The focus is on building a well rounded dancer that can take their experience to college or to a professional ballet company or to just have fun! Jason Coosner, the studio Director and main choreographer, has his MFA and has created this academy for all of the right reasons. He is the president of Dance Masters Pacific Coast and also teaches at the Relativity School. His choreography is absolutely beautiful, age appropriate and truly shows off the strengths of each dancer. I can't imagine anyone else choreographing my daughters contemporary solos. His work is award winning. For those that have kids with serious dance aspirations, my 11 year old got accepted to the School of American Ballet CA intensive on full scholarship this summer. It's a pretty big deal. With all of her BDA training, she was able to walk into her classes completely confident, independent and take on the new Balanchine style easily. Many think they have to go to a ballet only school to compete at YAGP or get into a company. Nope! Elyse placed 2nd in contemporary and top 10 in classical and was invited to the NY YAGP Finals this past year at age 10. The beauty of this academy is that she can strive to be a professional ballerina doing ballet along with all of the other dance forms. Dance is joy! A simple phone call and a more professional, customer-friendly approach would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, this experience left a poor first impression.

I loved that Coach Tig made the workout accessible and challenging for everyone in the class, no matter their age or fitness level. It was zumba with 3 brief sessions of dumbbells and resistance bands, and a surprisingly fun workout - I wasn't sore the next day, but definitely worked up a sweat and an appetite afterwards. The Glendale Room is one of my favorite places to perform and watch comedy! The book store /…read morelibrary / scholastic book fair vibe is so much fun!! It's a serene, intimate, well lit spot that makes everyone feel comfortable. The tech always sounds amazing at the Glendale Room. I love performing here because there are always two working microphones. I also love how relaxed and chill everyone that works here is. I think one of my favorite things about watching comedy here is the couch in the back right corner. It's so comfortable I like to sit here to watch and perform. Glendale Room has a ton of open mics for anyone that wants to try stand up for the first couple of times. There are also snacks and drinks available for purchase on the honor system. How trusting! But really, the Glendale Room is a fabulous spot for some weekday or weekend entertainment. Parking is very convenient in the parking garage and every time I've parked- it's been easy.
