A School That Has Become Family…read more I just want to take a moment to share how incredibly grateful I am for this beautiful school. My family has been part of this wonderful Montessori community for over 17 years. It all started with my oldest daughter, who was just a little one when she began here, and she was the first of my children to graduate from this amazing school and go on to kindergarten. The legacy continued with my other two children. My son, who is now almost 16, also graduated from this school before starting kindergarten, and now my youngest, who is one and a half, is continuing that same beautiful journey. I truly cannot recommend this school enough. I have been so incredibly satisfied with the care, love, and education my children have received throughout the years. The teachers are absolutely amazing, and the environment is such a healthy, positive, nurturing place for children to grow and learn. I also want to give a special thank you to Mrs.Effie , the owner, who has been so wonderful to me and my family throughout all these years. She has truly become such an important part of our family's journey. After 17+ years, this school is so much more than just a school to us -- it feels like family. I am so thankful that my children have had the opportunity to grow up in such a loving and beautiful environment.

Our child wasn't very interested in the play time that seemed to dominate most of their day, and the little education that was provided was far below what she already learned at home. We heard about the Montessori method and were curious. An extensive online search for good Montessori schools in Plano and Allen lead us to Montessori Children's House. Upon walking into each class during our tour, the difference was immediately clear. The children were each fully engaged in their own individual activity, it was quiet and the manners and behavior observed was very pleasing. We knew our child would fit in, and she's been very happy over the past couple months now. Besides the environment, the staff and Effie are excellent in addressing our needs and concerns. It is clear they each truly care about the development and advancement of each of their students.

They forewarn you that it may seem they aren't learning anything but it will show in a couple of years. That is crap. My daughter really wasn't learning anything because all she wanted to do was play & that's what they let her do all day. She was at another Montessori & learned more there in 3 mths then what she learned at MCHS in a year. I raised concerns with the guide like the director told us to & instead of trying to resolve the issue she just hated me & basically refused to talk to me. On 3 occasions I left messages for her to call me directly & she would say the answer to the secretary & that secretary would call me back, this became extremely frustrating when I had follow up questions. The director never believed how rude or callous her teacher was so I took a recorder to one of the parent teacher conferences to prove to her how she acted. As soon as it was my turn to go in she walked out her class to go get the director. The guide only said maybe 3 words while the director talked the rest of the time & answered questions I directed towards the guide. There was zero communication between myself and the teacher. I also had concerns about her coming home looking like she rolled around in a mud pit. Her pants and shoes had chunks of mud on them. MCHS never did anything about it. The guide dismissed us and the director just said that's how kids are. I spoke with at least 2 other parents who also had the same concern about the dirtiness. Yes kids can get messy but there is a line & adults should "guide" them to not get so dirty. They show you how some kids are solving complex math problems & other advanced projects but I guess it's only for their favorites because I never saw my daughter or anyone in her class do any of that. Also, her teacher told me that my daughter doesn't want to learn! I was shocked to hear such nonsense! Never ever has my daughter not wanted to learn! She is quite the opposite & all of her previous 4 teachers in other schools & current teachers can attest to that. They always are Surprised at how quickly & how much she wants to learn, even her Arabic teacher at DIS wants to put her in advanced classes. One time my mom sat in class to observe & she observed 2 kids pushing a little girl outside & locking her out. It took several minutes for the teacher to figure this out & my mom wasn't allowed to talk or "interfere" (as the guide said). When they finally brought the parents in to discuss what occurred they basically ushered them away from my mom when she greeted them. We knew those parents & finally told them the true story of what occurred (MCHS gave another version). I almost forgot my favorite complaint. My daughter was still perfecting her potty skills & one time she peed on herself & went to the bathroom to change. She couldn't get her pants off & was too shy to ask for help & she fell asleep on the bathroom floor for 10-15 minutes until the teacher finally checked in on her! I was so infuriated! What if she had fallen & busted her head open?! She would have bled out before they found her. Several times I picked her up with her pants soaked from urine. She has a change of clothes there & that witch just let her be wet in a 60 degree environment. My daughter had some of the worst rashes & colds because of this callous treatment. I would have been better off leaving her with a pack of monkeys than these guides. (At least the monkeys would lick her but clean!) It seems like they are just watching over the class but not really taking care of them or teaching them. I can't remember the teachers name. She's an older puerto rican lady. My daughter was at Garland Montessori where she learned a lot but the owner seemed too creepy for me. Now she is at Spanish House & we both love it. She learns sooo much! They have a Montessori way of teaching but with more guidance than MCHS (where the kids do whatever they want). I actually went to Spanish House last May & begged for a spot--i was 3rd on the waiting list. I told the director about the terrible problems we have at MCHS & she called me 2 hours later to tell me she gave my baby a spot so she won't continue to suffer at MCHS. Can I tell u I was sooo relieved & elated that I cried! SH has been the best move ever. She had attended their summer session previously & loved her teachers. The owners are this wonderful, sweet couple that also has their kids in their school. Now my daughter loves school. That being said, there are numerous parents that are happy with that MCHS but my experience was horrific. I would never recommend MCHS but others do. I'm just one untold experience. If she wasn't in SH I would put her in Dallas International School, that's where she takes her Arabic class & the teachers & staff I have interacted with are awesome.

Both of our sons have grown here, and the staff and administration continue to be amazing people who feel like extended family. Everyone really cares about your child at LMM, and the attention to details are beyond compare. They work hard to ensure the program is appropriate for each child. In addition to being invested in providing a great curriculum, they are committed to providing a well-rounded nutritional program daily. Even though our older child is now in public school, he asks to return to LMM for summer care and holiday programs. Our younger child continues daily at LMM, and we couldn't be more pleased. The administrators, support staff and teachers are all really wonderful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Previous Post (2014) We have both of our children enrolled at LMM, and have been part of this family for over 3 years now. We feel we've found a community where our children are nurtured every day. Our older son began Kindergarden this year and not only has he been fully prepared, but slightly ahead. I can't say enough good things about the team at LMM (teachers, support staff, and admin staff alike). I also appreciate so much the effort to ensure meal and snack time at LMM is a thoughtful endeavor in providing healthy choices for children. We are so thrilled that we've landed at LMM, and I whole-heartedly recommend this school to my friends and family (or to anyone willing to listen). :)

Addressed this issue on more than one occasion and it was never fixed. She would get put in time out and no calls were made to me. She was constantly put down for what she was doing wrong but never cheered on for doing good. Her behavior was so off when she would go to school. My final straw for pom was when they posted a video of all the kids and my child was off by herself looking sad not included in the activities all her friends were doing. She recently changed schools and is a completely diff kid. She's so happy, loves gaing to school and is earning so much. Can tell the teachers at her new school truly love what they do and love the kids!! Pom also has ridiculous supplies fee. $350 fee per year for supplies is ludacris. They also close down for a whole week between Christmas and New Years and still charge for the week that they are closed. I know a few other parents feel the same way because we have had conversations at parties and events. would not recommend this school! All they care about is $. They also bragged on having a Dallas cowboy players kid attending there school. They said the players name and everything which I feel is complete invasion of privacy.

We moved to Frisco from NY. We went through 2 daycares in NY before we started here. We checked out several montessoris before we signed up for Frisco Trails. There are fancier, more expensive options in Frisco. I wanted my daughter to be in a comfortable, safe environment that's also down-to-earth and not a five-star hotel. We were very happy overall with the montessori. There was some teacher turnover, but not a lot. They dont have too many more closed days than the federal holidays. Teachers paid individual attention to the kids. They have parent-teacher meetings few times a year to update parents on the child's strengths and areas of improvement. There would be time for study but also play, frequent fun activities. My kids bring home amazing crafts. Every week the toddles have a new learning theme, like continents, plants, oceans. They email us every weekend about a summary of the last week, and teaching lined up for the next week. My daughter has learned to read and write fairly well before she goes to KG. They don't have a fancy app to message parents, but in my past experience, updating apps takes up teachers' time and concentration away from their main focus on children. Emails have worked just fine. The teachers and administration are easy-going and generally accommodating. I put my younger kid here as well. She had frequent viral infections her 6 months or so, after that its been pretty smooth. This past winter was not bad at all.

After visiting several schools nearby, we still didn't feel completely confident--until we met Ms. Anjali. From the moment we spoke with her, we were 200% sure this was the right place for our kids. Ms. Syeda is a wonderful teacher--our 2-year-old daughter felt comfortable with her from day one. Ms. Shabana is equally amazing and brings a wealth of experience to the classroom. We are constantly amazed by the new things our children are learning every day!

She has high expectations for students, supports them tirelessly through the learning process, and helps every single one achieve wonderful things. We can't thank her enough. And in case you're worried about kids making the transition to traditional schooling once they leave Montessori, don't. Our little one transitioned to public kindergarten seamlessly and it looks like our younger one will too.

I used to work for The Community School of the Park Cities, and I witnessed three Lead Teachers…read moremistreating the babies & toddlers every day. They leaned all their weight against the babies when washing their faces in the sink (which can injure their organs), lifted them by one arm (which can dislocate their shoulder), grabbed them aggressively, shoved food in their mouths aggressively, made them stay in their cribs for several hours, yelled at them for wanting to get up or for crying, swaddled them when that's against the law in daycare, and spent a lot of time texting & talking on their phones instead of watching the babies. The Lead Teacher in the Toddler Room was very impatient & squeezed their shoulders when they didn't obey, instead of using redirection. I explained these things to the director, but she said, "It's going to be a lot of work to replace those teachers." I later asked her what she was going to do about the incidents & she said her lawyer told her not to talk to me about it, so I reported the incidents to Child Care Licensing. They visited the school, but weren't able to do anything because I didn't have pictures or videos. I asked the director to install cameras, but she said no. Something must be done to bring awareness to the parents. Those lead teachers are still there & the director doesn't want to make the effort to replace them.
