They lure you in by giving a week free trial, they tell you how flexible they are. And at the end of the day they put your child in high a chairs for time outs, they allow sick children to still come in. They allow sick staff to take care of your children. The owners mother has a TERRIBLE bedside manner and no respect for the parents at all. If you show up or call before opening she will give you an attitude because it cuts into her coffee and chain-smoking newports on the side of the building before the kids come in. They give children tap water, don't heat up their food, don't give babies their bottles. They actually let the bottles sit out for hours on end. I cannot say enough bad things about this facility. Please please please don't take your children here.

If there are any conflicts among the children they let you know at pick-up. They cater a hot lunch from a local Russian deli, which includes a soup, protein and vegetable. Far easier than sending your own lunch, and far healthier than any other daycare I visited - no chicken fingers and fries here. They are open later than most; follow a classroom environment with lesson plans for even the youngest class; great helping with potty training; get the kids outside every day (weather permitting); plan fun fieldtrips in the summer. The only drawback is the older facility, but there has been updates to A/C units, new flooring, etc., and they do have entrance security. If we had a third, we would not hesitate to send them to AdventureLand.

Looking for education supplies? Look no further than The Learning Wheel!…read more The Learning Wheel is the go to establishment for all school supplies of Elementary and Junior High School teachers around the Sheepshead Bay area. The business has been in operations since I can remember since when I was in the second grade! The store is somewhat cluttered, but that's a compliment to their array of products available for purchase. All of the products are neatly displayed and are segmented by both grades and subjects. The following are various educational tools available for purchase... Banners Calendars Children's Books Chart Tablets Flash Cards Regents Books and Much More... Back when I was in the fifth grade, The Learning Wheel was the only place that supplied the science presentation board that I needed in order to display my science project. Granted, The Learning Wheel charged $7.00 (when the school charged $4.00), I was still able to obtain this one piece of important presentation material when no one else had it in stock. Thanks Learning Wheel for helping me past the fifth grade! If it weren't for you, I would've been left back, amounted to nothing, and been working a dead end job making $6.50 an hour! You guys are the best!!!

The staff is OK, but they could definitely be a bit nicer. The store hours are also inconvenient, so you should definitely plan out your purchases. The stuff there is really overpriced. I purchased a test prep book for $27, and then I realized I could have purchased it online straight from the manufacturer for $20. They make their own bar codes and prices. But overall, the store is small and nice. The products are organized fairly easy to find. By the way, they're closing at the end of September 2010, so right now, everything is 50% off!

If you're seeking a place where your kids are safe, well-looked after and and environment where they can be themselves and create and grow, this the place. There is a very good mix of educational activities along with some good old-fashioned fun, and lots of time for the kids to jump and play and spend time outdoors. But the real difference is the people. Well trained, courteous, and most importantly really love and know how to handle children. They bring out the best in kids.

I informed the school of dietary restrictions for my child and also had given all forms required by them prior to starting from the doctor. Unfortunately this allergy was not taken seriously. On multiple occasions my child was served foods that they were allergic to. After the 1st time I was then told that the allergy chart was not up and that there was a miscommunication and it was understood that there were no restrictions for the child's diet. (Even though there was doctors notes in place) I was also told I would have to bring food from home or that they can serve the sides of the day excluding the protein. I was also told that the child would be separated from the rest of the class to make sure of the possibility of the child eating someone's else food wouldnt happen. I thought this would be a good idea but still from then on I was so paranoid that I would remind the staff the day of and call after lunch each time this item was on the menu to assure my child was ok. On the second occasion I spoke to the teacher who ASSURED me that my child did not eat the allergic item. 30 mins later I get a call that my child actually did and was experiencing allergic reactions. I was told that the teacher, yes the teacher was out of the room durning lunchtime and that the aid served lunch and fail to check the chart. With all that being said if you don't want to micro manage your child's school just skip this one. The staff is undertrained and the most important things get overlooked.
