PUSHY UPSELL - INCORRECT DIAGNOSIS - STRANGE FINANCE DEPT Did not have a very good experience with them. called for a fridge repair. the top freezer was leaking water into the fridge, dripping onto the top shelf. i looked online and the most common cause was a blocked freezer drainage line. I didn't feel comfortable attempting this myself so i called. The tech came in and did an inspection. he removed the freezer panel and tested the current with the multi meter a few times, then removed the drip tray from the fridge and looked at it. then tested the circuit again and said unconvincingly that the defroster sensor was blown. i sid it defrosts fine, there was no ice buildup, was he sure it wasnt a blocked line? he was certain and then made a quick high pressure sales push, with his calculator out real fast and said it would cost $450 with parts and labour to replace it. and since it was the week before Christmas to hurry up and decide or it would take longer to arrive I declined. paid the $89 service fee via e-transfer. Much to the tech's annoyance that i didn't have cash. i had to call the number, get the email address and send the transfer. i called a second company, owned by the tech himself. he came in, moved the fridge out, did a thorough test of the drain line, vacuumed the back, examined all the possibilities and determined the plastic drip tray had a small crack in it, hence the leak. he used duct tape. i asked about a replacement and he said it wasn't worth my money unless the crack somehow got bigger. he didn't even charge me his full service fee. Then i get a call from finance at express repair saying I hadn't paid my bill. When i provided a confirmation of the e-transfer she was satisfied. Very strange. I can't say for certain but it seems this company runs an Uber-like system. they have techs on call, not employed, but contracted out, and they may feel pressure to make an upsell. Also strange about the finance department not having a record of the e-transfer, or maybe some funny business? I'm suer they have good techs on rotation, but I didn't have a good experience with the pushy, uninformed tech and shady finance dept. he laughed when i told him about the censor suggestion. he told me to duct tape it read more

Sad to report that our experience with Express Repair was extremely disappointing. We called them to repair a refrigerator. They charged us $99 for the initial visit, which they told us would be waived if we proceeded with the repair. They diagnosed a broken part and then tried to sell us a used refrigerator instead. We declined and agreed to pay approximately $250 to have our existing refrigerator repaired. On the first scheduled repair visit, the technician arrived and told us they had ordered the wrong part and would need to order another one. On the second visit, they were still unable to repair the refrigerator, but charged us the full amount anyway. Once again, they tried to sell us another refrigerator. We reported the issue to the company. As you can see from their response to one of our previous reviews, the manager publicly asked us to call him and said he would resolve the situation. However, every time we called, staff refused to put us through to him, and our repeated requests for a refund went unanswered. We eventually filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputed the charges with Visa. Visa investigated the matter, determined that we had not received the service we were charged for, and refunded our money. Despite this, Express Repair continues to call us and send us new invoices demanding payment for a repair they never completed. Use this company at your own risk. read more

Very disappointing experience with Express Repair Inc. I called this company because my Café refrigerator/freezer was making a loud noise and had significant ice buildup. Their technician diagnosed the problem, replaced parts, and I paid for the repair. However, in less than a month, the exact same symptoms returned -- ice buildup and loud noise again. Now I am being told that there may be another problem, which makes me question whether the original diagnosis and repair were correct in the first place. I expected a professional company to properly diagnose the underlying issue before replacing parts and charging me for the repair. It is extremely frustrating to pay for a repair and have the same problem return almost immediately. Based on my experience, I am very disappointed with the service and would not recommend Express Repair Inc. unless they take responsibility and properly resolve the issue. read more

I posted an job on homestar and gave me a prompt quote but then harrassed me every day for an answer for 3 days (email and phone) and then emailed me to say I ordered the job and sending me a technician the following day without less than 24hr hours notice. I must revise this review Yevgeniy came my June 24 and July 21st my washer is still apart on my floor .The problem is the 3+ weeks it took to get part and the 3 + weeks it took to ask for another $150 for the part. Calls were rarely returned and almost felt ghosted. I would strongly reconsider if you are thinking of using this service. Of the $303. down payment - $87 refunded. Customer service was outrageously poor. Michelle the Manager refused to pass my grievances on to Igor her boss???? The person who did the repair was lovely, and did a good job. The person answering the phone, not so much. The word that comes to mind is FRUSTRATING!! I called to ask when the person would come, but could not get a straight answer or even a ballpark time. When I asked about getting my part expedited for delivery, and that I would pay extra, I got the distinct impression that the staff (and there were a few) felt that I was just a cranky old lady and "far too much work." The staff kept saying that I was a "priority client," although I have NO idea what that meant. None of the staff seemed to know what it meant either. Don't go with this group. Try ANYONE else. If I could have put in no stars, I would have. read more

Horrible experience. Took 30 seconds to look at the dryer, misdiagnosed the problem and tried to push me to order a new dryer from them. Kept receiving messages and calls for days later pushing to use their service. Got a second opinion and turned out it was a simple and cheap repair. DO not use this company. Also be careful, I used www.rightfix.ca to order service and they sent this company so I was not able to check reviews beforehand or I never would have used them read more

This company is completely unethical and fraudulent. I requested a washer diagnostic service, which was quoted for $99. The technician, Mohsen, was unprofessional and did not perform any form of a reasonable diagnostic process. The only action he performed was putting the washer on the quick wash cycle while staring at his phone the whole time. He did not use any diagnostic tools or inspect any of the components. As a result, the technician incorrectly diagnosed the issue as a faulty part requiring replacement of the part and labour, which was quoted for $500. When I questioned him why he didn't inspect any of the components before making the diagnosis, he said he "did not have time" to look into the components, even though the company's website claims they will always attempt to fix the issue on the first visit. Also, I later found out that the quote for the part was about 2x higher than the publicly available pricing for the part. Anyway, it turned out that the part was NOT faulty, and the issue could be fixed WITHOUT replacing any parts, as it turned out the pressure hose was just clogged and needed to be cleared, which if the technician had done any sort of proper investigation, he would've been able to identify and fix this issue on the spot. I raised my concerns with the company immediately after the service due to his unprofessionalism. Despite this, the company insisted on charging a full diagnostic fee and has stated they would send the invoice to collections, even though the service was not performed to any reasonable standards and the diagnosis was incorrect. In addition, I have concerns about the company's unethical conduct in handling this matter. Despite my formal dispute, I received repeated payment demands along with references to an additional $99 late fee and collections. The late fee was never disclosed in the initial agreement and is completely disproportionate and punitive to the original charge. During my discussion with the manager, Michelle, she insisted they properly diagnosed the issue and even claimed she had photographic evidence that the technician inspected the faulty part, but I know this was a complete LIE as I was observing the technician throughout the entire visit. When I pressed her about this evidence, she suddenly backtracked and stopped mentioning it as she could not provide any evidence. The explanations she was giving were also inconsistent when I questioned the diagnosis, and my concerns about the quality of the service were immediately dismissed by her without any meaningful investigation. This company has a pattern of similar complaints with BBB.org, TrustPilot, TrustedPros, and Yelp. Avoid this company at all costs! read more

I am very disappointed and do not recommend this company at all. You are a bunch of scammers. I called and explained to the lady that my Bosc dishwasher was not working gave her the model number with all the details and she said that she would send her expert guide to repair my dishwasher. an older gentleman. I told her that we were senior citizen and wanted to know if she could help me out. She sent me the techiica Yusp Sahatov The guy was a middle age man that all he did was nothing at all. Didnt have the serial number that i gave her and all he did was looked on his phone and did not even t try anything with the machine . He must of been at my home for about 5 minutes said that the part was discountinued and said that there was nothing that he could do and in the meantime sent me a bill I NOTICED SOMEONE THAT i wasnt the only one that was scammed These people are fraudulent scammers, avoid them. If you read the other reviews you'll see the pattern they follow to extort money for zero service. Here's how they scammed me. I called and gave them the make/model of the appliance I needed repaired or replaced, and asked if they supported that particular appliance. They said they did and would send a "technician" to look at it, the charge would be $99 which would be deducted from the cost of repair/replacement if I did the work with them. I agreed to the visit based on that. When the guy arrived, he didn't seem to know what he was doing, fiddled a lot with his cell phone, made a call to someone and spoke in a foreign language so I couldn't understand what he was saying. He then declared the make/model of my appliance was discontinued and they couldn't repair it. I asked about replacement options and he said they don't support the make/model (a contradiction from what I was told when I called them). He then recommended I go to Home Depot or some other appliance centre ! He was in my house less than 10 minutes. 5 minutes after he left I got an invoice via text for $99 plus tax. I tried calling them, 3 times, but each time was put on indefinite hold once they realized I was calling to ask for the charges to be reversed since no work was done. I subsequently started receiving threats that a collection agency would be engaged if I didn't pay them. I filed a review with the Better Business Bureau outlining all of this. They obviously troll that service (there are many similar reviews there, again it's a pattern). I got a phone call from them after a few days, the person was rude, accused me of fabricating what happened, and again demanded payment for absolutely no service rendered. Same story as others. Part ordered in June with 4-6 week delivery, but I phoned the manufacturer to be told unit was discontinued and part would never be supplied. She said part was coming and booked appointment next month (Aug 7) for installation, Express Appliance Repair of course No Showed), however they did bill me on Aug 7 $120 plus for the No Show appointment, and are refusing to make reimbursement for unavailable part that I paid $560.00 for in June, until I authorize payment for the appointment they No Showed. Nothing express about Express. l waited for the repairman to come to diagnose the issue with our washing machine. Do not go near these people, fraud, fraud, fraud. Zero stars. This is my second entry and it is the same story as everyone else. Need a part. Wait weeks. Part is discontinued, which I found out for myself in 5 minutes, took them two weeks. Two weeks later they want another service call to take the part away to see if the can fix it. So I call another service company and surprise, surprise, they diagnose the problem completely differently and have the part on hand. Its fixed and working in less than an hour. Seems the technician from appliance repair express had the wrong diagnosis. It gets worse of course. I paid half of the estimate up front and they have only refunded half of that. They are insisting that I pay for the original service call even though their technician was incompetent and I went without an oven for a month which I did not need to do so I am still fighting them for the rest of my money. I am fighting with "Michelle", not here real name I'm sure and she is full of platitudes and promises but I have not seen a single dollar of my refund. Scam artists - stay away! We engaged them because an igniter on our gas cooktop was not always igniting. The technician arrived and was here a short period of time. He concluded the igniter was fine and that it was just a couple of holes plugged that prevented the gas from properly distributing. That was remedied with a poke of a needle that I provided. Their site says $99 diagnostic fee...and they offer a $25 discount for first time customers. The technician tried to get me to sign for a fee of $275 -- I was given no estimate for additional costs to approveI. I said no way, call your office. I told them I would pay for fee for the visit but I was not paying $275. I was told they would send this to a collection agency. I then asked to speak to the manager. ZERO STAR. Do not trust this company. We called this company to check our washer issue, loud noise. After a few day, the technician came back and installed the new shocks absorber. While doing the test run, we oaid the remaining balance and soon after, we heard the exact same loud noise. Technician left without doing anything else coz he's running late for next appointment. We called the company right away and informed them that the issue wasn't fixed. After a few days of keep calling the company, they send the technician back. Technician did a test run again and now saying that we need to replace the bearing. We refused the service coz it will cost us sn extra $700 on top of the $500 we initially paid. Technician removed and took the new shocks absorber that was wrongly diagnosed. Right Fix Repairs (aka Express Repair) - Misdiagnosis Cost Us Over $2,300 - Avoid This Company! ***BUYER BEWARE*** We contacted Right Fix Repairs aka Express Repair for an issue with our washing machine, and while the technician (Yusup) arrived promptly, the service left us extremely disappointed. After diagnosing the problem, the repairman told us the main tub in the washer was cracked and needed to be replaced, quoting us $970 for parts and labor. We were given seven days to decide, but ultimately, we opted to buy a brand-new washer-dryer unit instead, since the cost was nearly the same. The next day, we purchased and installed a new stacked washer-dryer for $2,300, only to find that the original issue persisted once again. It turned out the real problem was with the plumbing inside the condominium wall AND not the washing machine at all! The technician's misdiagnosis led us to replace a perfectly good appliance unnecessarily. This was an incredibly costly mistake, and Express Repair's failure to properly assess the issue has left us frustrated and out thousands of dollars. We will never use this company again and strongly advise others to look elsewhere for appliance repair. ***BUYER BEWARE*** read more

I normally don't post reviews even with poor experiences, but I have to inform people of this company who are misleading and scamming people. They inform that the an inspection only would be $120 plus $25 off. This was for a heating issue for my dryer. They inspected and recommended I replace certain heating elements for $600+ labour cost. I would have just bought a new dryer so of course I declined. Then the technician said he will inspect some more and pressed a reset button at the back of the dryer and fixed the issue and charged me $270. Now when I try to use the dryer now, the tumbling is not working - which was working prior to inspection. I called them countless times and finally when I was able to speak to someone, they want to send the technician again and charge me even more money. I rather not deal with them again and now I have to pay more to fix an issue they caused. I regret not doing my due diligence prior to using Express Appliance Repair. Many red flags - There is no Google review because there is no physical address. Yelp reviews I found here afterwards are true. They do not have company email on their website. I can confirm all of the other terrible reviews (which I wish I had read before going with them). While the technician was a nice guy, he returned 4 times and misdiagnosed the problem over and over again with my leaking dishwasher. I now have a dishwasher with almost $700 in new parts that is continuing to leak. And I can also confirm that the manager is passive aggressive and rude. Stay clear! Over priced labour and mark up on parts. Rude tech servicing Simcoe area.

DO NOT call them to repair your dishwasher. I had decided to call Express Appliance Repair before I heard back from my condo's property management about who they recommended to call since I wanted it fixed ASAP. I told them about my dishwasher being a Porter & Charles one, and they said that it was fine. They sent a guy out here on the same day and I paid $95 for the service call. He concluded that the control board was fried and I needed a new one. I was instructed to wait for his follow-up call. He called me back two days later to say that the part was not available hence my dishwasher couldn't be repaired. I called Euro-Parts Canada myself and they said that they had the part in stock. They gave me the reference number and the price, and said that the tech should be able to order it no problem. I texted back the tech with all of this information and he read my text, but didn't text me back. I followed up with him again today and he simply said that he/his company are not working with Euro-Parts Canada. So I guess now I'm out $95 lol. I had already done this. So he had to order a part. When he came back and he went into the machine, he found out that a mouse had chewed the wire. He changed the part, kept the old part which may not have had anything wrong with it to begin with. At the end, I was taking too long to make a review. He takes my phone to put in the address but also puts a review in and I don't know how to change it. Then the hounding begins for payment. I didn't pay that night because I wanted to make sure the dishwasher worked. They called the next day, twice at my work and a text.
