He will give you his cell phone number and say "text me any time" but when you do, he will take three days to respond or just won't respond at all. He does however respond very quickly when it comes to money or rent or when you get mad enough to yell at him. I lived in the upstairs unit of this house for two years and both winters the heat went out at least once if not two or three times. He has not replaced the furnace so I fully expect the heat to go out again this winter. Hope you have lots of blankets and a space heater or just somewhere to go until he gets around to fixing it. The place itself is cute, the rent is cheap, the location is great and it was an easy drive to my work. The girl who lives in the downstairs unit of the house is really nice. If it wasn't for those things I nags I would have moved a little my time ago. If after reading this you still choose to rent from this man, then good luck to you. He is a petty asshole and charged me $100 out of my security deposit for basic cleaning (vacuum and wet mop).

We put $200 down, and they painted, put down fresh carpet and renovated just for us. It was great. The catch: they were about 2 weeks late, and we were lucky we could stay in our current place. Maintenance was perfect and reasonable. And, when my wife and I found a house to buy and move into halfway through our lease, they worked with us so we had no penalties or fees, and we moved out early. Like with good rental agencies, if you pay on time, they work with you. We were extremely happy.

It wasn't a bad apartment for the cost, but it was in a very old building. There was only two stories and the interior decor and furnishings looked reminiscent of the 70s maybe. Many of the Amber apartments now of course are much nicer and have town houses and condos available to rent now. I had a small bedroom with one small bathroom, but it had a long closet in the hallway, which was part of the living room area. The kitchen was fairly small as well, but functional. It surprisingly had a large dining area that fit my 12 seater table. Don't see much updates to the old apartments since then. It isn't the nicest or most luxurious the most updated apartment, but it worked for six months. If you intend to stay longer, I would advise otherwise.
