Walk-ins are an hour long wait. I walked-in, and they told me they got me next, but it eventually began to be 2 people in front of me. The first person that was in the chair was a kid, which is understandable, but the second was a man, and he had a beard. How long does it take to cut a beard. Regardless, the communication for this place is a** when it comes to customer and barber. I warn you before you go to this place. I asked for a style and asked exactly how to book the style (by meesha) so that's what I did.. At the end of my appointment I looked at my hair and there was waaaay more length than we had discussed. I only wanted mid back. Ontop of that, the style had way too many curls making me look ridiculous and unproportionate. I'm 4'11 so the style didn't look cute on me. I asked for it to be cut shorter but Meesha said no & that it would "ruin the style" so I walked out and went to a different braider same day who cut the hair, redid any braids that came apart and removed all those crazy curls that didn't need to be added . I ended up paying both Meesha and a different stylist so I overpaid and I think it should've been fixed originally when I said something, even if it would've taken more time and effort. I'm not rude, I would've happily paid Meesha extra for her time . Oh well. Also no dipping at the end? Thought that was strange. I posted pics what I wanted (styled by Meesha) vs what I got. I had a great experience here getting my starter locs their first maintenance visit with Dotti the Loctitian she is wonderful. Takes her time, but is efficient, and does quality work. She is very knowledgeable about her craft and gives good advice for maintenance to this newbie in the dreadlocks life, which was much appreciated. She's also a great conversationalist if you don't want to just veg out in front of the TV during your visit, but she has that option available too for those who want to catch up on their favorite show while getting their hair did. I love the whole process from wash, conditioning, hot oil treatment, and the retwist process. Very professional and can't wait for my next visit! No greeting when we walked in. There were 7 barbers and no communication. When one was free "I" had to ask if he was available, he tells me he's waiting on an appointment to arrive. Another barber finished a head then walks away. I came to get my two sons hair cut and mine but with this kind of service, I'll go we're my money is wanted. Way to expensive, hints the name, and the service does not match the price tag!! There's only one or two barbers that can actually cut hair but , it's always challenging to get an appointment. Also , they raised their prices almost 40% during Covid and the service got worse! All they do is talk crap, and pause to answer text messages, not focusing on the actual haircut!! My husband just called to make an appointment and the guy who answered the phone seemed really irritated to get a phone call. When asked if open tomorrow, which is a Sunday, which says on yelp they are open, he said no, we have nothing available and then my husband said no I'm asking if you're open, and he said oh no no no we're not open. Today I had an early morning appointment with "L" for the first time. My last barber was a very long time friend and it took us years to find the right cut for me, and when we had a falling out, a big worry was that I'd never be able to find that cut again. First time there was last Monday June 30th. Words can not explain the amount of praise and respect I have for Danny. He is definitely a man who understands his craft and makes it into an art. The wait time was normal, they do accept appointments and walkins, so I imagine if you have an appointment you won't wait nearly as long as I did. I waited about 30mins, but time flew by. They have music, conversation, and plenty of magazines. Danny definitely took his time and made light but humerus conversation. The prices are easy enough: The line up - $5 basic clean line up The Cesar - $15 basic cut all one length no tapper/fade (includes the line up) The Trim - $15 nothing off the top just taper and fade the sides and back (includes the line up) Relaxer - $45 - jerry Premium cuts - $25 - designs and fohawk etc... Now, the prices may very depending on the barber, each barber has their own schedule and their own booking service through genbook.com. Each indicated price above has 15-20% increase depending on what you want done and who's gonna do it. Danny was cool enough to honor the listed price inside the shop. So why the four stars, for one they don't accept debit or credit cards. Two, I felt bad that the prices aren't consistent. I made my next appointment so I don't have to wait, but then realized I may have either underpaid or under tipped. I'm sure they just haven't gone through hassle of updating their poster out front, but you wanna' feel like you're taking care of your barber, because they are takin' care of you. I called on the phone 30 mins before getting there to make sure I can get a cut today, I was told over the phone to come in at 5 by someone named Danny, I arrived at 4:45 and waited until 5:40 to get told to go home because I didn't have an appointment, after explaining that I had prior arrangements with Danny over the phone, I was told that Danny wasn't in the shop today and that i had basically wasted my time, if that was made clear the moment I got there I could've easily went elsewhere but since I waited there for nothing, all the other surrounding shops were also closing, leaving me without a haircut on an important day due in-part to the horrible service that they provided. read more
