He knows amazing specialists to refer if the issue is beyond something he can resolve. In fact, I have been told by University of Miami specialists and Joe DiMaggio specialists how good of a pediatrician he is. The minute I tell them I was referred by him, I am immediately told the respect they have for him. I have NEVER had a bad or disappointing experience with him. He has been down a receptionist for a while, which makes him a one man show but that does not diminish the attention and care that he puts into his patients. As any good local knows, good, long term help is extremely hard to find in the Keys. Any person on here complaining about that clearly has no idea what running a small business in the Keys is like. Anyone claiming he is rude should reevaluate their own behavior. I would choose Dr. Hernandez over and over as my child's doctor.

Dr.Michael Hernandez answered the phone(no employees)spoke to me rudely, and hung up. When I called back, he confirmed he hung up and instructed me not to call again. This interaction was disrespectful, inappropriate, and alarming coming from a pediatric provider. Parents seeking care for their children may want to consider other options.‼

Title: Baptist Health Primary Care: Where Low Expectations Go to Die…read more I went into Baptist Health Primary Care with realistic expectations - I mean, we're #37 in healthcare globally (thanks, World Health Organization) - so, you know, not exactly expecting the Ritz-Carlton of healthcare experiences. I just needed my cholesterol checked and my prescription renewed, which, by the way, my insurance (thanks, Cigna!) covers as "preventative care." But apparently, at Baptist, "preventative" means "prepare to be fleeced." My "appointment" with the doctor lasted maybe 10 minutes. He shook my hand to bolt out the door before even doing the standard chest-listening routine - because apparently, even the theatrics of care are too much effort. Then came the kicker: they mis-coded it, and Cigna kicked back the $400 charge. For ten minutes of this clown's time. Now I'm getting bills with no way to talk to anyone from Baptist about it. They hand you off to a billing company that literally has a pre-recorded message telling you they can't help you before you even get a person on the line. They say, "Call the doctor directly." So I did - and guess what? Clueless. Complete shoulder-shrugging. But I have figured out a solution - call it "arbitration" if you will. I sent them 10 percent of the bill. In my mind, this was a $40 job, and that's what I paid. I figure, if I take 10 minutes of this guy's day, I'm not paying him four times what I'd tip a barista. So, Baptist Health, you've been informed - consider this my formal response. If you have an issue with my math, hit me up here on Yelp.

Refused to take me as a Walk-In Patient to help resolve the issueI I had to go to another Urgent Care just to get a simple Prescription Refill. All of this while in PAIN. I will be filing a Formal Complaint with Baptist Health.

As a young woman I find it important to have a good OBGYN to take care of me and my birth control…read moreneeds. So, when I moved to the keys I had hoped to find that here and instead I was met with the worst service ever. Things were looking up when I had a short wait time in the waiting area and was able to get moved to an exam room quickly where my vitals were checked...but it was all downhill after that. On these two separate occasions I had to wait 45 minutes to see a doctor and both times I had to get out of the exam room to ask for a doctor because it seemed as though they had completely forgotten I was there. Then, both times I had different male doctors which did not bother me except for when they were telling me that being on birth control is not my body's natural state. Then when I explained why I was on the birth control (bad PMS issues) they responded with unprofessional looks and had to leave to get a female OBGYN to finish the conversation with me. Later, they would not refill my birth control pills and I would have to call the center once a month and ask them if I could get on a constant refill basis (every time I asked this they would say yes) but sure enough come the next month I would have to ask again. The one star they earned was for their nice nurses and great secretarial staff along with the once nice female OBGYN. I will be looking for a new care provider immediately.
