We have absolutely loved our last two seasons at Exceleration and are so excited to be heading into our third! The environment here is incredibly healthy, loving, and supportive. Laurie, the owner, clearly cares so much about the kids and she strikes the perfect balance of ensuring they learn proper technique while genuinely wanting them to love dance and have fun. In fact, that passion clearly trickles down to the entire faculty; all the teachers and staff seem to truly love working with kids and sharing the love of dance. A huge shoutout to Miss Becca, who has been exceptional with our daughter and her entire team this year. She challenges them to grow, constantly encourages them, and makes sure they have fun along the way! The kids at the studio are all so happy and lovely. Owner Laurie is so rude! Very short tempered and should not be running a kids dance studio! She has zero accommodations for parents and expects parents to stand for an hour because she doesn't like to provide chairs for parents. My son has only been here a week and yet I have to post a review. This environment was so immediately supportive and welcoming, and you can tell from the moment you arrive that all the dancers are so thrilled to be here. I took dance for 15 years (many years ago and at another studio) and I was sort of reticent about allowing my son to take dance, even though it's his passion, because I had a very hit or miss experience with dance teachers, many of whom were exceptionally critical. Excelaration is nothing like my own experience, and nothing like you may have seen on certain "reality shows." The teachers here are warm, kind and passionate. The students seem almost hand-picked to be supportive of each other rather than competitive with one another. The facilities are amazing, and the leadership goes out of their way to make the studios inviting (balloon arch and sparkle wall to greet the dancers back after summer? amazing!) But lest you think this studio is all sparkle and no substance, don't be fooled. In just the first week of classes my son has learned two different combos, as well as key components of stretching and technique. Already he's learned more than in an entire year of another dance program. If you're looking for a supportive place where your kid will be accepted for who they are, and will also be challenged to be the best dancer they can be, this is the place for you! read more

This post is long overdue as I sent my daughter there for one season and had the worse experience with the owner. I don't mind the teachers so much but where should I start? I'd say the owner Laurie is the most malicious and fake person I've ever met. She sends these long instructions prior to recitals confusing parents about where to go and what and how to do things without getting her facts straight (for one) and when confronting her about it she downright gets upset at you for not figuring out her lazy attempt at creating instructions for the parents. Like we aren't busy already! All she does is complain about HOW busy SHE is because she has X amount of students (pity party of course) when ALL she could've done was apologize for her own misgivings! Pretty much saying - "Here I'm wrong but it's not my fault, it's yourrrrrrrrr fault" because of course I'm the idiot for calling out her errors ;P Not to mention - her yelling at my kid the first week she started her first tap class telling her "No shoes on hard wood floors!!" Ummmmmmmmmmm ARE THERE SIGNS ANYWHERE SAYING NO SHOES??? .. Then comes yelling with her screechy voice during middle of the ballet sessions (unprofessionally) at the teachers to get the kids awayy from a over 100 pound gym mat that's so carelessly placed along the wall of the studio, with no secured lines holding it in place. Ahhhh tooo cheap to install it properly so would rather play a juggling game and blame the teachers for YOUR carelessness. So typical - BLAME BLAME BLAME. Although she attempted a half hearted apology for her rudeness after I berated her tone it was not genuine. And that's when I had to ask myself "Is this a studio I want my child to learn, thrive, and 'excel' in? Because by far I don't think the owner cares less about anybody BUT herself. Had she been a good person I would whole heartedly have been so apologetic about what a hard time SHE'S having since it seems like ITS ALL ABOUT HER. But no, SHE's ungrateful & petty. Definitely not a place to raise good, smart, successful children since it seems like her failed attempt at being a dancer has triggered her to open up a dance studio : not because she truly is great ;D look at her, she could not care less as long as she's making money because I'd think that someone who knows they're great treat others with the same respect you give yourself. Doesn't matter if you're young, old, stupid or smart : but of course these are lessons she never learned or doesn't apply into her "teaching philosophies" as she really doesn't have any! I'd think twice about sending your kids to a school/studio under the guidance of someone as unprofessional and lame as she is! No hard feelings, but I really had to put this one out there ~ because WITH HER definitely will be going down the wrong path. This is her response after she sent me an email telling me to print out her 50 pages of non relevant instructions because I'm not understanding her excessive and unclear confusing information. I swear she thinks they're cute! AND she told me to come on Thursday (wasting my time but of course not apologetic about that at all) . I can't believe that I haven't written a review yet! My son has been dancing with Exceleration Studios for over two years now and there's no sign of him stopping! Exceleration Studios is his home away from home. He came from another local studio where after being there for a couple of years, his spirit was so broken and he was so stressed out that he said he didn't want to dance anymore. It broke my heart because this was a kid who came out of the womb dancing! So, we tried Exceleration and within a couple of classes he came bouncing out saying he felt like he was soaring and after all this time he still feels that way! He's grown tremendously as a dancer, performer and human under the professional, kind, encouraging environment that all of his instructors provide. There isn't one class or instructor he doesn't love! We are so grateful we made the decision to try Exceleration when we did. So glad we found this place. They have a ton of great classes for children of any age in any talent level. They have an amazing dance recital at the end of the year that everybody participates in. Where do I begin? My daughter started dancing here from the beginning when the studio first opened 4 years ago. She was 3 then and took the mini class and I couldn't watch them in class because I had no patience but their teachers (specially Laurie) have an enormous amount of patience. Therefore they always end up with an amazing recital every year showcasing all of the dancers from young to old. My daughter is 7 now and is part of the stars team for the second year and gets to compete twice a year. Dancing has allowed her to be an organized, well rounded child and I am very grateful for that. As a parent I appreciate that their routines are always kid friendly and classy. There is a class for anyone that loves to dance. They have recreational classes, clubs and teams for boys and girls of all ages. I recommend anyone and everyone to try them out. read more

I owe so much to this studio. My daughter is an only child and she's pretty shy. After a bad experience at gymnastics (she fell off the beam and never wanted to return), the only thing my daughter didn't shrug off was dance. We signed her up for one class and she blossomed right before my eyes. She gained confidence in the first year.
