The smile I was promised was very short lived and soon after I paid for my services i have returned several times after my front teeth simply come unglued time and time again. My dream smile has never been the product as I was promised and Now that Dr. Michael Giolovin has left the practice and the The dentists at South Shore group claim no responsibility for my ongoing problem with my teeth falling off. Their solution? They say it's bite issue and they simply want to wash their hands of their responsibilities sending me away in tears and without a plan to manage and fix the job of fixing my teeth as the group guaranteed on consultation. On my last visit 7/25 a co-owner and dentist, Christian Harteu gave me a letter sending me to see yet another specialist, leaving me with loose veneers and no one wants to be responsible for Dr. Mike's work now that he has moved his practice to Florida. I feel hurt and cheated out of thousands of dollars and no one help in finding a solution to fixing my smile. As I write this report a tooth on my front left is wiggly and about to fall off. The solution from Dr. Christian was to do nothing about it. If anyone can help me find a solution to this please reach out to

I called three months in advance specifically to secure surgery during a pre-approved week off in January. I was explicitly told there was availability, with the only requirement being a pre-op appointment. I completely understand this needed pre- appt. I drove in from Chicago at 5AM for that appointment, and was told my X-rays from 12 months prior were "too old." While frustrating, I understood and agreed to repeat imaging, paying $450 that day. After the exam, I was sent to reception to pay and "schedule surgery," only to then be told I would need yet another appointment before surgery could even be scheduled -- something that was never disclosed minutes earlier in the room. After explaining that I had already made a lengthy trip and that this was not what had been communicated to me, the staff briefly conferred and suddenly said they could perform the cone beam scan that same day for an additional $350. Wanting to avoid yet another trip and finally move forward, I agreed and paid on the spot. After completing the scan, I was once again sent to reception, where I was then told they actually could not accommodate surgery during the very week they had originally promised. At that point, I had paid roughly $800 for appointments day of and scans based entirely on their assurances, only to be told they could not deliver what had been guaranteed. I remained polite, rescheduled for my next available time off (cancelling my personal VACATION) in March, and clearly explained that this would be my only window until June. I also emphasized that I am in significant pain and that the delay was severely impacting my quality of life. The response was largely dismissive. I left defeated and disappointed, but understood that things happen. I received a call last week (Feb.9th from Allie) informing me that they could not perform my surgery at all because Dr. Kimmel would be "busy." It is baffling that I was scheduled in the first place if this was the case. At this point, I politely requested copies of my receipts, X-rays, and cone beam scan so I could seek care elsewhere. The tone immediately shifted, and I was met with impatience, dismissiveness, and clear irritation simply for asking for records I had paid for. When the emailed records did not include the $350 cone beam scan, I followed up and again encountered attitude questioning why I would need it despite the fact that I personally funded it. It was eventually mailed to me on a CD. This entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and profoundly unprofessional. My family has spent tens of thousands of dollars here over the years as uninsured, cash-paying patients, which makes this level of disregard even more disappointing. It is clear to me the dismissive communication here demonstrates a serious lack of respect for patients' time, finances, and well-being. To say I am disappointed in the level of care and professionalism would be an understatement. This is not how you treat loyal, paying patients. I hope this is a "one-off" situation for this office because Dr. Kimmel himself was incredibly kind and thorough with explaining my surgery that I unfortunately, will not be having here.

I was already feeling uneasy, and overhearing the dentist next door speak to a patient in a dismissive, cold tone only made it worse. When I realized that was the provider I was about to see, I had a feeling it wouldn't go well--and it didn't. He showed zero empathy, especially toward someone like me who's insecure about their teeth and trying to build confidence again. He couldn't give real guidance--just said, "it's whatever you want to do." My mouth was full of blood and uncomfortable, and I had to ask for water and a cup to rinse. That should be automatic, not something I have to request. He didn't say goodbye, didn't acknowledge me at the end--he just talked to the assistant like I wasn't even there and walked off. The only person who treated me with any care was the dental assistant. To make matters worse, they never scanned the insurance info I sent or the signed form for my X-rays. I had to follow up three times just to be taken seriously. This experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and emotionally draining. I won't be returning. The office in Wauwatosa is usually pretty well but this one AVOID IT AT ALL COST

I don't know if it is common practice to make patients wait five months to have work done. Maybe all oral surgeons make their patients wait that long. What I do know is that this office used a retired prosthodontist from out of state to make the actual implant for my mouth. I also know that this office rescheduled my appointments more times than they kept them. In addition, I can attest that one of the times my appointment was moved was AFTER I was already in the chair waiting to have the work done. It wasn't until the moment that the implant was to be placed that she realized that it had not arrived yet. There I was, mouth open, waiting for the work to begin, when I was told "Oopsie, we don't have the implant. Come back later." As a person who does not receive Paid Time Off for such situations, the frequent rescheduling that seems to be common for this office has been extremely costly for me. I asked several times for a discount to off-set my lost wages, and have been stone-walled. Use Wendy Pietz only if: (A) You can't find anywhere else to go. (B) You have a very flexible schedule. (C) You don't mind waiting a long time. And (D) You don't mind losing multiple work days for your oral surgery needs. Otherwise, you'd be better off going somewhere else.

After having two prior dentists maul my teeth I was hesitant to give another one a try. My hubby prodded me and I finally gave in and made an appointment with Dr Depledge. First, there was no dental shaming with you haven't been in how long? He first took some updated photos which you can see on the flat screen TV that drops down...very cool! Next we talked about a plan to get a couple of crowns and a whitening program so my teeth will match. I've been in a few times and every time they are so pleasant and just the little extras mean a ton. He puts in Netflix while you are getting work done so you have a distraction. His office won the landscaping award with cool garden sculptures. He tries to make the environment as pleasant as possible. Pricing is reasonable and will be around $800+ for one veneer so my front smile will be perfect. They take insurance and will work with you and try to schedule so that you can get work done in different years to maximize your insurance. If you are a proclaimed "dentalphobe" like most people I highly recommend you try out Dr. Depledge.
