Unfortunately, that feeling changed completely at pickup. When we arrived, we walked to her classroom and noticed the children were outside on the toddler playground, with the door propped open by a foam block. As we approached, we witnessed a teacher forcefully grab another child by the arm. That moment immediately raised serious concerns. We went outside right away to find our daughter. The staff member supervising the group was not her usual teacher. The supervising staff member appeared to be very overwhelmed watching the young children. When I located her among the other children, her face was very red and there was a visible mark on her arm that resembled a handprint. I picked her up and we left immediately. Before leaving, I stopped at the director's office to report what we had seen. I was told there are no cameras covering the outdoor area. What a huge liability! I requested a refund and we will not be returning. This experience was deeply upsetting, and I would strongly urge other parents to carefully consider their options.

Ever since they were acquired by KinderCare, the curriculum, service, safety, and value have gone…read moredown significantly. Their office staff are nasty and harass parents and discuss inappropriate topics in front of the young students and other families. No privacy or discretion. Their director is no where in site, she's literally not there or hides in the office and never comes out to say hi. Bring Kelly back! The employees are inappropriate. And the quality of the art and work sent home with the kids nosedived, we trash 80% of it whereas we used to save and frame it all. The teachers are very sweet, and they carry this facility on their backs. The level of disrespect and discrimination we've faced makes me sick. The admin staff has us to the point where we are thinking we might switch when we can get in someplace better. The facility is dirty half the time anymore and always smells like a dirty diaper. Our youngest constantly comes back in a dirty diaper like they haven't been checked! And we really only stayed hoping the quality would level out and get back to where it was, but it hasn't. Crème is not worth anything they charge and after our oldest was significantly injured onsite (conveniently off camera) and the staff dodged us (but we handled things calmly), we are looking into our options for that incident and we would never recommend going here. Save your money. They're soulless. I would be interested in a pathway to a better experience and solution for our child's previous injury, but I do NOT want to deal with the RM for this site. So, I will not share my information if that's who will contact me, I'd prefer higher up at this point.

So, here's my story…read more March of 2021, we registered to reserve a spot for our daughter to attend. We let the ladies at Chesterbrook know that we were looking to move, and made sure to verify that our deposit would be refundable should we move out of the area. A few months later, we did wind up moving too far to make Chesterbrook a viable option, and began the process of having our money returned to us. Fast forward to March of 2022, and the quest continues. We have called FOURTEEN TIMES, spoken to a dizzying amount of "Laurens" and even had the one person that was handling our request go on maternity leave. Think about that; the person that was supposed to see to our refund had time to get pregnant, began maternity leave, and our money is still not refunded. I have been told countless times that I will receive a phone call. I usually don't. I have called their parent company, Spring Education Group, who have ALSO ignored my voice messages. You can't leave a voice message at Chesterbrook, as their mailbox is full. We have been patient, polite, understanding and calm through this whole ordeal. The ladies at Chesterbrook are always very nice and respectful when we do get to interact with them, but it's obvious that once they have your money, you're no longer a priority. The school itself seemed pretty old and a bit worn when we took our tour, but because the staff seemed so pleasant, we decided to make sure we reserved a spot. (Another thing they were a hard sell on.....they made sure to impress upon us that we should reserve immediately, or the spots would be gone. Red flag.) If I had known communication would be so rough, I never would have signed up. All I want is my refund. My daughter never set foot in their school, yet they are holding on to almost $500 of my money.

In the infant room, each teacher is assigned to the same 4 infants daily. I was very impressed with this as each teacher learns their assigned infants, rather than the infants being passed around and cared for by different people every day. My daughter had horrible eczema as an infant and her teacher was EXTREMELY helpful in getting it under control by following the skin care regimen the pediatrician recommended. My daughter was always clean, happy and healthy. I never had to worry that my baby wasn't being cared for. The piece of mind alone was invaluable. My daughter is now getting ready to enter the school's pre-k program. She has learned so much throughout the years at Laurel tree and I am confident that she will be prepared, if not over prepared, for kindergarten next year. I am always impressed at the creative and hands-on ways the children are educated. I will forever be indebted to Laurel Tree Academy, their owners, teachers and other staff. Putting your child in someone else's care while you go back to work can be a scary thing, but thankfully TLE eased our worries from day one. They provided us with constant reassurance that our daughter would be well cared for, and we truly feel that she is in the best hands. We have had such a wonderful experience so far at TLE in Marlton! Our 1-year-old daughter has absolutely thrived in the infant classroom, and it's all thanks to her amazing teachers--Miss Selena, Miss Meredith, Miss Carolyn, Miss Michelle, and Miss Sarah. Each of them brings something special to our daughter's day, from nurturing her development to making sure she feels safe and loved. The positive atmosphere they create has made such a difference in our daughter's growth and happiness. Our daughter is genuinely excited to go to daycare every morning, and it's so reassuring to know she is in a place where she feels comfortable, secure, and excited to learn. When we pick her up at the end of the day, she's always smiling and full of joy. One of the things we really appreciate is the app that lets us stay connected throughout the day. It's so reassuring to be able to check in and see pictures of her, along with updates on her activities and how she's doing. It makes us feel so involved and at ease knowing she's having a great time while we're apart. The TLE team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure each child's well-being, and we couldn't be more grateful for the care and attention they provide. We love the management staff and appreciate them as well. We highly recommend TLE in Marlton to any parents looking for a nurturing, safe, and enriching environment for their little ones. The overall school atmosphere is like something out of a fairytale. From pick up to drop off, we are greeted with smiling faces, kind students, friendly parents and an overall feeling of inclusion. Academically, we were impressed with the curriculum at the PK and K levels. In addition to his normal class schedule, our son has two special-subject areas each day; one being Coding (taught by the amazing Rachel Kaplan). All special areas are wonderful, but as I understand it, MFS is the only school in NJ to teach Coding (which is the future) at the PK and K levels. We are planning to start our younger son, age 2, into the PS program next year as he will be old enough to enroll (age 3) by September.

He came from a private school in Philadelphia where he graduated top of his class, and won Pennsylvania awards for musicianship and was head chorister at his professional church choir. He is also now an award winning pianist and composer. His creativity was saved at MFS by Ed Robertson and Rich Marcucci - just wonderful artists and musicians. Other than that no one else seemed to care about his level of musicianship. During his junior year we asked for specific help about applying to creative and performing arts schools. During College admissions night, the guidance counselors admitted to us they had no process in place for developing our creative students' porfolios. After checking with Westtown School, Friends Central, Friends Select and Germantown Friends, we realized that MFS was really lacking in their ability to help our creative children. After spending $16,000 a year on our son's high school education we were truly disappointed in MFS's lack of help for our creative child and also their lack of folow up after the college admissions night. They really had no idea how to treat college applications for creative students. They only seemed to are about Ivy League level students and had no interest in their creative students. We would truly like to know whether things have changed. If not, I will continue to recommend Moorestown High School or one of the Philadelphia Friends Schools if parents have a creative child and live in this area. Renee Jones
