I had to miss an appointment 2 weeks ago due to a work emergency and called the day before my appointment to cancel. I was charged a $100 dollar cancel fee because it was within 48 hours of my appointment. It was the first time I have had to cancel an appointment so close to the actual appointment. I was annoyed by the fee since I had been going there so long, but it was understandable. I was the one who cancelled. I had a cleaning appointment today (2 weeks later) so I was going to pay the fee when I arrived. When I arrived the receptionist told me all my appointments were canceled because of the fee. No phone call or text for the cancellation or the fee, nor anything stating I would have all my appointments cancelled until the fee was paid. I guess I'll have to charge them a $100 cancellation fee. Also, they have cancelled appointments the day of the appointment on me before.

These people tell you what you want to hear but they are very dishonest. Also, every time I call the office I am greeted by the friendliest receptionists who are not only friendly but also prompt and efficient. I never feel judged here and always feel listened to. Plus the TVs with streaming service and location by the Third Ward and Screaming Tuna are all nice bonuses, if you ask me!

My first appointment was about a hour in a half. I got x rays, a cleaning, and a consultant from Dr. Christian. My hygenist was Andrea and explained everthing to me before she did it. We came up a plan with Dr. Christian to get my smile back on track. I was pretty happy with the whole experience and go back next month to get some work done. Unlike some other dentists I've been to, who sometimes rushed and did sloppy work, Dr.Stiglitz was always very patient and meticulous, and did it right the first time. When I had a crown crack after ~4 years, he replaced it at no cost without question. Not his fault the material was defective, just a bad batch from the lab that made them. I was sad to see him retire. However, his young replacement, Dr. Hall, has proven to be just as patient and meticulous. Monika and the rest of the staff are also very professional. Only had one bad experience with a hygienist who seemed to have a chip on her shoulder, but she did her job, so I brushed it off as a bad hair day.

This is the second time I've…read moresent a child to a dentist to be told he has multiple cavities that need filling, only to get a second opinion to find out that they absolutely do not need filling yet, and that they can be treated with good brushing and some floride rinse, and, hopefully, will never need filling. This time, sadly, I was too late. I allowed one filling to be taken care of before I got the second opinion. The dentist who looked at the original xrays specifically pointed out that the 3 "cavities" diagnosed at Shorewood Family Dentistry were in fact still in the initial phase of decay, and not through the enamel yet. Dentists, like all many of us I guess, have to pay their mortgages and student loans. But there is no excuse! I also found it not only odd, but possibly suspicious, that the dentist himself chose to clean this child's teeth instead of having the hygienist do it. I'd never heard of that happening before.
