I started training with Coach Phil in February and almost immediately felt stronger, more…read moreconfident, and energized. Phil is extremely passionate about what he does, and it shows in everything he does at the gym. He works with people of all skill levels to help them achieve their fitness goals! He clearly takes a lot of pride in his business, and it shows in the way he keeps the gym in impeccable condition. Everyone who trains there is expected to put things back where they belong, and as a result, the gym is always spotless. This creates a really positive environment that makes it a pleasure to work out there. Phil knows the name of everyone who trains at his gym. Not only does he greet each person by name when they arrive, but he also takes the time to introduce everyone to each other. This creates a sense of community and camaraderie that is all too rare in today's world. Overall, I can't recommend Phil and his gym highly enough. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out on your fitness journey, he will help you achieve your goals in a welcoming and supportive environment. If you're looking for a personal trainer who truly cares about his clients and takes pride in his work, look no further than Phil and New Dorp Fitness.

Love this gym! Came here 2 years ago for a 30 day trial with my wife and have been here since…read more This cozy place has everything you need: dumbbells up to 100lbs, barbells, cable set ups, medicine balls, kettlebells, plate loaded machines, and stack based machines. There is ample cardio equipment as well such as ellipticals, stair climbers, hand bikes, cycling machines, etc. The owner Phil is very knowledgeable and treats you like family. His knowledge of excercise science is second to none. He runs a tight ship and any trouble makers will not be allowed to return. The complete lack of riff raff and friendly members make this an ideal gym for the professional. There is never a wait for a machine or bench. Staff is friendly and professional. Has a parking lot which is nice. I can't recommend this place enough.

What an AWFUL experience…read more... Was excited to get back into yoga and was looking forward to sharing this experience with a friend. The good- people taking the class all seem very nice. The instructor knowledgeable in palates. The bad - studio smell like sweat that has not been cleaned up in ... ever. - the studio owner is unprofessional and rude and there is nothing "namaste" about her demeanor. - the instructor seems threatened and terrified of her boss (the owner) to the point of creating a false narrative Will not be returning. If you are okay with disrespectful behavior and just taking class by disconnecting with the rest of the world- this is a place for you. Disclaimer - I am a health professional with 30+ years of dance teaching experience. When your hot yoga studio forbids you from leaving the room during class, even if you felt unwell, it raises concerns about safety. To add insult to injury when the studio owner proceeds to yell at you, questions you says that by leaving the class was disrupted, and insults - that's speaks volumes about the culture of the practice. If I didn't leave, the class would have been even more disrupted with the instructor unable to teach at all because they would need to take care of the student instead of teaching, Furthermore, when the owner accuses the client that because of the client the owner could not complete their scheduled personal important appointment- that demonstrates concern for the owner's mental state. There are safety risks involved with hot yoga and it is the responsibility of the instructor and the student to ensure safety. Listening to your body is paramount: Regardless of studio policy, your well-being should be the priority. If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, or experience any other signs of heat intolerance or illness during a hot yoga class, it's essential to take a break or leave the room. Same with dance -pushing through injury is highly discouraged as it may cause further injury. People are paying for the class, this is not a prison. No one comes to class looking to disobey.

Its truly a hot room, a great selection of classes ,flexable times and unbelievable instructors!.read more
