He said that the weak hinge was a problem causing the gate to not be even and that I needed a stronger hinge. The repairmen came by within a few days but an hour early when I may not have been there. He welded the new hinge and the problem was still there. The gate wouldn't close because the space wasn't there. The repairmen said he was only there to weld. He called the company to talk to me about this issue. The company called me and said everything looks good right? It was not. He and the repairman had a long conversation over the phone because he had to be somewhere else. The repairman after checking the closure, stated that a space/hole needed to be cut into the wooden pole to push the metal plate in. He ended up putting in the hole and it does close now. The repairman did really seem to try to fix the gate. Overall 3.5 stars. Positives: The initial service call and repair time was quick. The gate looks fixed and repairman who came out seemed nice and tried to make things right. Negatives: Putting in the new hinge didn't really seem to fix anything and felt like an extra cost still. On the phone, they tried to explain that they have a lot of experience with these gates and that the hinge needed to be replaced. With all that experience, why did they not see this other problem. After they fixed the gate, I then recalled that a different gate company in the past (for a different issue) told me the pole was the problem. Maybe I will use that company in the future instead. The company seems to track reviews closely. I got a call about my review within 15 minutes of posting. They wanted to find out what happened.

Today, I had the very unfortunate incident of the master arm of my garage door breaking as I was about to leave on an errand. There was a loud bang, a "what the...", and immediate groans while taking photos of the garage door hanging half open. I quickly found out that this was a homeowner issue, not the HOAs, so I took to Yelp and almost immediately found Garage Door Doctor. I called and spoke with Alex, to whom I explained my conundrum. He understood the urgency of my situation and said he will check with his team to see who will be available to come out to me. In the meanwhile, I texted him pictures of the damage and my address. Once confirmed, Alex texted me back that Danny will be on the way in less than 10 minutes. Danny showed up shortly after, took assessment of the situation, and let me know that the hinge hardware would need to be replaced ($1500) and could be done in a couple hours. My husband and I also asked to replace the springs since we didn't know how old they were, and they were $60/spring. True to his estimate, Danny and his partner worked efficiently and called for me in a couple hours to get the garage remote and test it out. They asked me to move the car out first (and they did a great job not letting the door fall on my poor trapped car). After a few open/close cycles, they made some adjustments and pointed out the structural shifts that's causing rubbing.
