Working with Jackie has been an absolute pleasure from start to finish. As a first-time homebuyer, I had a lot of questions and uncertainties, but Jackie was incredibly patient, informative, and extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire process. She took the time to explain everything in clear, understandable terms and always made sure I felt comfortable and confident with each decision. What really stood out was her ability to break down complex mortgage details and guide me through each step without ever making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. Jackie's calm and professional approach turned what could have been a stressful experience into a smooth and even enjoyable one. When I was looking into buying a second property, there was no question in my mind about who to turn to. Jackie continued to be just as responsive, insightful, and supportive as she was the first time around. It's clear she genuinely cares about her clients and wants the best outcome for them. I can't recommend Jackie enough to anyone in need of a trustworthy, experienced mortgage broker who goes above and beyond. read more

Jackie isn't just my favorite mortgage expert, but my favorite financial adviser/broker of any kind I've ever worked with over 30 years. She's not just a master of the process and at routing your app to the right match; she's a master at understanding what your real needs are and then fighting for them, NON-STOP. There were several examples of this during the process, but the most important was getting the mortgage size I was hoping for. I came in with a target/floor, but wanted to go as high as possible. Another broker came in at 10% below my target, final offer. Jackie started at about 10% above my target and ultimately got to ~50% above my target. The difference was literally bonkers: +50% vs -10%. I'll never believe that mortgages are a commodity again. She is just that much more resourceful than other folks. As far as process, she's also incredibly good at communicating with you the way that you want to -- phone, email, text -- and at answering all the dumb questions you'll have, and gently correcting the misconceptions that ChatGPT might feed you along the way. Jackie for president! read more

I had been house hunting for about 1.5 yrs using a different lending company, and would always lose out on the bidding war. There was a huge corporate feeling working with that lender and I didn't get the personal touch to help me put strong offers. Then my realtor recommended me to Jackie with Exception Lending. She was very helpful and straight-to-the-point. She didn't beat around the bush and gave me good advice on how to put together a strong offer and one I would have confidence in. Also, she has a lot of experience in real estate and she's open to sharing her knowledge. Within a couple months working with Jackie, I was able to find the home we've been searching for! And when in comes to getting the loan approved, Jackie will be there step-by-step. She will let you know if you're progressing well and tell you things you should avoid to have a smooth closing process. She will be strict when it comes to getting your documents in, but that's for your own good :P I'm glad I got to meet Jackie and plan on working with her again to help other other family members find their home. read more

Jackie helped us with our complicated loan needs patiently and with a friendly demeanor. We'll be doing all our loans with her from now on.

I can't say enough good things about Jackie and her entire team at Exception Lending! They are absolutely wonderful! Jackie and her team processed our first home mortgage about five years ago, and earlier this month, she helped my wife and I refinance our original mortgage at a new lower rate, saving us a lot of money each month. Everybody knows how refi's go... they can be emotionally exhausting and documentation intensive! The great news? Jackie was supremely helpful throughout the process and explained everything. She personally eased us though several rough patches. Her entire team was professional, responsive and always helpful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Exception Lending to anyone! read more

Jackie really went to bat for us, Heather as well. This whole process can be stressful but we really appreciated this team's intensity - was welcome to say the least. To quote the great Tim Gunn, "Make it work!" read more

I receive the monthly newsletter from Jackie and love it! There is always great advice on the housing market, easy custom searches, great house buying statistics (like this months crime rate map! Awesome stuff!), and more. Every issue seems to have a great look into the general housing market as well as Bay Area specifics. You should get signed up before the next issue which I'm looking forward to because of the article on green building! read more

Jackie handled the refi of our home--we were originally using a broker that my wife had connections but switched to Jackie. What really sets Jackie apart is a knowledge that is both broad and deep of real estate and how loans work. This enables her to select products that give the home owner/buyer maximum value and make sense for your specific circumstances. She is especially good with cases that have special funding requirements. She is very willing to share her knowledge so you understand your loan--you will come away with the insight you need to make a smart decision. Financial empowerment. White glove treatment all the way! I fee very confident in recommending her to my friends and colleagues. read more

My husband and I started working with Jackie last year when we decided to seriously start looking for a home to purchase. She helped us through the pre-approval process, making sure we had all the proper documentation ready before making any offers since things tend to move quickly once an offer is accepted. We never once doubted how efficient, reliable, and knowledgeable Jackie is when it came to financing the purchase of our first home last July 2013. It was the second offer we had ever written, and we actually got the house! She not only answered all our questions promptly, but she kept us at ease the entire process by thinking out of the box, helping us get a good loan and locking us in at a great rate in today's market. We can't recommend anyone better to help with your financing. read more

Jackie is just amazing. I had a unusual and tricky situation and I was unsure if I could get financing. Jackie helped me get it and took care of me. She was able to use hard money, and then, creative financing to get me my home. She was kind, generous, helpful, smart and savvy. I found her through Yelp. And I told my real estate agent she needs to send people to Jackie, because took such good care of me. read more

I was referred to Jackie by our realtor back in 2011 for our first home purchase. I reached out to her again when we refinanced two years later. Both times we were extremely happy with her prompt and thorough service. We were in the market recently to refinance with cash out. For our third time seeking financing, my only choice was again, Jackie Cuneo. It is obvious she takes great pride in her work and will do all she can to seek out just the right financing for your situation. She is efficient, prompt, highly informative, and very skilled at her job. She will take the time to thoroughly explain every product to you, enabling you to make an informed decision. The process was very streamlined and fast with her use of an online system to upload your financial documents. She is also happy to take the time to meet with you in person. She and her team will do all they can to steer you in the right direction in your search for financing. I highly recommend her and Exception Lending to anyone who is looking to purchase or refinance a property. read more

Jackie helped us with a challenging funding situation and was a fantastic ally. We had spoken with another broker, but kept running into dead ends. It didn't feel like things were going to work out for us. A friend referred us to Jackie, who had so many great ideas to help us move forward. She was patient and diligent, always responded quickly to our MANY questions, and guided us through our first home purchase like a pro. We cannot say enough good things about Jackie and her team. We closed yesterday and I can say honestly that we wouldn't be here without her! read more

Exceptional results, thorough, prompt, professional and resourceful .. highly recommended

I was referred to Jackie from my investment portfolio manager and I'm very happy with the service. I've done quite a few mortgages and the process of getting a mortgage is similar to having dental surgery. However, Jackie was such a professional, she was there to answer questions, she always gave me a straight answer and was incredibly responsive to my communications when needed. She explains complex mortgage terms in simple ways that make it easy to make a decision. Also, I didn't feel "sold" as though she had a preference - she would present me with an objective choice and a recommendation. When folks ask me to get a mortgage done, I'll refer Jackie moving forward. read more

Wish yelp allowed negative ratings. We were referred to Jackie a while ago by our real estate agent. We were new to real estate world and so trusted our realtor and went to Jackie. BIGGEST MISTAKE on our part. We regret it to the date. She lost some of out documents and we were requested to re send it (some documents were being sent to her for the third time) to her while we were on a vacation, away from the country, despite asking Jackie if there was anything else needed before we left for the trip. When we returned from out trip and called the office, to our surprise Jackie was gone for a out of country trip for 2 weeks and her colleagues had no idea on the status of our application. When we would call Jackie, she will not give us any answers , so we started contacting the bank through which we were getting our loan and Jackie asked us to STOP calling the bank. Our realtor said that we should be able to close within 60 days , but guess what? Thanks to Jackie and the Opes advisors- the company she worked for that we were nowhere even close to closing within 60 days. We became homeless as we had given the 30 day notice at our previous apartment.Jackie seemed to be very knowledgable initially, but later on we realized what a terrible mistake we had made. we were never so stressed out and frustrated in our life before. It certainly did not make our first home buying experience a very pleasant one. read more

Following a referral to Jackie from a work collegue, the service was not only terrible throughout the process, on a laughable number of occasions we experienced blind incompetence and stark unprofessional behavior. Our long serving and trusted insurance agents told us they had never been asked for such detailed and irrelevant information. We submitted documents sometimes three times over, were referred back to our original questions in response to our questions. Jackie seemed to be very knowledgable initially, but later we realized Jackie and her team were not communicating and our concerns were not shared. Using this service significantly increased our stress and frustration. We had to work very hard to keep everything moving and stay on top of the process. Please look elsewhere for these services and make your buying experience brighter! read more

It was a pleasure working with Jackie and her team. She was very patient with us, and we had a situation that was more complicated than the conventional loan/mortgage. She always made sure our ducks were in a row when they needed to be. Jackie is very knowledgeable, calm, and took the time to explain and clarify things whenever we couldn't understand something (which was often!). I would recommend Jackie without hesitation! She is awesome. read more

Jackie is a joy, amazingly thorough and has a true gift for listening. She is a terrific communicator and her ability to maintain equanimity throughout a transaction is a professional skill set that I appreciate and value. I am an agent in San Francisco and just closed a deal with Jackie. Because she was so responsive and helpful every step of the way, we were able to close 5 days earlier than we initially scheduled--yes, you heard that right! My clients were first time buyers and she couldn't have made the transaction more seamless and stress-free. She is a collaborator, educator and creative thinker that gets the job done. This is exactly what's needed in the current SF real estate climate! read more

Jackie has been fantastic. I used her as my agent for a complex probate purchase in Berkeley. She has been excellent to work with. She is professional, thorough, responsive, communicative, accommodating, and provides great value even beyond the scope of her role. She takes care of the big things as well as the detailed minutia...and in my case was able to arrange concessions from the seller providing the icing on the cake. I look forward to working with Jackie again soon. read more

We interviewed other Realtors and picked Jackie because she appeared smart, direct, committed, and ambitious. We were not disappointed. Jackie helped us buy our flat in the Mission and when our offer was not accepted, she negotiated "back-up position" which meant our offer eventually was accepted. Jackie is fearless, tactful, responsive, and tireless. I have not found Realtors to be smart and engaging, so when we met Jackie, we found a great Realtor, have a new home, and made a friend. read more

I went to Jackie a couple of weeks ago to ask about a home for sale that I had spotted in the Zephyr window. It's not hard to heap more praise on Jackie (and Robert) who helped us with our mortgage. As foreigners, we didn't even think we'd qualify but we did! Jackie was incredibly patient with our many many questions and really shepherded us through the whole process. We were a bit anxious to use a financial advisor/mortgage bank as in the UK we'd always just used a bank but Jackie was clear, authoritative and knowledgeable. She completely allayed our fears and made the process almost stress free (almost....those underwriters......) but Jackie replied promptly to questions, early morning or late evening. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jackie for mortgage/financial services. The fact that she was a real estate agent previously gives additional insight and experience which was really helpful. read more

Jackie is extremely knowledgeable and responsive. She is a creative problem solver and dove right in to a very productive conversation about a multi-state, TIC-involved financing situation. While she isn't licensed in Texas - and likely knew that there wasn't business for her with me, since I live in Texas - she called immediately, talked with me, and pointed me in the right direction. What a relief! (With a TIC, I was getting NO blank walls from all of the lenders, without any conversation). I recommend Jackie highly to anyone who is buying a new home, whether you have a straightforward or complex situation. If I buy real estate in SF/California again, she will be my first call. read more

Jackie is great! I could not recommend her more highly. She helped me secure a great loan and made my home purchase possible. Perhaps the most amazing thing was that we were able to do all of it in a way that fit into my schedule. She was happy to chat in the evenings or on weekends. Most of the paperwork we were able to handle online. I could not have asked for a more convenient way to deal with all those forms. Jackie very helpful and guided me every step of the way. read more

If you're buying or selling property, look no further for a realtor. Jackie Cuneo is the goddess of San Francisco real estate: Fair, honest, punctual, reliable, sincere, delightful...but not pandering. She repped both myself--the buyer--and another friend of hers--the seller--during my first loft purchase, and I must say she handled what could have been a very difficult situation with neutrality, grace and aplomb. Believe it or not, the seller and I both felt we made out in the transaction. How often does that happen? Jackie Cuneo. Use her. read more

Jackie gave me some advice on a property I own. A few things I liked: 1) She did not try to sell me on anything 2) Jackie gave me candid, honest, "not necessarily to her benefit" tips 3) While lots of agents are up to date on things, Jackie was extremely knowledgeable about properties in my neighborhood 4) Jackie was cool, fun, easy to talk to 5) She shared with me insights about TIC, Condo conversion, and options that I'd not heard before. THANKS JACKIE - I'm happy to recommend you when the opportunity arises... read more

I was referred to Jackie at SummitFunding after my mortgage loan was was turned down by 2 lenders; an online lender (quicken loans) and local credit union (patelco). Jackie was very knowledgeable about the loan process, area I was buying and my situation as a renter, landlord and buying a second home. I have a tough schedule and she was very flexible in meeting when I had time, in our first meeting, she was able to assess my situation and provide some suggestions on how I should submit my loan (things the other lenders didn't do). She was soo confident she could get the loan funded, she even promised to fully refund my appraisal cost. Apprasial was ordered and completed within 4 business days. The loan was funded within 18 days, which is near record time. As with any large financial transaction, it was stressful at times, however Jackie was always there to assure me that everything is on track. I would highly recommend Jackie to anyone looking for loan or refi, she is very knowledge on the loan side but also on the real estate side of the transaction, especially in situation that don't fit in the box like big banks. read more

There has never been a better experience in buying a home than going through Jackie at Opes. She is brilliant when it comes to the whole explanation of the process and expectations setting for the client. She was absolutely responsive on every level and professional in her entire approach. If we had questions, she was prompt at answering and believe me, we had a lot. Also she did explain the why behind everything. Going through this process is so so stressful and she made it easier. I am happy to call Jackie a friend now due to how well we communicated throughout the last 60 days. When we needed a pre-approval letter, she was ready. We were able to close escrow within the appropriate time and were able to get our keys a couple of days before we thought we would. I really liked that we could call Jackie and she would listen. She would not push specific properties and she was up front about the legwork that we as the buyer would need to put into the documentation process. If you are considering purchasing a property in San Francisco I can not make another recommendation. This is the person you should start with. read more

Jackie helped us with our first home purchase. We had special financial needs because of our down-payment constraints. We had a lot of trouble customizing our loans with our primary bank (of 5+ years). Our realtor recommended Jackie who was extremely knowledgeable and was able to quickly customize the mortgages for us. She is extremely responsive, always available by email or phone for us. We had a couple of offers that needed a quick turnaround on the pre-approval letter and Jackie was always up to the task. Our WOW moment: We had a really good rate locked in when Jackie called to tell us that the rates on another instrument had dropped further. We quickly moved to the other mortgage and saved a fair bit of money. I would work with the team of Jackie and Robert again and would recommend them to my friends and family! read more

"My partner and I reached out to Jackie on a recommendation from a family member when we decided to purchase our first home. Jackie is incredibly knowledgeable about real estate transactions in San Francisco and walked us through the different loan scenarios that were available to us. Needless to say as first time home buyers we had many questions- Jackie made herself available to us, responding promptly and patiently to our inquiries, instilling confidence and trust along the way. Our transaction was slightly unique, we purchase the home from a close family member, and Jackie was able to give us valuable insight into the property tax laws in California regarding parent to child real estate sales which ended up being very advantageous for us. When it came time to locking our rate she delivered well below her estimate. Our experience with Jackie and her team was excellent and I would highly recommend her to anyone purchasing real estate in San Francisco." read more
