Poor customer service and thieves. My assistant made my travel reservation and trying to save a little $, reserved a car with Executive. Poor decision. Their building is old, no ac and they require a prepaid $250 deposit for all rentals (not just a credit card #, but actual money paid up front), I travel all over the US and typically use only nationally known rental car companies and this is not typical. Still, I paid, as I assume most do, as I was there on the spot and just wanted to go. The car wasn't very nice at all and they have you sign a document, in advance before even seeing the car you'll be getting, that the car is in perfect condition, except what is annotated on the contract. How can they expect customers to sign that statement, before even seeing or inspecting the car. So, once assigned my car, I go outside to see that there are several dings and scratches on the car. So, knowing I just signed a document indicating that the car was perfect and I was responsible for anything not annotated on the contract (before seeing the car, mind you), I went back inside and told the agent of the damage. Her response..."don't worry about it. We know about that damage". Really? Well, I'm smart enough not to believe anything that contradicts what's in writing. So, not wanting to be responsible when I bring the car back, I pull out my phone and video the car, still in the parking lot, being sure to annotate every area of damage and the business an date/time, to protect myself. I then left the lot for my visit and return the car 5 days later. Here's where the problems really begin...
Upon returning the vehicle, I ask about my deposit and am told that it should be return within a few days. I return to TX and watch my bank account. 3 days, 5 days, a week, 2 weeks...no returned deposit. I call them, wait on hold 35 minutes and when the phone is answered, I am told that she was with another customer and if I can hold. I say ok and what happens next? The phone goes dead! So, I call back, get the same person and am told the same thing and if I can hold. Hell no...not this time. So, she listens to me, looks up my account and tells me that she doesn't know what happened, but I must have "slipped through the cracks" and she fixed it and I should have my deposit back in 3 days. I wait...3 days, 5 days...no deposit. I call back and speak to someone who inform me that I need to speak with John, but he doesn't work until later. I call back later, John answers the phone, puts me on hold for 20 minutes and then gets back on the phone to tell me how busy he is and he'll call me back before he leaves for the evening. What do you think happens then? Yep...no call back. I call back the next day, speak with another lady who looks up my account, again apologizes and tells me she has fixed the issue and I should get my deposit back in 3 days. I tell her it's hard to believe her, as I had been told that multiple times already. She assures me she's make sure. 3 days pass, 5 days pass and a week passes...no deposit returned. I then speak with my corporate attorney for advice and we're preparing to send a letter demanding my deposit returned and what do you know...over a month later, my deposit is returned. I will never do business with Executive again. I wonder how many people don't get their deposit back or sign the contract that the vehicle is perfect, don't go back to ensure all the actual damage to the vehicle is properly documents and then are charged for the pre-existing damage, because they signed the contract (before seeing their car). It's quite a swindle they have working there.
In closing, My assistant saved $85 dollars going with Executive over one of the more well know companies, but the shifty policies, poor customer service and attempted robbery cost me much more than $85 in time and frustration. If you are considering this company, you have now been put on notice and can no longer complain when you have these types of issues. Good luck. read more
