We had a small crack (approximately 1-2 cm) in our windshield that needed filling to keep it from spreading. My wife looked at reviews on Google and found this establishment and saw that the pricing was quite reasonable. She contacted them to do the work. The bill was $85. The work, as you can see in the picture of the billing receipt we received, was guaranteed. The work did not hold, the crack spread, and we contacted the company for a refund. Up front, I will say we did receive our refund eventually. However, it was how it was handled, in part, that led to this low rating. Normally, I would not go out of my way to describe the situation in detail, but please see this as a kind of public service report. First, my wife texted the contact person to arrange for a refund. He was already gaslighting her that it wasn't his fault the work did not hold. His reply was curt. In my opinion, it was rude. But, he agreed to come see it. When he arrived, he was agitated enough that my wife asked me to accompany her with the person to our car. He was rather aggressive and rude to us both. When we reminded him of the guarentee listed on his website and the billing receipt, he became extremely agitated, stated that another hit caused the crack to expand and he did not think this was his responsibility to refund. We disagreed. He swore under his breath, pulled out his wallet and said he'd refund. However, he did not have the cash on him and hurriedly stated he'd mail us a check. We were not confident he would, but to his credit, he did. If this was the end of it, I would not bother to write this review. Maybe he had a bad day. We all lose our cool from time to time. It is the next action he took that led to this low rating. After his rude behavior, he was so flustered, he jammed his wallet back into his pocket, got into his car, and sped away at a dangerous rate of speed from our neighborhood. We have dozens of small children who walk and ride bikes and scooters. We have people with disabilities and older adults who don't move as quickly as they used to move. His driving was dangerous! I'm grateful nobody got hurt as he sped out of the neighborhood. It was a thoughtless, reckless, immature action that could have ended tragically. Certainly not worth $85. If I'd have known he would have done that, I would not have bothered with the refund! I'm just glad he mailed it and did not return to our neighborhood. I would not have wanted him endangering anyone I know with his demonstrated reckless. This review is for your consideration when hiring car windshield repair service. He was cheaper than the other companies and was able to come 4 days sooner than the other companies which was important so the chip did not spread. Jim did a repair for me in October of 2021. Since the chip was not in my direct line of vision; I do not much care about the invisibility of the repair. I was inform before the work was begun that the repair would be visible. The chip was much less visible after the repair. Now a year later the repair is fine and I am still happy. I got a new chip in the windshield that started to spread. I texted Jim and he quoted me a price. He said he could come out the following morning and do the repair. He arrived exactly when he said he would did the repair. I was very pleased because with very cold weather imminent; one days wait would have allowed the crack to spread beyond the possibility of repair. Our windshield suffered a small chip (less than a 1/4 inch). I checked a few online quotes, which which were running over $100. When I called Jim, he was working with another customer. He was able to quote me $60 over the phone. I was really sold when he said his repair would be guaranteed for life and he could be at my home within an hour or so. He was on time and courteous. He has over 20 years experience. It took about 30 mins. for him to complete. Hopefully I won't get another chip or crack in my windshield, but if I do, I would gladly call Jim again. read more

Our new car took a hit on the windshield after just a month (in July) resulting in a chip and a crack about a half inch long. Our insurance company contracted with Jim at this company, and he came to our home in Racine in a couple days. The crack became invisible, but the chip was still slightly visible, and Jim said no repair is perfect, so we decided to live with it. In November, I noticed a crack extending a half inch on both sides of the chip. Our insurance agent said we should contact the repair service, so I did. Jim said he could only come to Racine on Saturday, so I agreed and waited all day. I called twice and left a voicemail; but he never showed. On Monday I called, and he said it was too far to come to Racine ( though his site says he services areas 50 miles beyond). So why did he tell me he would come to my home on Saturday and waste my day? Then he said there was nothing wrong with the repair. I said there clearly was a growing crack; how could he know there wasn't? He said I'd have to bring the car to him, but doesn't give a street address, just a P.O. box. He got very rude and said ALL customers say the repair wasn't right, but when he goes out, there's nothing wrong with the repair. I asked if he was calling me a liar, and he hung up on me. I called back, but he refused to answer. I left a voicemail that said the invoice guaranteed, as long as I own the car, that he will refund your money if the repair does not retain optical clarity or cracks further. He has no intention of refunding the repair cost or of making it right. This Jim Hoff (spx?) may get your business by low balling the price, but he is not an honest or reliable man, thinks his customers are stupid cheats and liars, and does not back up his guarantee.
