The original dispute began at Animal Kingdom when a ride was down as we tried to use our paid Lightning Lane access. I asked for a replacement pass. The interaction escalated into residency questions after I mentioned we had flown in. We had flown from Myrtle Beach as part of this two-state graduation trip and had one-way plane tickets documenting the journey. Then we were stopped at Epcot because of Tyler's note. Other members of our group were subsequently cleared after providing documentation. Yasmine remained blocked. She had turned 18 less than 30 days earlier and had been an annual passholder with us for years. I accepted that turning 18 meant she could be required to provide her own residency proof. What I challenged was why she had to provide a Florida-issued ID when the other seven members of our group were cleared without one, and Disney's website lists alternative residency documents. During this ordeal, Yasmine and her friends were made to sit outside in the heat for three hours. Later that day, they passed out and became severely ill after that prolonged heat exposure. Disney wanted approximately $500 for Yasmine to enter for two days. This was supposed to be a celebration of their graduation. These are the memories we were left with instead. I escalated our complaint. On October 5, Rick from Executive Correspondence called. When I asked about the different documentation requirement, he said Disney had the right to ask. He told me the website required one of three Florida IDs. I read him the provision allowing alternative proof of residency. He said he was looking at the website and did not see what I was seeing. He repeatedly disagreed that we had been discriminated against and refused compensation or a refund. I still did not receive a specific explanation of why Yasmine's documents were insufficient under the published alternatives. We canceled. You do not have to be a Florida resident to care about how a company handles a family's problem. Consider how you would feel arriving at another park and finding that an earlier dispute now prevented entry, then discovering that even an executive escalation could not get you a clear explanation. Our experience left me feeling that Disney was more concerned with keeping our money than meaningfully addressing what happened. And I mean that in the absolute worst way possible. It's aggravating and disappointing to see how greedy Disney has become. Why does a bottle of water cost $4? Why am I paying $15 for a small bowl of soup? I understand the whole concept of Disney being magical, where dreams come true and you're paying for an experience, but there no has to be a limit. Once ticket prices started climbing past $150, I pretty much refused to pay those ridiculous prices. The only way you're getting me into these parks anymore is with a free pass! Over the years, I've definitely been fortunate enough to receive my fair share of complimentary Disney passes. This time around, my girlfriend's boss had to leave a day early and could no longer use his pass, so he transferred it to me. Honestly, that was such a thoughtful and generous thing to do, especially considering he didn't even know me! So, my two girlfriends and I spent the day at Disney on and off very rainy day. One of my biggest annoyances, though, is how Disney handles Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Since it's October and the Halloween event requires a separate ticket, anyone who doesn't purchase one has to leave the park at 6 p.m. So, please explain to me why you're charging people full price for a regular park ticket when you're kicking them out early and they're missing some of the biggest events of the night, which is the fireworks! Make it make sense. It honestly feels like a money grab, especially when you consider how much you've already paid just to get through the gates. My girlfriend actually tried to get tickets for the Halloween party, but unfortunately, it was sold out. I absolutely LOVE visiting anything Disney-related during Halloween season because Halloween is my favorite holiday, so missing out on that experience was disappointing. I genuinely don't know how families afford Disney anymore. Sometimes I wonder how many people are putting these trips on credit cards and going into debt just to make those magical memories. A weeklong Disney vacation for a family must cost an absolute fortune once you factor in park tickets, hotel accommodations, food, drinks, and all the extras. Would I visit Disney again? Absolutely, especially if someone else is footing the bill! But paying out of pocket for an entire week with a family? I'd probably be living off ramen noodles for the foreseeable future. Honestly, at this point, I'd seriously consider going to Paris and visiting Disneyland Paris instead. You might get an entirely different experience for your money, and at least you'd get to visit another country while you're at it. Disney will always have a special place in my heart, but the magic is getting harder to justify when your wallet is the one taking the biggest hit.

A SERIOUS TRANSPORTATION & EMERGENCY-EGRESS CONCERN AT MAGIC KINGDOM…read more I absolutely love Magic Kingdom, but I believe Disney needs to seriously reconsider how guests travel between Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). Tens of thousands of guests can leave the park within a relatively short period. If approximately 20,000 guests need to reach the TTC during a concentrated departure period, the existing transportation system can become severely overwhelmed. When the monorails and ferries are operating normally, guests can divide between the two systems. But when the monorail is unavailable, thousands of people become dependent on the ferries. Consider just one hypothetical scenario: * 20,000 guests need to reach the TTC * Three ferries are operating * Each carries approximately 600 guests * A complete ferry cycle takes approximately 12 minutes Even under these optimistic assumptions, it could take approximately 135 minutes to move the entire crowd--and real-world loading, unloading, crowd movement, strollers, wheelchairs, children, and other delays can make the actual situation substantially worse. A guest leaving Magic Kingdom around 9:15 PM could potentially find themselves still trying to reach their vehicle close to midnight. That should not be an acceptable possible outcome. More importantly, I believe Disney should examine this from a life-safety and emergency-egress perspective, not merely a convenience perspective. The current system relies heavily on mechanically and electrically powered transportation. If a major emergency, power failure, mechanical failure, fire, severe weather event, or other incident simultaneously limits these systems, what independent high-capacity means exists for tens of thousands of guests to safely reach the TTC? I am not claiming that this necessarily constitutes a fire-code violation. That determination should be made by qualified fire/life-safety engineers and the appropriate authorities. However, the question deserves a serious formal review: Does the current transportation infrastructure provide sufficient independent emergency egress capacity if the monorails and ferries are simultaneously unavailable? A dedicated pedestrian bridge could address both the transportation bottleneck and this potential life-safety vulnerability. A roughly 15-foot-wide pedestrian bridge could provide hundreds of pedestrians per minute of independent capacity without relying on propulsion systems, electricity, or mechanical transportation. Instead of: Monorail + Ferries Disney could have: Monorail + Ferries + Pedestrian Bridge The bridge would provide: * A completely independent transportation option * Additional capacity during normal evening crowds * A backup when the monorail fails * A backup when ferry operations are disrupted * An emergency evacuation/egress option * Improved accessibility and reduced crowd congestion * Greater resilience for the entire transportation system This isn't about replacing the monorail or ferries. It is about redundancy. Disney invests enormous amounts of money creating attractions that guests remember for years. A pedestrian connection might not be as exciting, but it could benefit millions of guests and potentially provide an important layer of emergency resilience for decades. I strongly encourage Disney to conduct a professional feasibility and life-safety study of a dedicated pedestrian connection between Magic Kingdom and the TTC, including engineering, crowd-flow, accessibility, environmental, fire-code, emergency-egress, and cost considerations. The Happiest Place on Earth should have a transportation system that remains safe, reliable, and functional even when mechanical transportation fails. Please seriously consider building the bridge.

Bad; parking cost, cost of a ticket now, terrible food for the price they charge, parks like magic kingdom have no where to get out of the heat (people with small kids should be very aware of this), animal kingdom was a bit better; long waits at the major attractions (some over 70/80 minutes, you have to buy the lightning passes the day before at least and spend an extra $100 a day or more for a family, difficulty getting food due to quantity of people, Recommendation; do Disney it is remarkable, plan a lot before being there and get lightning passes, be careful with small children and get good fans that can last the day, wear light clothes (for the hot months), make sure you have a poncho for the rain or be wet, understand the cost for food and just accept it, use the ferry instead of the monorail when you leave, drink a lot of water, I would park to the preferred lot for an extra $25 dollars.

Everything feels very "crammed" together--tight, crowded, and packed in. Add the long lines and the lack of shade in this particular park, and at times it can feel almost unbearable. That being said, it's still Disney, and there's really nothing that can compete with that. Personally, I highly recommend Tower of Terror, one of my favorite rides, and the newly revamped Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, now themed to the Muppets. And for Star Wars fans, the Star Wars area is simply incomparable. You really feel like you've been dropped right into the movies. Toy Story Land is a must with little ones, although I still feel like something is missing there. Maybe it's just me... We'll see what happens when the long-awaited Monsters, Inc. area finally opens. As always, my recommendation is to bring your own snacks and something to eat, because food inside the parks is ridiculously expensive. And definitely bring a refillable water bottle! There are several water stations throughout the park with bottle-filling taps, so you can easily refill it instead of buying.

There is no admission ticket required to enter the park, which I really like. You can either buy tickets for individual rides or get a pass if you plan to visit more often. The ride attendants follow the height requirements pretty strictly, which is good to see. There is also a large cafeteria, and the food is okay, not anything special, but convenient when you're there with kids. The annual pass is definitely worth it for us. It's a fun place to spend a few hours with little kids without feeling overwhelmed or exhausted, and older kids can enjoy it just as much.

From the very first moment, the floating mountains completely stop you in your tracks. Pictures don't do them justice. Standing beneath them while waterfalls cascade below and vines wrap around the massive rock formations creates one of the most believable themed environments Disney has ever built. Every direction offers another incredible photo opportunity. What really impressed me was the attention to detail. Giant alien plants, strange wildlife, weathered pathways, and even the smallest rock formations make Pandora feel like a living ecosystem instead of a movie set. The Imagineers clearly obsessed over every inch of this land, and it shows. Then there's Avatar Flight of Passage. The queue deserves almost as much praise as the ride itself. Disney doesn't simply have you standing in line, they immerse you in the story. As you move through caves, laboratories, and the Avatar Program research facility, you're constantly discovering something new. From the massive Mountain Banshee skeletons to the scientific equipment, the incredible Avatar floating in the laboratory tank, and countless hidden details, the queue becomes part of the attraction rather than just a wait. Because you're always exploring and taking in the environment, the line feels noticeably shorter than it actually is. Disney also made the queue surprisingly practical. About midway through, you'll find a restroom, along with a water fountain and bottle refill station, so you can take a quick break without having to leave the line. It's a thoughtful touch that makes waiting much more comfortable, especially on a hot Florida day. Most of the line is under the shade. And then you board. Flight of Passage is simply one of the greatest theme park attractions ever created. The sensation of linking with your banshee and soaring across Pandora is incredibly convincing. The movement, visuals, wind effects, scents, and breathtaking musical score combine into something that feels more like a real adventure than a theme park ride. By the time it's over, you'll probably already be planning your next ride. One of my favorite aspects of Pandora is that it rewards people who slow down. Instead of rushing from attraction to attraction, take time to wander. Look up at the floating mountains. Listen to the waterfalls. Notice the alien vegetation and hidden pathways. Every corner feels alive, making the land itself just as much of an attraction as the rides. We also had lunch at Satu'li Canteen, which was another highlight. The food was fresh, flavorful, and a refreshing break from the usual theme park fare. The Ocean Moon Bowl was packed with flavor, the Cheeseburger Pods were unique and fun to try, and both desserts, the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse and the Mangkwan Mousse--were outstanding. It completed the immersive experience perfectly. Myself and my Son both enjoyed Pandora and will return. If I had one criticism, it's simply that Pandora leaves you wanting more. With only two attractions, you can experience everything relatively quickly, but the world itself is so breathtaking that you'll find yourself lingering just to soak it all in.

Otherwise, it's just a bunch of funky psychedelic fake plants and what not. The floating mountains are the main showstopper with their massive rock formations covered in vines and waterfalls that look like they're defying gravity. It's the kind of thing that makes you feel like you've actually stepped onto another planet. During the day, it's lush and colorful but at night, everything glows with bioluminescent lights which turns the area into this dreamy, neon wonderland. There are only two rides here but they are among the park's most popular. There's Flight of Passage and then the Na'vi River Journey, with the former being much better than the latter. Both attractions always have super long lines, but I'm not so sure that's a sign of their overall quality more than the fact that AK doesn't have many rides to begin with. There are some Avatar-themed food options that are creative and the atmospheric music adds a lot to set the tone. This area of the park is newer so that also means it was well designed for crowd control and flow. It never seems overly crowded over here.

My two year old was probably a bit confused about what was going on when we climbed into our safari vehicle, and I'm not sure she was totally on board throughout the ride to be honest. Although we've been to Lincoln Park Zoo, she was very very young at the time and would not remember being this close to an animal that wasn't on the level of a dog, snake, or turtle. So whilst I think being mere feet from giraffes, elephants, and wildebeests was unexpected, she said she enjoyed it. The driver was informative and didn't make the embarrassing jokes that the "captain" of the Jungle Cruise did, for which I'm thankful. In addition to the aforementioned animals, we came across black and white rhinos, lions, hippos, cheetahs, flamingos, and more. The ride was leisurely and comfortable, and there's no height requirement so anyone can ride. This was a lot of fun to start our first visit to Disney World. It's a very popular ride, apparently. 45+ minute wait times are not uncommon. We used a lightning lane to cut through most of it but we did have to wait 10 minutes or so before we got on. I'd definitely recommend lightening lanes for this one!

We had the perk of a free water park admission on our check-in day, so of course, we wanted to check out the Disney excellence at Blizzard Beach. The entryway almost feels like you are in Arendelle! A cute photo op of melting snowman taking a photo in Disney attire! Plenty of slides. Tons of seating areas. You could easily enjoy an entire day in this waterpark!

Unfortunately, a heavy downpour cut our visit short, so I didn't get to experience everything the park had to offer. There were plenty of chairs throughout the park, although I did notice there weren't many covered areas. Despite the weather, I thought Blizzard Beach was a fun experience and a great way to spend a Disney resort check-in day. I especially appreciate the complimentary water park admission offered to Disney resort guests on their arrival day. I would definitely recommend taking advantage of that perk and would love to return when the weather is better!
