Be ware and stick to the proper hire companies like Hertz, Enterprise or Avis. These ones lack class and are very low. Likely have not been out of the country and therefore have a poor mindset and this shows in how they treat others. I have never been physically assaulted by a male - especially in a store / so-called service-provided.

My friend and I are two young women and it would be easy for tour agents to push for as many sales as possible, and it is something we have experienced in the past. However, we cannot recommend this family-owned business enough! They have such a vast knowledge of the Algarve and can recommend the best tours and trips to cater to your needs. Pam and Pedro even arranged a personal shuttle to take us to Praia de Marinha because it is very hard to reach by public transport and they wanted to make sure our trip could be the best possible. There is nothing they won't do to help clients and they are both so genuinely kind and friendly. Their English is flawless and we have hard tnem speak other languages as well, and their historical and cultural knowledge is so useful for tourists. We both wholeheartedly recommend this lovely business to any tourists or locals, regardless of party size or age - Pam and Pedro will go above what is expected to make your stay in the Algarve wonderful! They are funny and honest and will never try and push for a sale that isn't right for the client or that they do not recommend. I have never had a bad experience with car hires / rental cars…read moreanywhere in the world: South Africa, India, USA, Spain, etc. We rented a car here in Faro from Guerin (Alamo, Enterprise, National). They quickly inspected the car along with me. We noticed bumps and bruises but they said they were small enough and not to worry. We drove to our hotel for the day and back. Upon coming back, the employee opened the passenger door and noticed a light scratch on the inside edge of the door. I obviously disputed and he claimed it was new. No way I would've thought to review interior edges of doors on the initial inspection. Clearly a money grab. I will dispute the charges and keep everyone updated, but what a headache and dirty practice. I saw on other reviews that Guerin (Enterprise, Alamo, and National) do not return deposits or add more charges later as well. Please be careful and avoid this if possible. I saw reviews on several other local rent-a-cars that will avoid you the distress on your vacation and calls to insurance companies after to help dispute. What a mess. Update: been 2 weeks and they haven't responded to my calls or emails but went through with the charges on my credit card

Uns wurden Kratzer in der Felge und einen Schaden der nicht durch uns verursacht wurde mit über 200 EUR berechnet! Auch das Ehepaar vor uns wurde zur Kasse gebeten Manager hinzugezogen, was nicht geholfen hatte. Sehr unhöfliche Frau die den Mietwagen abgenommen hat!!. Man ist einfach machtlos . Ich hatte noch nie Probleme mit Mietwagenstationen. Bei der Abholung wird ohne vorher darauf hinzuweisen eine Mautgebühr erhoben. Ebenso wird darüber aufgeklärt das Auto sauber abzugeben sonst wird die Reinigung in Rechnung gestellt (Super an Portugals Stränden, da bleibt das Auto natürlich sauber!) My point is that you pays your money and you takes your chances. With that in mind, my experience with Airauto is a positive one. Booked a car for a week in May. Returned it after the week. No drama, no issues. The five star review has literally nothing to do with the car hire itself. Read on. On going through security at the airport I realised I'd left an expensive jacket in the car. I called them immediately and they confirmed the coat was there and said they'd hang on to it until I returned in July. My expectations were low and, sure enough, when I emailed them on my way down to Faro they told me that there was no trace. However, I dealt with a most helpful rep Helena Araujo who tracked the jacket down which had been sent to their Quarteria office and from where I was able to collect it a few days later. I cannot fault their customer service on this occasion and, all other things being equal, will use them again in preference to any other firm at FAO.

do not rent a car from this company!!…read more a puncture at night on the n125: no spare wheel in the car although the space for it was clear to see as were the necessary tools. a "24 hour emergency" telephone number which did not answer: three elderly holidaymakers stranded at the roadside at night and at considerable risk to their health, safety and well-being with no means of help or rescue apart from the kindness of a portuguese gentleman who stopped to help and drove me a considerable distance to a petrol station where i 'phoned for a taxi which was eventually able to take all three of us to safety. some difficulty in gaining reimbursement for the taxi fare which was in excess of 20 euros despite the fact that i had a receipt for the said sum. and, on returning to england, an e-mail from this appalling organisation attempting to extract funds for the puncture repair at the exorbitant cost of 169.95 euros! (which, needless to say, i declined to pay.) no apology as yet for the company's dangerous inadequacies nor for their heinous attempt at something tantamount to theft. i have written letters of complaint to the company itself, to the secretary of state for tourism, the secretary of state for consumer protection, the head of the albufeira municipal chamber and the head of the agency for the promotion of albufeira. i repeat: do not rent a car from this company!!!
