If you have been trying to be Covid-cautious, I would urge you to stay away from this place and…read morehead directly to Kansas City Home Medical Supply at 105th and Metcalf. Upon walking into American Care Equipment, despite the sign enforcing masks on the door, at least three people were not wearing masks. One was a salesperson! Two were a couple together trying out chairs and as they left, the husband was literally blowing and spitting out of his mouth (he did not appear to have any mental issues - I observed his behavior the entire time as I guarded my mother with my body). The store was dirty with dirty masks lying around on the chairs. Crowded, no masks, no sanitizer. KC Home Med Supply was AMAZING!! Newer building, great and helpful MASKED employees. Sanitizer right when you walk in that they ask you put on before touching anything. HVAC system running loudly and very very clean. Will be purchasing from there.

Great customer service and very friendly…read more I called on my way there to see if they had any wheelchairs in stick to rent. I was lucky and they had several. They said they would have to all cleaned and ready for me when I got there. They asked if insurance was paying for it and I said I didn't know. They asked for my insurance and called them and got me preauthorized. They had me call my doctor and fax over a prescription. They also noticed it was my right leg that was broken and asked if I want a right leg elevator to rest my leg on. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they called my insurance while out in an open office area were everyone could hear my ID, group #, deductible, etc. I think they should have done that in a back office where it is private and no one else could hear my information. Besides that they were fast and easy to work with.

I give Curtis Taylor of Independent Home Solutions 10 gold stars for his assistance to us…read more Hi, My name is Steve Huckins, we purchased a used stairlift for my wife and I need help installing and troubleshooting the stairlift. We purchased a used Bruno SRE-3000 and have it partially installed. We had it operational before installing it. We can't get the charger to go from Red to Yellow or green. And no local stairlift companies will help us because it's a used unit. We really need help, Thank you, Steve & Ginger Huckins Curtis, That would be great as long as you service the Troy area. I just need help, the chair worked great before I took it off the rail to install the rail. I am having the darnest time getting any sort of help. Because it's a used unit. Long story short. Then when I initially put the chair on I did a break a part but I found it on line & replaced it. It was the SRE-30035. Then I put the chair back on the rail with that assembly & the cover off, so I could see and not damage that again. We just moved here and I'm just trying to make it so my wife can access the basement. Thank you, Steve & Ginger Huckins Unfortunately we are located in the Kansas City area and that's outside of our normal service area. However, I'm guessing from what you're telling me that you may have blown the fuse when taking the motor off the rail. If so it's a 5amp mini blade fuse which is located on the carriage of the motor. This fuse can be purchased at just about any auto parts store. Hopefully this information helps you out. Curtis, YES, YES, it was the fuse. Thank you, Thank you A 1000 thank you's. Words cannot express my appreciation for your help. Steve & Ginger Huckins Curtis, $5.00 for the 6 pack of fuses. I was prepared to spend $250-$750 to figure that out. I am speechless, thank you. Steve

Alec in pharmacy is the absolute best. Walked me through a convoluted medication process, helped me…read moreget the appropriate syringes and then made sure I knew what to expect when taking the meds. 10/10, no notes.

I was at CVS in Mission, KS a few days ago. I heard and saw the pharmacist yelling at a middle-aged…read morewoman because she took his photo. Not sure what lead up to it, but the behavior that I observed from the CVS employees afterwards was shocking, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. I heard him yelling at her repeatedly to "get out now" and "you need to leave" and that he was refusing to fill her prescription just because she took his photo. He yelled, YELLED at this woman multiple times about her photo of him being a "HIPAA violation." This was all total BS. It was not, in fact, a HIPAA violation. He was spewing nonsense and she knew it. I heard HER quoting HIPAA law. Correctly. She never raised her voice and never insulted him for his obvious lack of knowledge, professionalism, and empathy. He was inept and his behavior was just disgusting. And totally wrong. Someone who works in healthcare, especially at CVS (which has been extremely problematic regarding HIPAA law and lost several lawsuits over HIPAA violations) should absolutely know HIPAA laws. He obviously did not. This customer didn't violate HIPAA. She knew it and moreover the pharmacist knew it. He was attempting to bully her because he apparently didn't like that she took his picture. To top it off, the pharmacist then lied to the store manager in order to get the customer kicked out of the store. Just deranged. I heard this poor woman asking the store manager if she could continue to sit for a few more minutes because she was disabled. But, the manager didn't listen. Instead, the manager threatened to call 911, I'm assuming to scare her. These CVS employees are real garbage individuals. I ended up having to wait in line, but I looked for the woman when I left. I'm an attorney specializing in healthcare and HIPAA and I would love to represent her against: the pharmacist - Waqas, the store manager - Pamela, and CVS for human rights violations, discrimination, and slander. As for shopping at CVS, I will not be going back. I will literally go anywhere else and pay more the next time my son needs cough medicine. I regret not saying something to her in the moment. But, she was holding her own, as far as knowing HIPAA law. I just can't believe he wouldn't give her the medication and then lied to have her removed from the store. She did nothing wrong. How is anyone supposed to trust a pharmacist to fill a prescription correctly, if he doesn't even know the federal laws that govern his profession, his job? I have zero trust in this pharmacy after witnessing the blatant lying, buffoonery, and willful ignorance on display. I'd advise others to also steer clear.
