My review is for Maria. I booked a partial highlight through the yelp online booking tool for $95. When I got to the salon Maria was very friendly and saw me only a little later than the appointment time. During the middle of our session, she noticed that my hair wasn't lightening as much as she thought it would. She tried to add more color to lighten it up, but it still came out darker than expected. She then charged me $150 (the normal price for the highlight and lowlight) although my appointment was only for the $95 highlight. Instead of trying to make it right she charged me more and didn't offer to fix it. She also didn't get down to the roots - a huge pet peeve of mine. Overall I was really disappointed with the quality of the service here, and felt like Maria took advantage of me and my lack of hair knowledge. read more

After my hair grew long and unruly during this COVID-19 pandemic, I received a men's haircut from Caitlin who did an absolutely amazing job. The salon takes every precaution to make sure that you, as a customer, are safe! Everyone wears masks, and there are, at most, three stylists in the salon at a time, each with their own room. I will say that my hair is extremely thick and frustratingly stubborn compared to most guys, but Caitlin was able to tame it really well! She pays close attention to detail and makes sure that I am satisfied every step of the way. She also recommended a few products to try out at home to address my hard hair problem. In the end, I received a nice slick fade with some length in the front to style however I choose depending on the day. I scheduled a consultation because I just wasn't happy with the color job I got with a previous stylist and saw the owner Katlyn L had done a color that was exactly what I was looking for! I had asked for a dark brown color but got blonde instead so she was in for a big correction! Katlyn was so confident in our consultation and had an appointment open for me less than a week from my consultation which was so great. I was a little nervous at first but holy crap, she nailed it! This was my first visit at Evolve Salon and I can confidently say that I've found my new go to hair salon as well as my new go to gal: AURIYANA. I got my hair done before quarantine (back in February) and was not 100% satisfied with my experience. And since it had been a while, my hair was super brassy and had that black hole look lol! Fast forward to now, I saw a friend of mine get her hair done and she had tagged Auriyana's hair page on Instagram. I went on it and omggg, I fell in love. Her work is SO good, and that's just from looking at the pictures alone. So of course at this point, I HAD to book with her. I made an appointment for a balayage on a Monday afternoon. Prior to my appointment, Auriyana had contacted me via text and asked for inspo pics/a current pic of what my hair looked like. On the day of my appointment, Auriyana had texted me earlier in the day asking if we could push my appointment back an hour since she was running a bit behind with her client before me. I didn't mind at all since I had nothing to do that day. The salon was easy to find and there was plenty of parking in the back parking lot. The salon is also super clean! Everyone wore masks, I saw hand sanitizers on the table, and the hairstylists cleaned their work area between clients. My appointment ended up lasting about 5 hours (I have a lot of hair lol!) but it honestly went by so fast because Auriyana is so relatable and easy to talk to. She's so kind! She also made her to ask me if I still wanted to go with my inspo look (which I appreciate bc im so indecisive sometimes!) as well as ask if i had any questions for her before she started on my hair. I remember when I moved from Seattle to Cali, finally ready to move from the rain into what I thought would be eternal sunshine with hair to match, when I heard what no one EVER want to hear from their hairstylist: "You know, a lot of my clients fly back to Seattle, because they just can't get that California blonde in California." Say what?! Here is the sad truth: she was not wrong. I have had so many hair blahs the whole time that I have lived here, and it has almost gotten me to give up on my hair. I am not even going to get into the rudeness of so-called "master stylists" who would start me off with what they could NOT do with my hair, or the number of times I was bent over the bathroom sink trying to purple shampoo the traffic cone color out of my hair. AND I AM A NATURAL BLONDE. Enter Sienna. Through my sister's work recommendation, I decided to give this young stylist a try, expecting (hoping!) for at least tolerable hair, the kind that won't make me weep when I see myself in the mirror. How to sum up my experience? In two words: Sienna OVERDELIVERS. She listened to me, I felt like we even collaborated on what we would like the results to be. And THEN I showed her a photo of what I was thinking. She said "I got it, let's do this." And then she proceeded to literally gave me the best color of my life. Golden, buttery, bright, GORGEOUS color. As in, my love gasped when he saw me and had to squint from my glow. Psht. There is no go-go-go in this salon, where they slap on highlights that you probably won't want and then hand you off to the next person to rinse, etc. Nope. You get personalized care, in a small, super cute salon, with easy parking. And in Sienna, you get not only a top notch professional, but someone who is careful with her own health and won't unnecessarily risk mine (in these times, that's something that adds another 100 points to her already stacked report card). I actually ended up giving Sienna instructions on how to do my sister's hair, and now she's constantly showing hers off to me! LOVE! Some advice: educate yourself and set realistic expectations on what can be done in in one session. You do need to know some stylist-speak to get the best results. And THEN show a photo to summarize, and not the other way around. Thank you Sienna for bring back some sunshine to my hair and converting me into a Cali blonde! You are the best!!! read more

I first saw Melonie's microblading/microshading work on my coworker and immediately had to contact her! I have always seeked the perfect arched brow and no artist was ever able to nail it. I've tried threading, wax, tweezing services but still never walked out truly satisfied. This is my first time getting my brows microbladed/shaded and I am so glad I let Melonie do them. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she blew me away with how she got it done! She's a perfectionist! I appreciated that she kept checking in with me every step of the way, making sure there was nothing out of place. I was glad she welcomed me to tell her if I saw anything that looked weird to me so she could fix it. She was not satisfied until I was! When I went into work the next day, EVERYONE was asking me where I got my brows done. They said they looked "perfect!" I have never gotten so many compliments and I have Melonie to thank for that!!! I can't wait for my touch up with her in the next few weeks once my brows have faded to their true color. Other Details: 2-2.5 hour long procedure (includes numbing process, design/mapping, and microblading/shading). Get your brows wax/tweezed/shaped by an eyebrow professional beforehand and let them know you are getting your brows microbladed! Melonie only does the microblading/tattoo. Melonie was helpful explaining the entire process and advised me of the aftercare regimen. But, I'd still recommend doing your research on your own so you know how to take care of your brows and if any changes to your skincare products are needed pre and post procedure. Just contact her! I found Evolve Salon on Instagram and I am so glad I did!! They were so easy to schedule an appointment with. Simply sent a text and I was able to schedule right away. Clip-ins are great..until you see the damage that wearing them everyday can take on your hair + the fact you have to remove them and put in them in everyday. After hours of researching and consultations at various salons (Ehem, $1,000 for tape-ins, no thanks!), I stumbled upon Melonie. Upon looking at her reviews and prices on her website I was sold!! I mean a stylist who can do almost any type of hair extension technique including braid less sew-ins, amazing! Upon my visit to the salon, we went right down the block to purchase the hair for the extensions. Unfortunately, the hair shop was closed but after a few quick calls, the owner actually drove to Los Gatos to open it back up for Melonie! Talk about customer loyalty!
