I had made a mistake and tried "recharging" my wool dryer balls by throwing them in the washing…read moremachine (as a few blog posts state to do!) however, whether by user error (me..) or by actual fact (like, are you not supposed to wash wool?) 4 out of 5 of our wool dryer balls completely fell apart and basically disintegrated during the wash cycle which I did not discover until i went to move the dryerballs and towels into the drying machine. Lo and behold, our washing machine did not drain and there was wool dryer ball fluff everywhere... I was panicking! I'd never broken a washing machine before! So I took to Yelp and found Ronen's company and messaged them through Request a Quote. Ronen got back to me SUPER quickly and was actually able to come the day after I reached out to them. He did tell me there was an initial diagnostic fee, but it could be credited to the repair. Ronen came during the time window that he gave me, found out what was wrong with the machine, told me what the issue was and quoted me on the spot (we had a broken drain that needed to be replaced) for about ~$415 + tax. I really needed the washer fixed, so I agreed and Ronen went ahead with the fix. All in all, for someone to have come the next day to find the problem and fix it within an hour or two while causing as minimal disruption to our family's day-to-day, I'd say Ronen's price was honest and worth it! From the time I used Request a Quote to the time Ronen walked out of our unit, the communication was clear, concise, and very helpful. Will definitely be recommending Total Care Appliance Repair to any friends in Toronto that need services!

We bought our Miele mid-size canister vacuum from this place probably ten years ago. The Miele is…read morestill kicking despite having been through renovations, etc. We've only had them replace the electrical cord when the cleaning lady pulled it too long. We've since downsized from house to condo. + I can reach the entire condo from one central plug just inside the master bedroom - Laundry 'room' is now reduced to closet and taking Miele in and out is now a pain. Originally I was interested in purchasing The Kone, but you can only buy it on eBay now and many poor reviews. So I researched online and came up with Stylish/Functional hand vac: Rapido by Electrolux. So pleased when I found out I could pop over to my favourite vacuum store to buy it and it made me feel confident b/c 1) Electrolux is a good brand 2) This store only carries quality products. I used the hand vac daily for several weeks, perfect for: a) the en-suite {swear I lose 20 hairs on the tile floor whenever I brush, and kitty litter box is housed in my vanity cabinet so perfect for picking up the stray walnut shells tracked from kitty paws} b) the guest bathroom {my hubby is hairy and likes dark towels, which also shed} c) the kitchen {lots of spills, plus I don't like cold tile floors so have 2 rugs in there!} d) around cat food bowls {why must they be such messy eaters?} e) the living room {to catch those crumbs from us eating in front of the tv, plus the slim cat ball that houses kibble & treats and rewards cat w/ food when he rolls it around} f) dust bunnies the size of gerbils that find there way under the sideboards and collect in corners. Imagine my surprise (and theirs) when I went back to Vacuum King to enquire about purchasing replacement filters for the hand vac. After all, I'm used to picking up the Miele bags from them...they laughed and said "we don't have the filters in stock yet, the product is too new ~ you are supposed to open up the hand vac, pull the filter out and vacuum the dust/particles/hair/fur with your Miele, and you're good to go for another few weeks...the filter is supposed to last 3 years!" :~) They are a great store to deal with AND this hand vac really rocks. Actually, it ROLLS because it has two small wheels at the front that allow it to glide noiselessly along tile and hardwood without scratching it. BUY THIS VAC at VACUUM KING!!

What a saga! Long story short. We hired them to install our dishwasher. The guy did not attach the…read moredrainpipe and did not fully attach the incoming water either. He told me it was all good to go, he had tested it, and left. When we turned on the machine water started spilling out of the cupboard and onto the kitchen floor!!! If we had left it our entire kitchen and living room would have flooded... I can't even tell you how upset we were. I called the company the next day to complain and they didn't even apologize and were painfully slow to respond to me. I gave them 4 days to either send someone to fix/ check the installation (because who knows what else the guy just didn't do!!) or refund my money so I can get someone else in there. THEN five days later, the water slowly trickled down from the incoming water line (which at that point we didn't know was leaking) and leaked through the ceiling onto our basement floor. It wrecked the dry wall. We called them to complain and ask for our money back again. No apology. They just argued with my husband. Then they said they would give us our money back. It's been two weeks and not a dime. We thought about taking them to small claims court but decided it would not be worth the cost of a lawyer.

What a Nightmare! This was a simple 10 minute dryer repair requiring a very common $20 part that…read moreany Professional already has in their toolbox. My dryer was WORKING when this started, the guy took it apart before even bringing in the parts, then when it was the wrong part, left my dryer in 7 pieces not working. I made repeated appointments to come back but he wouldn't show up, I called again & again & again only to hear the same old story, he's always "on the way". Every time I've called the office, it's vm then a call back from the same tech so there's not even anyone to complain to! I was quoted over $400 for a $90 repair by this Con Artist! Here's the details of how I've been repeatedly lied to & jerked around by this Company: Saturday: My dryer worked fine but was making a screeching noise off & on so I called, described the problem, scheduled an appointment for the next day. Sunday: Tech arrived, listened to the dryer for a few seconds, told me it was the Drum Rollers, all 4 have to be replaced, they're only sold in sets & price for the parts would be about $165, plus $180 labor. Seemed like a lot but I just wanted it fixed so he said he'd obtain the parts & come back the next day at 4:30. Monday: Tech comes in, took apart the dryer then went out to the truck for the parts, came back in telling me the correct part # is on the box but it's a part for a fridge, so he said he'd obtain the correct part & come back at 4:30 the next day. He left my dryer in pieces, said the Idler Pulley "was in backwards", little did I realize at the time, he took the pulley with him, my working dryer is now non-functional with a part missing, but it's just for "one day", so I thought fine. Tuesday: I arrived home at 4:30, called him right away to let him know I was there, he said he'd be here in an hour. I understand things happen especially in the service industry, so I patiently waited, didn't call him back until almost 7, he told me he was on his way & would be there in 20 - 30 minutes. I called again an hour later & he was still "on the way" so I waited, and waited, and waited. When I was getting tired & ready to turn in for the night, I called again, got vm then an instant text back saying "I'll call you back", of course, no call. Wednesday: Halloween, the one day of the week I didn't have free to wait by the door for a no-show repairman. Thursday: Laundry is starting to pile up. I'd spoken to the tech who assured me that he'd be at my door at 4 pm. I waited from 4 then called about 4:45, he's on the 401 in Mississauga, traffic is bad but he's "on the way". I understand traffic in the GTA is terrible, delays can be expected so I patiently waited till after 7 to call back, at that point he was at the 401/DVP & once again, "on the way", I live about 10 minutes from there. So I waited, and waited, and waited......finally when I called again around 8:45, got vm then an instant text back saying "I'll call you back", of course, again, no call. It's amazing that this company is still in business after the way they blatantly lie, lie, lie to their Customers. If they're running late or can't make it that time or day, it's only common courtesy to call & let the customer know instead of repeatedly making promises they know they can't keep & wasting people's time. To do otherwise is sheer incompetence. Friday: So frustrated & fed up, at this point, I had no more confidence in this lying tech or his Company & wouldn't let them through my door if they did show up, have to get some laundry done so I called a guy recommended by a few neighbors. He seemed very knowledgeable with no BS, said the drum rollers for my dryer are a common part, cost $21, just one can be replaced, easy cheap repair, already has a some in his van and a few of the Idler Pulleys. His earliest appointment was 5 - 7 Saturday so I took it. No contact from the other guy despite making sure he had my home & cell numbers. Saturday: George from GTA Toronto Appliance Repair came over, right in the middle of a 2 hour time window. Checked the drum rollers, says they're all OK, he replaced the idler pulley, put the machine back together in less than 25 minutes & most of that was fitting back on all the panels the other guy removed, as changing the idler pulley only requires taking off the bottom panel. George changed me only $90, parts & labor, a pleasant end to this nightmare. They advertise as "Toronto's Best Appliance Service; Guaranteed!", "Highly Professional", "Top Rated for 10+Years", "Genuinely Caring" when not a word of it is true! I really wonder how many, if any of the 5 star reviews are legit. I found the guy I dealt with to be grossly incompetent, compulsive liar with no accountability whatsoever, trying to charge over $400+ for a job that costs $90 is fraud! The image of their "Head Office" says it all, this Company is fishy as fishy can be! If you want to get jerked around, repeatedly lied to & pay way too much, this is a good place to go!

This took 3 visits to resolve with the first being a bit of a misdiagnosis. After that- that issue was resolved fairly easily. The second request was for fridge and freezer gasket replacement. This was (and still is) a complete disaster. The gasket has been changed, installed a second time, reordered, and reinstalled- without the issue being rectified. A heat gun was used by the tech at the initial installation to help the gasket expand. This damaged the inside of the door and the freezer compartment still isn't as it should be in terms of the gasket forming a proper seal. We were essentially told the issue with the seal had to do with "internal insulation degradation" and that there is nothing more to be done. We are left with the option to use paper towels to expand the gasket so it reaches the body of the freezer- still with no actual seal. No attempt to compensate for the time, effort, and lack of ability to fix the issue on the part of the company. The tech we dealt with is very professional, personable, and helpful, but the lack of the company's accountability for the job not being completed to a satisfactory level leaves me not so happy to recommend this company to anyone- particularly since the simpler of the 2 jobs we requested was the one that has still not been resolved. The cost of the services was also excessive given the number of times we had to have them out and the fact that it is still not repaired properly.
