnose the problem) and say that they'll apply the discount to the repair. But when you decide to proceed with the repair, they tell you that they've already applied the $25 to labour already performed? Huh??? Then when you ask them to detail the supposed labour to which the $25 discount was applied to, they write back "You have already received all discounts. Thank you." Ask them the same question again and you'll receive back the same robotic reply. IT'S A SCAM!! Don't fall for it and definitely don't go with this company for your repairs. read more

Be aware wish I read yelp worst customer experience and inexperienced technician. Accidents happen but its what you do about it. The technician broke the glass I pre-ordered for inside oven repair. If I didn't have someone at home that day I never would have been contacted about this event. So a 10 am appointment became a whole day event 3:30. The manager when you call is the owner was extremely rude. He said lady we could have just left new glass and not done the job. Guess this is how you handle on your end an inexperienced technician that is left out there clueless without informing your customer. Run run! When asked to pay I requested a discount and was told 20 dollars off and threatened with a collection agency. The joke is the technician never left an invoice or had my name spelled correctly. Reading these yelp reviews it sounds like he hires inexperienced help and hopes the customer is stupid. read more

Two service technicians visited my home to repair a Miele refrigerator that was not working. The technicians said the refrigerator would require a several thousand dollar repair and that they'd need to order parts and return to complete the repair. After the technicians departed, I realized that there was a simple power switch inside the refrigerator that was mistakenly switched "off". Upon moving the switch back to the "on" position, the problem was resolved. I contacted this service six times to resolve this matter, and the owner/manager will not return my call. Beware of this service provider, as they are either providing fraudulent repairs or completely inept, and completely unwilling to address this matter with me directly. read more

NOT RECOMMENDED - I made an appointment with careandrepairs.ca listed as being located at 99 Davisville Ave., Toronto. The phone number on that website changes by the way, and think there is an appliance repair company in the GTA with a similar name which actually gets good reviews on Homestars, which this company should not be confused with!. A service tech called to confirm the appointment 1/2 an hour before the 2 hour appointment window would have expired and quoted $10 more over the phone than was advertised on their website and then when I said I wanted to cancel he said I had to provide 3 hours notice or I would be billed anyway which was never previously disclosed to me and which I explained to him. I then tried to cancel through the office twice but got a message that they were experiencing higher than normal call volumes. The service tech never arrived and even though I was NEVER told about a 3 hour cancellation requirement and he misquoted the price of a service call, I was billed $10 more than the quoted website price but by this different company called Express Repair which obviously gets poor online reviews and the bill was full of inaccuracies.Seems that they have changed their name but still are highly unprofessional. Beware of this company!!! I needed a technician that was trained for Sub-Zero refridgerators and when I had contacted the company, they said their technicians were certified Sub-Zero Techs. The technician arrived, with no tools on how to check my fridge for the problem. He looked at a few things, called someone and was speaking in another language, eastern european and then proceeded to tell me that it was a control panel issue. When I had questioned how he came to this conclusion, he said because there is no power. The part was quoted at 500.00 plus and additonal 375.00 for labour. The company forwarded me an invoice that indicated to order a refridgerator part...not specific of what was needed and $375.00 labour plus tax. At this point I was very suspicious and began making some phone calls. Turns out this company is banded from the only provider of parts for these refridgertor parts because of scandels as such. In the end, the only part I needed was a thermostat which was a 50.00 part. Never ever use this company, very dishonest and untrustworthy. read more

Experience from HELL! Worst costumer service EVER! Our fridge was not keeping cool so we called Express Repair for help. We were told our compressor needed a boost and that if the repair didn't work, we'd get a partial refund. Well the fridge wasn't working by the next day so we called in the morning and afternoon. We were told they would look into it and get back to us. By our third phone call, the manager was in a meeting and was the one apparently responsible for issuing the refund. When we asked when the manager would be free, the costumer service representative did not know, nor could she give us a time frame. We called again in the evening only to experience the company picking up on us and hanging up! This went on for the span of 30 minutes. There were two times they answered, asked us to hold (so quickly we couldn't reply), placed us on hold, then hung up! We felt taken advantage of, we were angry, and we were confused as hell! Why would a company hang up on their costumers? To save $100? If they didn't want to issue the refund, we'd be fine with that and carry on. It's the fact that they ignored our calls, hung up...then finally left a voicemail with us the next day that spells: WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER! They left a voicemail saying they issued a refund...and emailed the exact same receipt as the initial repair receipt! Refund or error? Stay away - they care about their money but not their costumers. My fridge (full of food) was leaking Freon and needs to repaired pronto. I called them yesterday and while I was delighted to hear they would be at the house within a few hours this is a scam pure and simple. The guy who showed up was not a repairman but a "diagnostician". Not only did he tell me to buy a new fridge as the first diagnosis but when I told him what is really wrong with the appliance and that I wanted it fixed he told me the "on the books" charge, and the less expensive "off the books" price.Then he tells me his repairman needs to check at his schedule but should be done today or tomorrow. I said do the repair and showed him the cash to pay for it. Then he says oh he cant do it until sometime next week and demands almost $90.00 for his wonderful diagnosis. I then got a written quote which is yet a different charge amount. I've now demanded a refund and they are refusing. This is the most fraudulent business I have ever dealt with. I would have given them negative stars if google allowed. Here is what happened, my LG top load washer wouldn't power on (since last Friday) so I searched on google and it was suggested that if basic troubleshooting steps as outlined on LG website didn't work then the main controller board needed to be replaced. Then I searched for appliance repair companies in Scarborough and the first google ad showed up for "Express Appliance repair". I called them on Friday evening and specifically told the girl that took my call my LG washer model number and the issue of faulty main controller board that needed replacing. The girl told me that the technician that will visit me will have these parts as they were commonly carried by them. When the technician arrived on Saturday morning, he fiddled around a bit then told me that the main control board needed to be replaced, I told him that this is what I already told the girl when I logged the service call so why he came for the service call when he didn't have the part. Then he called LG (I am not sure where he called but that's what he told me so I believe him), after talking on phone for a bit, he told me that LG doesn't make this part anymore and I need to replace the washer. After that he demanded $89. I asked him to give me a printed copy of the invoice and he said that he can only email me a copy of the invoice after I paid. At that point I had no other choice but to pay the man because my wife / kids / old mother were at home and I didn't want to create a scene in front of them but I told the guy that this was a very unfair practise of deceitfully taking money by coming for a service call and telling me something which I already knew. Even the invoice that was emailed to me had my first name spelled wrong and the tech said that he can't do anything so I should call back the number I called earlier, when I called that number, some guy picked up and he also told me that he will look into the issue and get back to me. It has been 24hrs and I haven't received any call back or email from them. I have therefore written this review so that other people who are looking to engage them will be cautious. Don't waste your $89 on a service call by this fraudulent company. read more
