We got an appointment and had to fly to Denver to take care of this. The agency is in a really nice area heavy on office buildings. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to get his passport same day and enjoyed killing time at the outdoor art museum. Not at all what I was expecting. Very happy with the service and the ability to get this resolved before our trip. Oh and helpful tip. If you're flying in/out of Denver don't make your itinerary too tight. We fly in the night before and had a flight out the next evening. Since the same day passports are picked up at 2 I was glad we didn't schedule it too tight. I walked into Ambassador Passport and Visa to submit a Chinese visa application, bringing my…read morepassport and a fully completed, printed COVA form directly from the official government portal. Instead of processing a simple submission, the representative claimed that my self-printed official COVA application was "old and invalid" and that I had to pay them to re-fill the application on my behalf. This tactic was used to push a package total approaching $1,000--comprising massive internal markups on top of the standard $140 government fee. When I realized the extreme fee markup and that my official completed form was entirely valid, I canceled the transaction on the spot and requested my original passport and paperwork back. The front desk staff became completely nonchalant and unresponsive until I firmly insisted on the return of my physical identification documents and a full cancellation. For context, standard mail-in visa couriers charge $150-$200 for submit-only handling. Claiming official government forms are invalid to justify mandatory $700+ internal form-filling packages is deeply misleading. Do your research before walking through their door--you can handle this process through legitimate mail-in agencies for a fraction of what they charge here.

I failed to do that and I paid 2 1/2 times what a family member paid using a local Safeway pharmacy. The consultation services I received were basically a regurgitation of what is on the CDC website. They do not accept insurance and their cost for the two vaccinations they recommended would have been over $500. Fortunately, I checked with my local pharmacy and found out that my drug plan covered the entire cost.
