Way overdo for a review. I personally dread styling my own hair and lack both the skills and the patience to do it myself so when I found a place that will wash, blow dry and style it I made my first appointment and have been coming here for over a year. About halfway through I realized I've been coming often enough that the monthly membership would make sense for me. Slightly discounted from the regular price. I've had multiple stylist and all good experiences but some I liked more than others- Phoebe, Gabby, Scar, and Iannkel are my favorites. I show them inspo pics of what I want and they work their magic. I love the products they use in my hair - it always smells so good when I'm done. It's that dry bar signature scent. I will say I've been to other dry bars like in Palo Alto and SoCal that didn't do a great job but I've had great experiences at the LG location. Just find a stylist or two you really like and stick with them. read more

I was very excited to come here and get my first blowout for a wedding I was going to. I asked my lady if she could give me big bouncy curls, watched videos of what to ask for, even paid the 15$ extra for the pins so I could make sure they would stay nice and upright for the wedding time. Total cost was around 90$ and I was in the chair for much longer than I was originally told but that was fine. Really upsetting I left with the pins in/left them in for 4 hours which the ladies told me was okay to do. Got the my destination and took out the pins. My hair was flat and frizzy. Really upsetting to pay the extra and not even have a bounce to my hair. I could've just straightened my hair at home if I wanted that. Now it's been 3 weeks to which I called and was told I'd get a call back in 5 mins or so when the manger was in. (I didn't) so I called back the next day and was told I had to wait for a manger to call me back, I've never received a phone call. What's really annoying is both times I called the receptionist thought she put me on hold and didn't so I sat at the phone and I listened to her talk to whoever she was about my situation both annoyed with me I guess? But talking negative about a customer in front of me was crazy. I've never asked for a refund for service but being $90 and my hair was completely straight and I have pictures with time stamps because I was so excited for the appointment and I was keeping everyone I knew up-to-date on the progress and the way I was treated and ignored left me super bummed. Loved my uptini service with Amber! I was in town for a wedding and booked an updo. As a new DryBar customer, I had no inspiration photos but Amber quickly helped me figure out a style to match my glam look. She styled my hair so beautifully in an hour. I truly believed I didn't have enough hair for an updo as I was previously told by another stylist that I would need extensions so I was open to other hair styles/services. However Amber made my wishes come true!!! My hair looked so voluminous and curly. I had a great experience at drybar. I came on a Friday afternoon and was more than happy with how my hair came out. The hair cleaning felt great and left my hair light and clean. My stylist was kind and worked with my needs. I have pretty straight hair and I got the cosmo for some curls. After styling and product, I left with tighter curls so that they could fall throughout the day with my straight hair (aka no loosening). This was perfect and my curls ended up lasting throughout the night, dancing and all! I would definitely come back next time I have an event! Worst blowout I've ever received To start, it took 90 minutes total, which was much longer than anticipated. I came in a group (and reserved it as such) but we were all seated across the room from each other. When washing my hair, the water was freezing and my hair somehow got caught in the drain (never had that happen before) so my hair was pulled at for 10-ish minutes. Asked for the cosmo-tai style and I really dont know what to call what I received. Half of my bangs are straight and the other half curly? None of it is blown out, just curled, which I could have done at home. My family literally said it looks like I have hat head . I had been inspired by a friend who got a blowout done in LA to try doing one for myself for the experience. For a weekend where I was spending it outside, I booked my appointment online and noted that it was my first time in the comments! My experience from coming in, to the blowout itself, to checking out was very smooth and the staff were very helpful. I came on a Friday around 6 PM and my hairstylist Emily was so sweet. She walked me through the process of choosing a style that I wanted. After I made my decision, she washed my hair thoroughly and then continued on to the blowout! I'm a big fan. We chatted for a bit about work and how some regulars come on a weekly basis to do blowouts at Drybar. I typically don't give my own hair styling that much thought, but I can see how looking good helps people feel good about themselves. The curls held very well, I preferred the loose look that they retained around the second or third day after the blowout. I washed my hair at home with clarifying detox shampoo to get rid of the product on the fourth day. I have Asian hair that gets oily really quickly, so other hair types may be able to withstand the test of time better than mine. read more

I'm really disappointed with this location. I had booked two 4:30pm appointments to take my elderly mother-in-law to Drybar for her birthday. Unfortunately, we got stuck in traffic, so I called ahead to see if we could push the appointment back by about 15 minutes. The person I spoke to on the phone was rude and immediately shut it down, repeatedly citing their 15-minute grace period. I explained the situation and still tried my best to make it there within that window. We arrived at 4:44 into the parking lot and ran into the building at 4:46pm, I was parking and helping my elderly mother-in-law out of the car--I wasn't going to rush off and leave her behind just to check in a minute earlier. When we got to the front desk, they refused to accommodate us. The receptionist said she would "go ask the manager," but the time spent doing that could've been used to actually start our services. There was zero flexibility, zero empathy, and no effort to make a birthday visit feel special. We ended up leaving without getting our hair done. For a service-based business, especially one centered around pampering and customer experience, this was incredibly disappointing. read more

I absolutely love visiting Drybar in Los Gatos! I used to have the Single Barfly membership, but I switched to the Double because I go twice a month, and it saves me money while offering extra perks. For example, last week, I got a scalp massage included with my wash. During their 2-year anniversary celebration, they handed out adorable goodie bags with dry shampoo inside, which worked so well (I wish they sold larger cans!). The staff is always welcoming--from the friendly greeting when I arrive to the consistent pleasantries at checkout. I've never had a stylist I didn't like; they always listen to what I want, and I get to relax and enjoy whatever movie is playing (such a fun perk). I also appreciate their 7 a.m. opening time, which makes it easy to schedule an early appointment. This place gets busy quick! We had a scheduled appointment and ended up waiting 15-20 minutes, regardless. Thankfully timing ended up working out, so we weren't late for our family photo shoot. The stylist was super friendly and kind --- I forgot her name - argh, but she had only been working there for a couple of months and is from Mendocino. She was great with me and my daughter! Made sure we were happy with our styles and made friendly conversation. I've had another stylist before that wasn't my favorite, so glad that this stylist worked out! Love the vibe of this place - balloons in the corner and Never Been Kissed playing on the screen. Prices are reasonable compared to other places and I like that they have dry styling, so you don't have to do the whole hair washing ordeal if you don't have the time. FOR THE CURLY GIRLS - I am writing this review solely in praise of Ashish. Hands down THE BEST stylist at this Dry Bar location. I've had experiences with 3-4 other stylists here and the experience doesn't compare to that of Ashish. I have very curly afro-textured hair. I have always been extremely cautious and concerned with whom does my hair. Ashish not only knows how to do my hair, but he's an amazing and kino human being as well. I will only ever have him touch my hair. He is able to give me a silk press quality blowout in 1 hour. From the wash bowl to finish, it's literally barely over an hour. I've been getting my hair done with him over a year now and my curl pattern is just as perfect as the day I first visited. He doesn't use excessive heat or do too many passes with the flat iron so I never have any damage. He's very knowledgeable and gives great advice. He always remembers what we speak about so each appointment feels like a relaxing visit with a friend. I planned to leave and do my hair myself. Instead Gabi, the manager, stepped up. She may be the manager but she knows her craft - hair ! It's been a while (decade?) since I last had my hair done at DryBar and glad I came back. Service is friendly and timely. I was able to change my appointment from 11 to 1pm as cancellations came in. It was crowded when I arrived, but everything looked to move fluidly. Jaqueline was my stylist and she is knowledgeable, patient and friendly. She did a great scalp massage and was quick and efficient on the blow dry and style. She takes her time and used two different barrels (I did the combo mai tai and cosmo) and checked in on hair products, which I appreciated. I'm so happy with the outcome. I had a special event coming up and wanted hollywood style curls. I made my first appointment as a trial to see if the style could be achieved. Once I got shampooed and conditioned I slowly started to realize stylist1 was unsure of how to achieve the look. Instead she gave me regular loose curls and asked another stylist2 for help with the rest. She then advised me to request stylist2 for the day of my event. Side note, my hair was completely flat by the end of the day and nothing held up. Upon checking out I made my next appointment with stylist2. On the day of the event I arrived and asked to confirm that I was paired with stylist2. The girl at the front desk, who was the same girl that made the appointment weeks prior, told me that I didn't request anyone... Then I reminded her and I was told that stylist2 went home for the day. Luckily I got paired with another stylist, Paulette, who was able to achieve the style I wanted as well as pin up my hair to preserve it. My hair looked great throughout the night. Overall mixed feelings about this place. They're booking system is unorganized and the girl at the front seems to regularly make mistakes, with my booking, as well as not correctly charging me and asking me to come back in. They also do not send out any sort of text or email reminder for your booking. For my trial I heard stylists bad mouthing the client they were just helping to their new clients. There's a sense of mean girl energy in here with nobody to greet you upon entering or acknowledging you standing there. On the other hand it is affordable compared to other styling places and they have good products. read more

I had a fantastic person blowout my hair and give me exactly what I wanted. She is great. Saw her several times. We kind of started chatting a bit too much though-- I mean I enjoyed it :) Then the last time I went, I had another stylist who did not give me my desired look at all. When he showed me the results, I told him it was not what I wanted, and he spent a few more minutes trying to get it to look closer but he failed. For an example, I wanted one of the styles that has waves and modern straight ends and I wanted the waves to be dramatic. But he gave me curly ends and very flat mild waves. Why this complete disregard for my desire? Before my appointment, I had explained what I wanted to the front desk admin so she could help me explain it to the stylist since I don't know the jargon. After my appointment I showed her my hair and asked, does it look like what I wanted? Her face had the answer but she didn't admit that it was a complete flop. I guess she assumed I was happy and didn't want to rain on my parade. I didn't have time to complain and see if someone else could fix my hair. I also ordered an add-on that was supposed to make my hair smooth and shiny, but my hair turned out much drier and frizzier than it is even when I do my own hair. read more

Trusted DryBar twice for wedding occasions in the last month and both times I was disappointed. The first time I had an updo which came out great but was falling out by mid day. I had to take it completely apart because it wouldn't hold. The second occasion, I came as a bridesmaid party and realized multiple stylists are not experienced creating the styles in their style book. Two told us they didn't know how to do what we were asking for, yet proceeded to "try their best". When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the stylist told my friend it was because she "didn't have a lot of hair". The same stylist washing my hair also burned me and I had to tell him it hurt when he was tugging my hair. Overall, we were very unsatisfied. Trianna was the only person who had the experience to create what I was looking for and was very professional. She took over my styling after another stylist said they didn't know how to create my style. She's the only reason I'm giving DryBar any stars. read more

I would like to retract my previous review. After my initial experience, which was disappointing, I was contacted by Gabi, the manager. I explained to her that I was not looking for a free blowout or any type of compensation. What I really wanted was simply to be heard and to feel comfortable returning as a customer. I believe people and businesses deserve second chances. Because I had never had a negative experience at Drybar before, I decided to give them another try. I'm very glad I did. My most recent visit was completely different. The hairstylist I had took her time, was very knowledgeable, and talked me through the best options for my hair texture and the extensions I have. She handled my hair with care and made sure I was comfortable throughout the appointment. I left extremely happy with the results. My hair held beautifully and the overall experience reminded me why I have enjoyed coming to Drybar in the past. Loved my experience at this new beautiful LG location. I felt warmly welcomed and taken care of from the moment I walked in, which is important to me for a midday pampering appointment. :) The space was so clean and decorated in such a fun way with the signature yellow Drybar decor. All of the stylists were right on time and very friendly to the clients coming in. My stylist was super nice and explained all of the offerings and products that could help my specific kind of hair along the way. It was very relaxing to have my hair washed and dried. She made sure to check the temperature of the water and that I was comfortable throughout the appointment. I loved the end result and that my stylist said it should last up to 5 days ! :) I am really glad this location has opened.
