Rented a car in May, 2018 at Detroit location, received CC bill showing a much higher rate than our receipt. After calling them I was told they were sorry for the inconvenience this caused us but a refund would be issued in 1-2 days, the amount of refund was not available. What kind of business operates like this? There was no explanation as to what happened even though I asked for the refund amount and how this happened. Will never rent from them again! read more

executive car rental for the Detroit airport location was by far the worst car rental experience I have ever had the guy behind the counter Shawn T. was rude , demanding, obnoxious, and lied to me about which car I was going to get and at 1:00 AM ( my flight was delayed) kept threatening not rent the car to me if I didn't except his terms and conditions knowing I didn't have another choice in the middle of the night, this guy was a total a Hole, i don't know they stay in business with this guy and their polices. read more

I would never recommend this rental car company to anyone!! They are very very rude, they help "Car Rental" steal my money and refused to allow me to rent a car. Enterprise beats this car rental company hands down!! read more

I rented a car recently in Detroit. One of the tires kept loosing air. I noticed that 3 of the tires were the same brand and the one with the tire pressure problem was a different brand. The sidewalls were dry and cracked. They never apologized for the inconvenience of having to put air in the tire twice, said that all their cars had fewer than 20,000 miles on them and I must have picked up a nail somewhere causing the loss of air pressure. My experience with new cars is that all four tires should have been the same brand. Maybe one of the workers or a previous renter must have needed a tire that size and swapped it out. read more

Although I reserved a car about one month before my trip, just one day before my trip when I called to confirm the reservation time they said that "you have to cancel this reservation because you don't have any round-trip flight from the airport"!!!. While there is not any notice in their website to show that this is a rule of their company. read more

this company now has another name as well called Priceless Car Rental. I had already been "jobbed" by this company once before under executive car rental when I attempted to rent a car and they wanted a rather large security deposit and then told me I could not leave the state. When I asked why, they said well its in our terms. When I asked where the terms were they said its on their site. I said I had rented through Expedia or Orbitz, and they said it was in the fine print (I could not find it). Fast forward to today and I thought I had gotten a decent price on a car rental at this company called Priceless Car Rental located by Detroit Metro Airport. I was aghast to find that Priceless was attached to Executive Car Rental and shared the same counter. The woman behind the counter took my credit card then said "well we can't rent to you at the price agreed upon because you are not flying in or out the airport". I again asked for where this policy can be found. All she could say was that it was there on the attached email. I again complained about the false advertising like the last experience knowing that I would get nowhere. Pay close attention to the fact that when you go to the Executive Car Rental website they offer no ability to communicate via email. The woman behind the counter didn't even have a business card and wrote down the number for Executive Car Rental which of course nobody answers. Beware Beware Beware! They are finding new ways to screw people over read more

The staff was great! As soon as I came out of the terminal, there was a shuttle waiting for me. The driver was courteous and considerate and shared info on places to see during my trip. Peter checked me in and was able to give me an upgrade which was the perfect car ( all wheel drive) for the Michigan weather. Returning the car was a breeze and the shuttle back to the airport was waiting for me. Great experience gentlemen. Thanks! read more

Do NOT rent from these jokers. They operate as Executive Car Rental and/or Priceless Car Rental. You bust your butt finding a great rate only to get screwed because all their cars have the SunPass in them. They don't tell you that. They just tell you of the fines and violations you'll accumulate if you go through tolls. Yes, they have you sign a form agreeing that you won't put your own transponder in there, but they also won't send the contract that you signed stating that you won't put your own transponder in. So, I was not able to review after signing my document like I would have once I got to the hotel. So I will be on the hook for probably some $80-150 of additional charges because I missed this detail and didn't see their SunPass in the window. Save your time and spend the money renting your car at the airport. Don't get me wrong, the guy at the counter was nice, but I was deceived. Yes I was ticked when I called home office and yes I cussed because I felt deceived. The lady hung up on me and when I called back, left me on hold. read more

I should've taken the reviews more seriously. I used their services this summer and the only good thing I can say is that the guy who helped us was nice. The check in was ridiculously long. At first we had the "you're not in our system" issue which a couple of people before us had heard as well. However after more computer digging by the person helping us, the issue was resolved. After the long check in, we were finally given the keys to our car. My husband inspected the car and he was very upset with the worn out tires so he went back inside and asked for another car. Thankfully, there was no hesitation on the guy (probably because they are used to this) and he went ahead and gave us another set of keys. There were two other customers that also asked for another car because they had issues as well. My husband checked the 2nd car and again the tires were worn out however, not as much. We looked around and it seemed as though all cars had the similar issue so we just drove off and decided not to ask for a 3rd car. After turning on the car on day 2, we get a message on the dashboard announcing low battery on the key fob *EYE ROLL*. Aside from that, my husband noticed that the oil was past its change date. We called customer service and they were nice and let us know not to worry. But, I definitely won't be using their services in the future. read more

This place was great easy shuttle from airport super friendly service and great car and great price!

I don't like to write negative reviews and also like to give any business the chance to correct any wrongs. I rent cars quite often but this car rental company is by far the worst rental car company I have ever dealt with. They charge your credit card an additional $250.00 as a security deposit when renting a car and you are supposed to get that deposit back within 10 days. I know for a fact when I return something paid for on my AMEX, it comes off my account immediately. I realized on 10/28 that I was never credited the $250.00 to my card for a rental that was returned on 9/27. I called and spoke to Tom on 10/28 who took my credit card number and said the credit would be put through. He said that they had issues with Amex during the month of September and were unable to credit any the security deposits. On 10/31 I received a voice message from a woman at their call center saying that the credit card number that they were provided was incorrect. I tried to call the woman back numerous times unsuccessfully. Coincidentally, ii was in MI that week and had rented a car from them. I spoke to the manager upon returning that rental and he credited me on the spot for the security deposit on my MC for that weeks rental and took my AMEX number for the credit for the prior month's rental. I still don't have my credit and I filed a dispute with AMEX who is also having a difficult time. I decided to do what one of the others said to do and I filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General's office. Check your credit card statements and make sure that you receive your credit for your security deposit or better yet, rent from a reputable car rental company! They are inexpensive but it is not worth the aggravation and time. read more

So I read all the negative reviews but read it too late so I couldnt cancel my reservations. I hoped for the best but nope. It's all true. They don't refund that expensive security deposit of $250 in a timely manner. I returned my car on friday morning june 22nd and as of today june 28th I still dont see the money returned back to my account. I had to call them yesterday and they said it would be credited by today. Customers should not be following up on credits for security deposits. The shuttle to pick up delayed since when I called to ask how long for the next shuttle, they said they were down a shuttle because one was totaled in an accident. And finally when we got to the rental office, there was 5 counters but only one sales rep. She really did try to get everyone set up quickly but the company should not have only one employee checking in all the guests. Never again and I recommend the same to others. read more

Listen to others run like hell!! Take a uber .. walk.. Do Not rent from them!!!! They charge you a deposit of 250.00 and I paid online in full and still was charged more. Who does a deposit no other rentals do!! They suck!! read more

We used Exucutive Car Rental because it was one of the cheaper companies for renting cars near Detroit, Michigan. Our flight was delayed multiple times due to thunderstorms, but we called the company to let them know. They said they would move our reservation for an hour later. When we arrived at the company, we were in a short line of about 5 people that still took about half an hour because everyone there was having issues with their rental. We saw not a single person get a rental car and drive away. When we got to the counter, we were told that they didn't have the car we rented but would upgrade us to a larger, more expensive car, but we would have to pay far more for this rental that we hadn't wanted. We then decided to simply Uber everywhere we needed to go. Do not use this company. Even though it may seem to be a great deal, it's not; I advise you use a more reputable, if more expensive company. read more

If I could give this place a negative star rating I would. Found this place through Priceline. At first I thought things would be great. The shuttle drivers were fantastic and the counter people were super nice, offered water, nice vehicle ... The fun began upon return of the rental and the case of my missing $250. Every other car rental place has held a deposit and then only ran the amount of the rental upon return. This place took $414.32 out of my account the day of the rental. Told me it would be 3-5 business days before I got my $250 back. I called on the 3rd business day, the 5th business day, and the 7th business day. I constantly get placed on hold and then told it will be escalated to a manager and someone will call me back. No calls. I emailed them, no response despite my read receipt saying it had been read. I finally filed a fraudulent charge dispute with my bank since I have a receipt showing the charges were $164.32. I'm writing reviews everywhere I can think of to help others. It seems this is a common practice with this business based on reviews, Facebook, and complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. I also filed a consumer complaint with the AG's office in Michigan. STAY AWAY!! read more

BEWARE! This car rental has questionable business practices (possibly FRAUDULENT). They force you to leave a deposit (read better business bureau reviews) and then, the woman sales person told me that if I gave them a 5 star rating, she would give us an upgrade. On top of that, they gave us a car with air pressure sensors broken only to find out less than 24 hours from renting the car, we had a flat tire. Although they represented to us that the sensors were broken and to ignore them, with a tire leaking air so quickly, it appears that the tire was damaged to begin with. On top of that, when we were stranded, it took several calls to get someone to help us. When Shawn assured us that it is ok to drive on the tire (because it was a run flat) and to come back to the rental agency and he had a replacement car waiting, when we arrived back, a different person was working and refused to replace the car. We had to leave the car with them. After all this hassle, you would think that they would at least give us a ride somewhere, but no, they would not. My husband had to walk on the road to Alamo ( thank you, Alamo!) at midnight to get another car. To make matters worse, they charged (not just preauthorization as the woman had presented to me) not only the whole rental amount but also the deposit on the day of rental (before flat tire). read more

Don't be fooled by Executive Car Rental's low prices-- it is NOT worth it. The price might be low, but that won't make up for the poor service and dirty, poorly maintained cars. The whole operation at Detroit Metro Airport has a very sketchy feel to it. Kind of like it is run by organized crime. First, I waited with others in the freezing weather for the ECR shuttle while competing car rental companies' shuttles made multiple trips. ECR makes essentially one shuttle run to competitors' three. Second, the "off airport" location looks run down and unprofessional. Third, the car. OMG. Filthy interior, including trash left by a prior renter, windshield wipers that were unsafe for driving in snow and freezing rain, and high enough mileage that no other rental company would permit. Take your business and your money elsewhere. With any luck, the Michigan Attorney General's office will do its job and shut this place down. read more

it took more than half hour to be picked from the airport, but that was not the big issue since they apologise for the delay, the problem is getting your deposit back, they charge $250.00 on your card for deposit, I had to call them twice and also called and talk to Priceline and complained about not getting my deposit, finally after 2 months, I get the deposit back, poor service poor excuse. read more

Executive Car Rental has a long way to go. I've rented from them twice and have had to call to secure my deposit some 2 weeks later (pending the second one). Both times I've rented it has been late at night and I've had to wait for the shuttle bus as I see other car rental companies pass by by multiple times. The first time I rented the car it was so dirty; the lady who was fusing and complaining because she was working the counter and cleaning the cars, said it happens because Mack Trucks drive pass on the street (well why part them there!) I had to get the car rewashed and guess who drove it service area in the the back to get it washed - yes your's truly. The staff for the most part was friendly, but they get SO bagged up because they pick up so sparingly. Everyone gets off the bus and get in the line at the same time, then they have an influx of customers. It remains me of Hotel Essex on Revenge of the Nerds. Inconspicuous Building that looks like a mom and pop repair shop. read more

I wish I looked at the reviews before I rented using price line. This company has horrible service. I started out with a dirty car & my gas tank empty with the gas light on at the Orlando location. The price was more than quoted at Priceline. I had to pay a $250 security deposit & I was forced to pay for toll service because it's either get charged $20 for each toll or pay the daily fee so it's either pay for the service or avoid tolls even if you pay for the tolls. My car broke down & I was not able to call anyone. The phone just kept on ringing & no answer. I connected with a different location & they could not call anyone else. They finally contacted someone & they had to call me back. I had to use my own towing service & the tow truck could not even find the Tampa location to drop off the car. I got a replacement car & I was charged an additional $200 because they say the key was damaged. I will never use this company again. read more

I usually rent through Avis or Enterprise but found a great deal through this company for a one-day trip I was taking to Detroit, I returned my rental on 8/29/18 @6:23pm, got the car checked in with no problem and was told the $250 deposit would be released by to my card within a couple days. It is now 9/17/18 and we still have not received the release on our card. I called on 9/10/18 to inquire about the deposit release and Colleen said she didn't understand why it was not processed earlier, apologized and said she was processing the release at that time and it would take 72 hours to be returned back to our card. As of Thursday, 9/13 the return release still had not completed, I called again, Colleen said it would take 72 business hours and it was processed on Monday and would be there Thursday night, Friday came and it was still not there, decided to give it till Monday morning, STILL NOT THERE. Called back Monday morning 9/17/18, spoke to Amelia, she said my release was just submitted and approved on 9/15 which was Saturday, I told her NO, that I was told by Colleen that she processed it on Monday and it would take 72 hours so it should have been back on my card Thursday. What the heck people, there is NO reason for this, to hold funds that clearly do not belong to you, it's not that we need the $250 for any reason it's the fact that YOU DID NOT DO AS YOU PROMISED, not the first time, not the second time and not on the third call! Never will I rent from this company again! I expressed too Amelia that this was totally unacceptable and I am disputing the charge as well as filing this compliant. I asked for the upper managements name and she said she didn't know a name just an email???? REALLY?? what kind of scam is this? Obviously, they need the money and this is why they refuse to let it go. I asked who the manager was at that location (DTW) she said John, I asked to speak with him and was told he was not in, she took my number and said she would pass on my information to him, yeah right let's see if I get a call. read more

do not use this company. this company is a bunch of scam artists. if i could give it no stars i would. do not expect to get your $250 refund back. i called four times regarding my refund, each time they said they'll issue it that day. they never did. i had to dispute them with my bank. we are a military family and this is how they thanked us. they should be put out of business. read more

HORRENDOUS experience! And that is an understatement. Got to the counter... there was a customer arguing. Counter person Shawn says he only has luxury cars so will have to charge extra for it even though the guy had a reservation for a full size. Shawn also required the guy to provide proof that his insurance is full coverage. Insurance card is not enough. After a lot of arguing he waived the extra charges. My turn... same exact argument. Shawn will not give me the reservation price until I called Priceline to report him. He then talked to priceline and said I was lying and that all is good! 4 other customers behind me had same issue because they had insurance cards that do not show full coverage. I ended up driving one customer to Hertz! Mind you, this was at midnight. Shawn has no decency, was forcing customers to take a $39.99 a day full coverage insurance, and was forcing a luxury upgrade charge to customers. BAD BAD BAD. I will NEVER rent from this company again. If you have reservations with this company, cancel and look for another. read more

Please, Please do not!!!! rent from these people they don't have the vehicle you rent, they want you to upgrade. On 10/13/18 I had to create a major seen almost to the point of having the police there before they would get me a vehicle at the price I contracted for $9.00 per day. They want to charge a $10 per day fee for toll roads in the Tampa area, which has almost zero toll roads. If you do use a toll road without paying their fee, they will charge you $20 plus the toll charge and additional processing fees. You cann't cancel your contract at their rental desk or they mark you as a no show and charge you the full contract price. I can not believe the airports would lease space to this company or Priceline would allow this company to rent cars on there web site knowing they do this to their customers. I had to give them one star to post this message. I rate them negative one million stars read more

If there was a zero that would be my rating. First I called twice from out of town and was asked for my number to return my call and never received a call back. One person was Shaun. He guaranteed a return call & it never happened. After arriving and waiting 30 at the terminal, we had to call the office to get the shuttle. After the driver arrived, he stood behind the shuttle and talked to another driver for a few minutes while we waited. We had 10 people in front of us. It took almost an hour to reach the counter and there was NO air. There were fans running hit air. We was offered a FILTHY car twice. Both had stains on the seats. The person "cleaning" them couldn't understand our frustration when we pointed out the huge stains and she stated she could clean them, but the seats would be wet. I never agreed to rent a car with wet seats. We refused two filthy cars total. After the 2nd vehicle we was given another vehicle. I asked for the manager and he initially avoided speaking with me. There was NO compensation or apology offered. After requesting to speak with him he offered to adjust the time. He stated he couldn't modify the price. I only used the vehicle for approx 9 hours and I returned it the same day to get rid of them. Here it is 3 days later and the deposit is still pending on my card. I will be contacting the corporate office Monday morning and speaking with someone. There were NO damages, a full tank of gas, very little usage and it was probably returned cleaner than I got it, and I returned it well before it was due back. There's NO reason my deposit shouldn't be back on my card. If anything they should've returned 50% of the cost of the rental. We had to cancel some of our planned visit because of how late we left. Service was deplorable and I will never recommend them. I'd chance using Uber or a taxi before ever renting from them. read more

Probably the worst experience I've had with any business not just a car rental. Pickup up a car on a Saturday. Called Saturday evening when I noticed the driver's seat belt was detaching itself while driving. I was told they would call me back in a few minutes. They didn't. Called again Sunday morning and they suggested I could drive the car (without a seatbelt) an hour and a half back to the airport to exchange it, or wait until Monday when I location closer to me was open. They promised to call the other location to organize the exchange. They didn't. The car I got on Monday had a bad radio in it, but at this point I just needed something that wouldn't kill me. I have called an emailed to try to get a refund for the two days I wasn't able to use the car. Never received a response. The "corporate" office is always gone. The employees on the phone are rude and aggressive. Even went so far as to say that I had the opportunity to inspect the car when I picked it up, so it wasn't their fault the seat belt didn't work. After several attempts the best they could offer me was 10% on my next reservation. I'd rather walk than rent from them again. Run don't walk away from them, no matter the price difference. read more

This is possibly the worst business that I have ever dealt with. I waited over two hours to pick up my car while the manager "confirmed" my reservation. I provided him all of the documentation from booking the car and it still took two hours. It was only a two-and-a-half-hour flight by the way. After my reservation was confirmed I was informed that because I had a Michigan Drivers License I was subject to a $500 deposit. The manager, John, made me feel like it was my fault that I had a Michigan Drivers license and it almost felt like it was a gift for him to even give me the car. John was not helpful at all and was rude and definitely not interested in return customers. No compensation was offered for time waiting in the airport for a car. The deposit was not mentioned in any of the booking paper work nor was I forewarned about this during the two-hour wait. I was told that the deposit would be held for two days after I turned the car in. I made several attempts to call the customer service number to ask for more details about the deposit but the line goes to an automated answering machine and the mailbox is either full or not setup so you cannot leave a message. Not that anyone would actually call me back anyway. Now I sit here on the eve of a long holiday weekend three days after returning my car and my deposit has still not refunded to me. Again I have tried several times to call the customer service number, the main company number, and the number to the location at the air port and no one answers my call. I have left several messages and no one can be bothered return my call. Stay away from this company its all bad. I will be pursuing this with the BBB and any other avenue I can find. These are straight up crooks. read more

Absolutely the worst company we have ever rented from and have rented from plenty of them. Sure, looks like a great rate, but when you're expecting to pay $60 and are charged $434, there's something wrong there. Then they made us purchase their insurance at $29.99 PER DAY because they don't take credit card insurance, since we didn't have much time due to meetings, we were forced to sign the contract with taking their insurance. However we have full coverage on a personal policy, so that should have sufficed, but again no time to deal with it. When I called them about it the lady had an attitude and was not very helpful, said she could only speak to the person who signed the contract. Then it took 25 minutes for the shuttle to arrive and then another 40 mins in line with only 1 other person in line.. Renters beware, I wish I would have checked Yelp first seeing most of the reviews show how horrible they are! Will NEVER use this company again that's for sure. read more

saw this car rental on cheapflights. i tried contacting them as well. all i have to say if you are considering renting from these people don't do it!!!!!! yeah the price will grab you. so this is how the scam work. they tell you they have to charge a $250 dep that is refundable... they have no intentions on refunding you. i wish i took the $249 from enterprise but thought i was getting a better deal with executive for $170. not knowing the $170 rental would be a whopping $420 rental total (that includes the 250 bucks they are not trying to actually refund). they play games with giving you back your deposit and hope you forget all about it. i just hung up with my card company disputing the dep charge. i should dispute the entire charge since i am using precious time to correct something that should have already been rectified. the cars are jank. the vehicle i had was dirty inside and out. the oil change was past due from the sticker on windshield. the car drove like it needed an alignment. i felt like i was borrowing my neighbors 16 yr old kid car. i didn't feel much comfort at all. don't believe me?! then go for it. oh and they rate a fat "f" with the bbb. read more

1. do not use them! i used my amex and do not need insurance which covers all car rental issues. upon arrival i was told i had to pay for their insurance regardless or provide personal information including my own insurance and personal vehicle year and type which is none of their business! i was charged a $250 fee until return -- why??????-- and that it would be refunded upon the car's return. what kind of game is this? 2. i was asked if i wanted to prepay fuel, being assured that it was cheaper than replenishment at about $2.75 per gallon. i was shocked to then be told it was $53 for the gas for a vehicle that couldn't have more than a 15-17 gallon tank, so i changed my mind. when i refilled on empty it was a $35 refill for 16 gallons -- so another attempt at a rip-off my this rental service. the people were obnoxious, two laughed at me as they held me up at the counter with this nonsense while my son was waiting to be picked up and i was very upset. read more
