I realized that in many cases I would intuitively come up with a lengthier, more complicated process than necessary. Jae helped me with this, explaining the optimal solution and how I could do it easier and faster next time. Also, I didn't know to solve rate problems, so Jae explained that to me very clearly. The first time in April with no prep and got a 23 and the…read moresecond time I prepared with a very expense tutor for a month to only receive a 24 a month later. I am not a very good test taker so my friend recommended me to take the Y2 Academy. It was my summer into senior year so I was up for anything. Let me tell you it is not cheap. After prepping with them the whole summer I only received a 26 on my ACT. Not four points higher like they guarantee they claim. You get homework that is a full-length test. First of all, I thought the homework was useless you take it home and do it and don't over it in class if you do it's very briefly. I understand we need homework but maybe something like a worksheet with exercises or half a test homework would work better. What I learned from this class that is if you don't have a fundamental understanding on a specific topic they will not go over it. They just go over test questions and answers. In this regard, I believe you need to figure out your weak points in the specific areas such as Trigonometry in math on your own. They won't do that they will just give you test scores. Not worth the money. Try to prep yourself or get a cheaper tutoring service.

Dr. Donnelly gave me strategies for tackling each section, along with practical tips for what to do when I felt stuck or unsure how to approach a question. He especially helped me improve in Chem/Phys and CARS. Dr. Donnelly has a great CARS method that taught me how to work through passages faster and more efficiently while approaching questions with greater confidence. CARS was initially an intimidating section for me, but with his guidance, I was able to score in the 90th percentile on test day! I was also very rusty on my chemistry and physics foundations when I began studying. Dr. Donnelly helped me review the necessary content while focusing my attention on the highest-yield concepts, equations, and values to memorize. He gave me incredibly helpful tips and tricks for choosing the right equations and quickly determining how to approach different types of C/P questions. With his help, I increased my Chem/Phys score from a 125 on my diagnostic exam to a 132 on test day! Beyond his expertise, Dr. Donnelly is incredibly kind, patient, encouraging, and flexible with scheduling. I attribute so much of my test-day success to his guidance. This is going to be long, but a must read!!…read more If you've been struggling with the LSAT let me be the first to say it has NOTHING to do with your intelligence!!! Read that again. It doesn't matter how many times you've took the LSAT or who got into law school before you. Your time is coming. I've took the LSAT MULTIPLE times and have a history of underperformance on standardized tests. I never understood why until I found Shana. I never thought for a second that I possibly could be suffering from test anxiety. Test anxiety takes on many forms, but Shana will help you through it. I've been working Shana for the past two weeks remotely and let me tell you she's truly God sent. Whether you're religious or spiritual (maybe neither) it doesn't matter, but she's truly a blessing. Shana is passsionate about the work that she does and her students. Shana is a teacher at heart and she breaks down the material in such a way that things start to click instantly. Shana not only helps you master the LSAT, but she provides you with test anxiety strategies that will make studying easy. I look forward to studying with Shana and doing my hw. Most of the instructors have never been teachers before and only started after scoring in the 99th percentile on the LSAT. However, just because you're good at something doesn't mean you're qualified to teach it.
