I felt…read morelittle agency over my body and felt I always generally looked the same regardless of if I worked out. Then I started at Orange Theory where the first time in my life I enjoyed "the gym" and met Camilo. I knew that my exercise was doing good for me but I knew little about nutrition and how really changing my diet could shift my body and health even more, so I decided to work with Camilo to learn and see what was possible. Camilo taught me to track my food, and about macros- how it's important not to eat less than your metabolic base, to eat enough protein to build muscle and boost your metabolism, and to cut carbs to a sustainable but lowered amount. I learned to track my steps and how to incorporate more walking into my day even though I have a desk job. I learned a lot more about lifting weights, and started lifting heavier than I've ever done and feeling stronger than I've ever been. It was not easy, but every week I lost about a pound. After 14 weeks I lost about 14 pounds roughly, went from 33.5% to 24.8% body fat, and lost about 1.25 inches off my waistline. Throughout it all Camilo was incredibly supportive. Through his biweekly check ins and just generally being on call to support when I had questions or felt frustrated and wanted to give up because I felt progress was too slow or too hard. I do generally feel he helped me learn to live in a way that I can sustainably lose weight if I want to and still enjoy my life - no starving yourself or enjoying that things that make you happy. It forced me to learn to make new recipes, understand portion sizes better, incorporate WAY more protein and ultimately drink less (which is one on my vices). I'm overall healthier and happier and I don't think I could have done it without Camilo's coaching along the way- he will be your constant cheerleader! I highly recommend. Even if it's just for a while to learn how to do it, it can be an empowering experience!
