PLEASE LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS BELOW This is worst experiences ive had with a detailer and quite possibly of any business. I asked to get my car ceramically coated - which they are NOT certified to do as i later found out. I also asked for swirl removal and a correction job on my rims from a concrete rash. Lets start with the rims - it was half assed, they did nothing to sand the scratches down and they basically covered it with paint that dosent even match the rim color. Looks like hell. They tell you all these things at first like, "im gonna use our best stuff for you" "were going to make sure its the best detail of your life" blah blah To start they did NOTHING to remove the swirl marks and the car looked exactly the same as when i gave it to them. They left tons of old wax from the job before all around the 5.0 logo which you can see in the pictures below. They didnt even bother to remove the license plate and do around there - they just did around it. When i brought that up he acted like it was no big deal (shows you how much pride they really take in their work) On to the ceramic job. When you do a ceramic coating youre supposed to strip everything off the paint and then coat with ceramic. i know multiple people that have had it done. First off they left old wax from a previous detail job which shows a pure lack of caring and effort (not to mention just not doing the job correctly). Then they put some water repellent on it instead of real ceramic coat. I had my car later fixed by an actual certified detailer and he confirmed it was the cheapest type of ceramic, basically nothing more than water repellent. Now lets move to how "professional" they are. Once i got the car i told owner that this wasnt the correct job and he proceeded to argue with me even though i can literally see swirl marks and the car looked nothing like other ceramic waxes ive seen done before. I sent him clear as day pictures and he actually says "they look fine". Take a look at the pictures below and tell me if anyone whos job is detailing cars would find this acceptable. For a shop that talks so much about having pride in their work i find this extremely ironic. He then proceeded to tell me "dont worry ill take care of you" however he refused to return calls from me for an entire week until i finally got ahold of him. He agreed to reimburse me back 250 for basically something i could have done myself. Told me it would be sent out as a check. Two weeks later i still have nothing and he refuses to answer my texts or calls. Finally we go in and he tells us "were full of shit" which for one is unprofessional and two, it proves he never sent the check. This shop is so full of shit in every possible way, ive never seen anything like it. We basically had to force him to give us our money back and he only gave me 200 instead of the 250 as originally agreed upon. So instead of just honoring his word the first time where everything would have been solved and i wouldnt even be writing this , he instead prefers to be cheap and save himself 50 dollars and try to just not pay us at all. So now im out 265 dollars for literally nothing and i had to spend more time to get an actual professional to do it. Ive also included texts from an actual certified detailer where he explains the shit job they did. Feel free to respond to this if you want more detail and i can show you exactly the time i took these photos vs when i actually had the job done so you can see this isnt "before" photos. Note* this says san francisco on my profile, i dont know why but im from new jersey and this review was meant for the somers point NJ executive auto detail

I took my car to Tilton Auto for repair of major damage. I…read moremet the owner Will who I learned was 50 years in the business. He explained the repair and gave me the lowest estimate of any of the 4 other body shops I went to. Scheduled the repair for the following week which required 4 days in the shop. Something urgent came up and I requested if 3 days were possible to complete it. He said he'd do his best. On the 3 rd day he had it done and as "topping on the cake" he said the charge was $40 less than the estimate. Will is an incredibly noble and honorable craftsman who gives a personal connection that thee customer will never get at the big national body shop chains. If anyone is looking for a personal, professional body repair look no further then Tilton auto body.

It was noticed that the door alignment was off due to the passenger door had a new skin put on it to correct the body damage as a result of the incident. Chris the owner had his mechanic take the car in an attempt to rectify the situation. 10 minutes later the car was returned with an adjustment being made after a week it was noticed that there was possible movement . A call to chris led to an appointment being made 2 weeks hence at 11:00 am where the situation would be addressed and a check for $100.00 would be issued to cover the additional detailers fee of 4 weeks prior at approx 10;00 am on the 16th of april a message was received that the mechanic who was suppose to readjust the door had called out sick. with that I showed up at 11;00 am to pick up the check that had taken approx 3 weeks to issue due to the accountant not being in attendance. I then told Chris the I would not be returning the vehicle for any adjustments or claims about their Lifetime warranty on repairs. My advice to who may read this. all you will get from Tilton Is someone with empty promises and excuses.I am 84 years old and have been around the Block. and in order to avoid any additional Stress I have decide to walk and to not deal with nefarious merchants who most likely had their employees post reviews.

They didn't try to bamboozle her or nothing else of that nature. They helped her navigate the chaotic insurance huddles and answered all and many of her inquiries. The staff were very polite and patient. Also the office is clean and quiet. They even took time to explain to her what other steps to take because the other driver hit her SUV and insurance totaled it. They also pointed out the misleading calculations the insurance adjuster hid in the paper because insurance wanted to pay my wife less than what her car was worth. Overall, I will recommend everyone to pick this shop. You must!!!! You will be happy you did.

This review is not regarding quality of work, but more regarding estimates. I had an incident with…read morea new vehicle. I found Autotech decided to give them a call given that their reviews were outstanding. During the call I explained what had happened and one of the first things that came out of their mouth was "if you are looking for cheap...". Obviously I wanted the a job done the right way and for the vehicle to look new again so still entertained their services. I explained I planned to pay out of pocket as I thought it wouldn't be out of this world even for decent dent with scratched along the front passenger door. I went through the process of shooting the pictures and submitting them through their platform. I get a call back from them and when they said they needed to replace the whole door, my jaw dropped. The door was fully operational, window came up and down, the sensor for the bling spot came on timely, mirror was intact, the speaker working and spacing between the front panel and the door was not to large nor small. The dent was at the bottom of the door and half of the damage was a part made out of plastic at the bottom of the door. The gentleman that called me said I was going to "spend well beyond $5,000, more like $8,000 or $9,000 and probably $10,000". My heart dropped and as the conversation previous about it not being cheap put me in doubt about out-of-pocket I engaged the insurance even before getting the "guestimate" of anywhere between $8,000 to $10,000. My insurance quoted the work at $1,500 which usually insurances low ball, but usually there wouldn't be a difference of $8,500 as a max. I asked what were the next steps to get an official quote since they only had seen pictures and thought they needed to see it in-person. He said I don't give official quotes. You bring it in we disassemble and let the insurance know what the real cost is. I would be out of a car for potentially several months and would use all my rental allowance and more. As I usually like to keep vendors/contractors honest I always go for several other quotes. To find 2 other places with great reviews and word from a friend who put his more than $100k car in the hands of a specific shop that was incredibly lower than Autotech. I also ran the pictures through several AI models who yielded results with cost very similar to the 2 other shops who quoted me. The one the AI models said that anything above $5,000 should be challenged and that even with a door replacement it should be remotely close to $8,000. So the 1 start review is for not seeing the car personally to do a better assessment rather than solely pictures, for not offering an actual quote at the best of their abilities as other shops who always give the disclaimer "it may be more once we formally look into it" but at least a ballpark that makes sense. Also, the first appointment to leave the car was weeks after. In the end I decided to go with a shop that was certified for the make and model of my car and also had a relationship with the dealership I bought my car from. They took my car in the same day I brought it to be assessed. I only used 3 weeks of my rental allowance and costed $4,000 for the full repair. But the best of all, nobody who knew I had an accident but had not seen the car could pinpoint where the car was damaged. It is virtually impossible to identify the damaged areas. The job was a door skin replacement, paint and blend aside from other minor details. No component inside the door was damaged... lastly, the maintenance light turned on a few days before the accident, this other shop took the car to the dealership I bought the car from and had it serviced for me before I picked it up. My point, I don't doubt Autotech earned their reviews but the estimate process and pricing based on word of mouth will always be suspicious to me. ALWAYS engage other shops for comparison, ask for a written estimate and go for reasonably priced high quality repairs. I always go for high quality, but there's a difference between the cost of high quality and simply exaggerated.
