The bar was packed but could see the bartenders taking care of people in a timely manner and did not see a two people deep situation you might see on a Saturday night. Lots is table seating as well as seating at the huge bar. There was live music and a small area for dancing. Past the stage they have an area for gaming. Video games, darts, and pool tables. All the pool tables were taken with a lively group of people. After a quick walk around we went and waited by the kitchen door area and soon our pizza was ready. Fast and friendly service. Got the pizza back to our Inn and ate. Pizza was good, nothing bad to report and that's coming from a native New Yorker who can be picky about pizza. He found it a bit overcooked (had asked for medium rare) and it was kind of bland (that's probably his fault though because he had asked them to remove the garlic aioli usually served with it). Also - this cut wasn't a bone-in so the steak was bigger than he expected, and he couldn't finish it. He loved the asparagus and other veggies however, which were prepared perfectly. I had the napoleatan Ragu which I thought (from seeing pictures on social media) would be a MUCH smaller portion than what was served. It was tasty but I couldn't finish half. If you are boxing up leftovers it would probably reheat really well the next day (we couldn't as we are on a road trip. I mean, maybe I could have anyway. We did not have a reservation, but at 4:45pm they were able to seat us immediately. There are a set of very steep stairs to get to the dining room on the second floor (I don't know if there is an elevator for accessibility). Since the room was empty, we asked to sit next to the windows for a view of the lake. They said the tables were reserved (and the room did fill up slowly while we were there), but we were still able to see the water without issue. I did not see sangria on the menu and asked, but they said they did not have it after summer is over. I asked about sweeter red wines and they recommend the Nero D'Avola. The offered a sample and it was very good, so I ordered a glass. Both our glasses of red wine were in large glasses with generous pours. Claudia was our server; she was warm and friendly, with a wonderful Italian accent (from Naples). The complimentary focaccia was the softest and most delicious we had ever had, served with plates of delicious olive oil and Parmesan cheese. We ate every bite. For appetizer we tried the octopus, which was a beautiful presentation and very tasty. It was a little hard to cut with the butter knives at the table. We had to ask for steak knives several times, which arrived eventually. The chicken had the most incredible presentation with sliced potatoes we had ever seen, served with delicious beet salad. I could have used a twirling spoon for the shrimp entree and its excellent homemade pasta. They did say the menu would be changing soon. We were too full for dessert, but they had the usual selections available (tiramisu, chocolate cake, gelato). Probably a good thing we didn't know there was a bakery downstairs, or we might have taken something home with us: the photos online look amazing! While our server did apologize, the service continued to be poor for the rest of the evening. A manager never came to our table to apologize, check on us, or ask what they could do to make the situation right. We also weren't offered to have my dad's forgotten meal comped, despite the significant mistake and inconvenience. Mistakes happen, and we understand that. What matters is how a restaurant responds when they do. Unfortunately, there was very little effort made to acknowledge the issue or recover from it, and that left a much worse impression than the mistake itself.
