Before purchasing a 1959 Corvette C1 project from Anthony Lahner, I was warned by several people to be careful. Despite those warnings, I chose to trust him. I paid the agreed purchase price without negotiation, provided a deposit immediately, and completed the transaction in good faith because I genuinely believed I was dealing with an honest seller who was going through a difficult period. At no point during the purchase process did I have a bad feeling. Even after discovering the issues, my first reaction was not to leave a negative review. Instead, I personally visited Anthony's shop in Los Angeles during a later trip to discuss everything face to face and give him every opportunity to resolve the situation privately. My understanding of the transaction was that I was purchasing a complete 1959 Corvette C1 project vehicle with the associated parts and components. What ultimately arrived in Germany was substantially different from what I believed I had purchased. The shipment consisted primarily of the fiberglass body shell, the windshield frame, the hood, and a limited number of smaller parts. The shell arrived damaged because the frame that i have purchased it was removed by him at the airport and then the body just tied to some wood. Many components that I expected to be included were not present. Among them were various chrome, trim pieces, interior components, mounting hardware, and numerous other parts that I understood to be part of the project. The result was that I was left with a major restoration challenge and significant unexpected costs to source, repair, or reproduce missing items. What disappoints me most is not the financial loss. It is the fact that I genuinely tried to solve the issue privately, respectfully, and directly. During our conversation in Los Angeles, I believed we had reached an understanding and that the outstanding matters would be addressed. Unfortunately, after I left, communication gradually stopped and my subsequent messages went unanswered. I guess he just wanted no scene in front of his clients. All relevant details were documented in a written agreement. Unfortunately, being based in Germany while the seller is located in the United States created a legal hurdle that I initially did not want to take on. However, after years of trying to resolve this matter respectfully and privately, I have now decided to pursue the appropriate legal and criminal remedies available to me in order to protect my rights and address what happened. I sincerely wish Anthony Lahner all the best. However, after everything that happened, I would not personally do business with him again. read more

The rim was brand new and had never been repaired. Sadly you cant own your own responsibility. Your team attempted the repairing cracked the rim. You even c j arged me for it. You were upset that I was having different pieces on my land rover painted at a price your team quoted. When you discovered it prevented overcharging for complete paint packages you made it clear I couldn't do that anymore. Terrible business and ethics. You get one start cause I cant give 0. read more

I already posted previously that I got a good recommendation about Anthony but boy was the recommendation wrong as he did a ppf on my brand new Porsche Turbo S and a later had other work completed and that other shop questioned who did the ppf as they said the work was HORRENDOUS. Also Anthony is horrible at dealing with problems including not returning calls and texts for weeks as he just buries his head and wishes for the problem to go away magically. So I needed to chase his endlessly for weeks and he made one stupid excuse after another. There are so many other competing shops - BEST TO STAY AWAY and don't risk it here. Yes, there are some great comments below but there are many horrible comments too and they are all consistent about poor work and even worse communication skills by Anthony. This guy is in the wrong business and also should not be the owner. Better for him to be in the back and not talking to customers. The crazy thing is that I am sure Anthony could have spent the $1,000 to $2,000 to resolve all the various complaints but instead he doesn't care and I am sure loses 10 times as much from lost business from people reading these complaints and going elsewhere read more

Brought an Exotic Mercedes here years ago. Minor bumper damage, they painted the whole car, undid the doors and pretty much screwed everything up. Doors are unaligned. Trunk is unaligned. Pain job is crap. Mercedes asked who did such a crappy job. Used aftermarket parts. Couldn't even assemble a mirror correctly, pressing up goes down and vice versa. They're crooks. Stay away. Mercedes SLS gullwing that you did back in 2015/2016. You remember well. Trash service. Just deny the crap work you did is your only option. read more

Trying to avoid an idiot I clipped a corner curb and scrapped my rim pretty bad, including taking out a couple decent sized chunks of alloy. I thought the rim was a goner and immidiately started researching the purchase of new OEM rim, but not wanting to pay BMW dealer prices. On a whim I stopped by Exoticar just to see if it was repairable. They said it was fixable and quoted me a price too good to not give them a shot. I brought my car in the next morning and a few hours later it was ready. I got to say, I was really impressed - looks brand new. They did an awesome job and a little under the 1st $ quote. I have small, barely noticeable ding that bothers me and I'm definitely gonna have them fix it -also way under $ what the dealership wants. I don't have a before pic (I was too angry) but here it is all happy shiny :) read more

Cannot recommend this place enough!!! Anthony is seriously amazing and a lifesaver!! I'll definitely be back for all of my auto body shop needs!! When someone slashed both rear tires on my car, he kindly rescued my car from nearby with spare tires he had and held my car in his shop until the tires i ordered online arrived (saving me lots of $$ on potential parking tickets because I was just planning on leaving my car on the street, coming back to pay the meter here and there and hoping for the best). He fixed both tires with a breeze in under 45 minutes!! He 100% did not need to help me, especially with such a small job, but I am so grateful he did and that people like this exist in this world. THANK YOU ANTHONY AND EXOTICAR!!! Don't hesitate to bring your car here, you're in great hands!! read more

Anthony runs the best auto repair shop in LA. Family owned, honest and trust worthy prices and exceptional, excellent work. I've taken 4 luxury cars here (R8, Bentley, 911, X Plaid). They've repaired all of them in a short time (1 week or so) from a busted taillight, break lights, tire damage, door dents, paint scratches and more. The cars would come back brand new. Once the door squeaked on the 911 after fixing it, so they said I can come in any time to fix it same day (and fixed it). They also would install license plates and small stuff for me for free on the side when I needed a favor. I'm a younger women with no much hands on car experience so I appreciate the help. They also are honest -- they send transparent quotes of the parts, labor, etc. Finally they have integrity --- they charged me less than a quote once cause they were able to fix it with less labor than the estimate stated. That is UNREAL in auto repair! When I would shop around for quotes, other shops in the area and in Valley would quote me 50-100% higher. Anthony and his team are the best, and I'll always keep doing business here and sending clients as my referral. I see a ton of exotic cars always in their shop, which is clean, organized and secure. They have some top tier celeb and high net worth individuals as clients, for good reason! Thanks Exoticar! read more

came in to get my rim repaired after hitting a pothole - Anthony said he'd have it done in a few hours, job wasn't done until near the end of the day upon further inspection once it dried it looked like there was overspray b/c I could see some paint dripping then later when I tried to get a receipt/invoice that I could submit to the city for reimbursement, it took multiple calls to get him to send it to me Anthony is a nice guy and I can tell he cares about what he does, I just think he needs to hire help like a secretary or something vs. running the whole shop by himself didn't go back to try and get the overspray fixed b/c I figured he was too busy to get to me read more

Thanks Anthony and team! My R8 had a broken taillight and some dents in the back, plus a broken arm rest holder as the lid snapped off from my dog. It took a few weeks for identifying parts & finishing repairs but the job was perfect and excellent! Only feedback is they mentioned it'll take 1 week in shop, but it took more 2.5-3 weeks (totally ok, just wish I knew cause my rental was a large car hard to drive haha!). I'd probably get a smaller rental that is easier to navigate. read more

Had a bad case of curb rash and found this place just down the street. Anthony the owner was very responsive via email, asked me for pics, and gave me a very fair quote. I dropped the car off in the morning and was completed just as promised, and the work was great. I would certainly recommend Exoticar! read more

Thank you to Anthony for helping me out on short notice! Great service and communication - will be back for future needs!

Highly recommend this shop. I curbed my wheel pretty bad on my 24 911. Despite being busy, Anthony was able to squeeze me in the same day I called. Wheel is good as new. Also had the pleasure of speaking with his father while I waited, who was a Porsche mechanic way back in the day. All in all a great experience. Will do business with Exoticar again. read more

Excellent customer service! I brought in my car to repair the rim I curbed. They gave me a price over the phone and when I got their they did not try to pull a fast one and change the price. Overall not only were they honest, gave fast service (they fixed it the same day even though they were packed), they also did a great job. Looks good as new. I really appreciated the straight forward business (hard to find repair shops that are not crooked) I called a few before I came here. Thank you so much Exoticar! I attached before and after pictures of my rim. read more

The finish work is just ok. Be prepared for delays, damage to your vehicle, missing parts, poor communication and updates, failure to accept responsibility for mistakes made, blame you for problems, and outright lies. 6 series BMW: 4 months! to detail, wrap and powder coat wheels. Wheels had to be balanced elsewhere for more time/expense. Car returned with cut dashboard-blamed me for bringing it in that way (BS) and then blamed it on the sun. They finally did fix it-more delays. Wrap is now peeling off. 3 series BMW: car returned after more than a month! from detailing with work done that wasn't requested (boosted the bill), work not done that was requested, missing parts, damaged car while moving it around in their facility, and damaged wheels requiring more work elsewhere for more time/expense. Sorry that I trusted this company with my cars. read more

Anthony is the man! An honest and reliable body shop, that statement is only true here!

Alex and Anthony are amazing. I cannot say enough great things about my experience at this shop and with them. I had some body damage on my SUV and the repair they did was amazing. Not only do they do quality work, they helped me get rid of some damage I did on my rental car as well! My car also came out spotless and washed when I picked it up. I was a long supporter of Golden Hammer, but this will be my new body shop! Highly recommend! read more

I contacted Exoticar because of the great Yelp reviews and I am VERY happy I did! Anthony the owner is a great guy. I went to Exoticar with a recommendation to fix a minor dent and scrape, as well as three wheel rashes that plague the Tesla M3. Anthony and Alex totally looked after me, giving me a great price and a fantastic job. What's more, they finished two days *early!* Not to downplay the job and the cost, but that really is a step above. And, they're a good crew that's a pleasure to deal with. For as long as I live in a place that needs a full lock and full reverse lock to get into my garage, and as long as I have wheels that stick out further than the tire, I'm going to need bodywork, for better or worse. I've found my guys. read more

I know others have touted attention to detail, but the experience I had with Anthony and my '63 Lemans convertible was *completely* different. I didn't hear back for 2 weeks after drop off, so I called. Not a big deal, since they could have been very busy. He said he wouldn't recommend doing the work and said the pre-purchase inspector missed a number of issues. I arranged for a tow (b/c of rear suspension issue). He said he'd put the battery on a trickle charger beforehand and I reminded him the day of pickup. It never happened. It showed up to my house dead - turned the key and just got a click. Had to push it into its spot and ruptured my achilles in the process. He also said he'd email me, "a bunch of pictures on his phone," of the things he saw underneath, to show why he advised against the repairs and the problems that were missed in its pre-purchase inspection. After asking him 3 times, I still haven't gotten them. And it's been 3+ weeks since I reminded him last. They may be great mechanics, but I can't vouch for that. All I can speak to is the fact that Anthony didn't live up to either of his commitments, despite multiple requests (and reminders). read more

I met Anthony Lahner in 2009 when he had a mobile business and came to my home and did the work there....can you say convenient!? Anthony was extremely professional and did an excellent job on my BMW rim. You would of never known that I even scratched the rim. (see pics). We met again in 2013 at his first shop when he fixed my Alpina B7 rim.....again, looked brand new. (see pics). And now its 2015...and I needed to fix my diamond forged rims...which can be more tricky then your standard rims. I went to the new location....sooo nice and big!? I went less then a block away to grab a starbucks, sat and waited in their nice lobby on my computer with their wifi. An hour and a half later, my car was done and my rim looked like new. (see pics) Obviously I don't want to have to call Anthony....but if there is anyone I trust more with my cars, its him. I'm a "stock" car kind of girl....but he does some awesome modifications. He's super busy, yet easily reachable, he gets back to me right away whether text, email or phone. Highly recommend. read more

Holy cow! Talk about top of the line. For door dings and wheel repair, this place is truly the luxe of Los Angeles (maybe in the world). Anthony is a great owner and at the end of our consultation, asked if I need a ride home! Nothing but great experiences here and my wheels are brand new like nothing ever happened! Prices are so reasonable that I tend to come back here every year to get my car touched up. There's nothing they can't do with wheel repair and paint. read more

Alex on the team is also amazing. I was coming hear for small stuff like curb rash, tinting, etc. Then my car, Tesla, got in a bad accident where the driver door was almost torn off completely. I needed to bring it somewhere I trusted to repair. Exoticar did not disappoint and in fact surpassed expectations.
