DO NOT COME HERE! Unless you have certain cards or have certain banks, you're always going to end up losing a little money when you exchange currencies, which is the situation I found myself in. I found a moneygram place not far from here on the calle de alacala which gave about 13% more, and they're open well after banking hours. The best rates I got were at the banks, from 15% to 20% more than the crappy deal I got here at exact change. Just remember that most banks close before three and plan around that--that's your best bet. The only time I came here I was in desperate need for some euros; it was late and no other place was open. These are the only circumstances under which I could recommend using this place; now if you've found yourself in this situation, what can I tell yous? EXCHANGE AS LITTLE MONEY AS NECESSARY. Dear fellow travellers, do not use Exact Change, they will charge up to 40% commissions, and they will not allow you to cancel the transaction. There is no screen on the cashier/till showing you the amount you will get, and when you want to cancel the transaction - and you will - they will claim that you have renouncer your mandatory consumer rights. Choose any bank over Exact Change if you care about your hard earned money and not being a fool. read more
