Appointment scheduled for Dec 30 as the Doctor was on vacation until then. I had a confusing entry on my calendar and called the office today (Dec 29) to clarify the date/time. I was told it is scheduled for Dec 30 .... but the doctor has decided to take more time off and I would have to reschedule. They just wasted $3K of my money. I will need more work done next year which is why I scheduled for Dec 30 to use up my balance for 2025. Of course they are sorry. I never got a call ... nothing. I will never go back there. I mean, seriously, today the man corrected a weak bond tooth created by an oral surgeon and didn't even charge me for another doctor's error! I have an in-process implant going on right now, so I need a temporary implant cover that can last for more than a couple weeks...but I digress. Dr. Clausius agreed to squeeze me into the schedule on a day when we both had busy schedules. Academic exams for me, dental exams for him. He not only allowed a short notice visit, but he did not charge me for the visit despite the urgent nature. I feel safe here and I will plan to sign my daughters up for care here next. Also, have you ever been charged for anesthesia D9215? A regular filling includes numbing the tooth with a shot. To add D9215 is called "unbundling" a procedure from the primary filling code. In other words you were billed twice for the numbing shot. Check your billing statements. I almost missed it.

When I realized that was the provider I was about to see, I had a feeling it wouldn't go well--and it didn't. He showed zero empathy, especially toward someone like me who's insecure about their teeth and trying to build confidence again. He couldn't give real guidance--just said, "it's whatever you want to do." My mouth was full of blood and uncomfortable, and I had to ask for water and a cup to rinse. That should be automatic, not something I have to request. He didn't say goodbye, didn't acknowledge me at the end--he just talked to the assistant like I wasn't even there and walked off. The only person who treated me with any care was the dental assistant. To make matters worse, they never scanned the insurance info I sent or the signed form for my X-rays. I have been going to them for at least two years, and right from the start the whole team is friendly and welcoming. The front office team greets you by name after a visit or two. I've mostly been seen by Dr. Nguyen, who is an amazing dentist, gentle with fillings and always smiling! The other dentists are also great, I just haven't seen them as much. The dental hygienists are also a great team, I've had cleanings with both Mary's and they're so good at what they do that I look forward to my appointments. Anyway, my dad has an appointment tomorrow and I thought I would tag along so we could go to lunch after, and I thought I would write a nice review since the whole team deserves praise for the great work they do!

I spent a total of 20 minutes from getting taken back by a new hygienist my information gone over, my gums checked , my four front bottom teeth had some plaque, ran the cleaner over my teeth and asked if I wanted a fluoride treatment. set up a new appointment which took 5 minutes of the twenty. given a toothbrush etc. in a bag. Then out front paying for half of a deep cleaning?????? I am looking for a new dental office.
