Sometimes they are in office but they are not there. At least that's what happened after I called a few times, and the receptionist would respond, "He's not here at the moment". I am charged beyond my personal training contract without going through my permission to renew. They charged me twice within the same month. After reaching out multiple times and sat with a manager at their office, no resolution. I have to go through my credit card to get the money back. Look, if it were a better experience, I wouldn't have complained. It's so discouraging and annoying. PS: I have been to other locations in the city and it is a completely different experience. I am just so disappointed.

They are always nice at the desk welcoming you with a hello and saying goodbye when leaving. The cleaning crew are always cleaning and the place is spotless. You always have cleaning wipes to clean down machines. There is rarely dust anywhere and the bathrooms are always clean. There is a large parking lot but it does get filled up quickly so give yourself ample time to look for a spot. There is brand new equipment as of the beginning of 2025 so you are basically working on everything New. The price of this gym is expensive. if you just use the gym area you are paying for the whole gym. Pool, and other amenities and such. This is though I think the best gym so far I would say on the island for the money. Nice people working here , nice clientele, clean atmosphere. It does get crowded at times but tell me what gym doesn't.

Even a YMCA staff escorted those maintenance workers into the women's locker room and shower room the Y staffs would not make sure everyone aware of it. I personally don't feel secure in this environment. I understand things broken and need repairing. It's impossible to closed down the entire locker room for just maintenance purposes. But the management should do a better job on this. I don't blame those maintenance workers. It is 100% responsibility of the YMCA management to pretect their members. They should have trained their staffs better to make sure everyone aware of the situation. No one wants to experience surprises like this. ***Updates: Thanks for writing back. Once I walked out of the shower room I heard some men talking in the sauna room. I quickly ran back in the shower room and told the cleaning lady what happened. Then she talked to the YMCA female staff who accompanied the maintenance workers. She then walked them outside and asked me to finish changing in one of the stalls in the locker area so the workers can continue the repairing. I was not notified by any staffs about the situation when I was in the shower. The second incident just happened couple weeks ago 9/26. When I entered the shower room from the pool I saw a YMCA female staff standing in the hallway and sipping ice coffee. I saw one of the shower stalls occupied at that time. As soon as I entered one of the shower stalls I heard a man voice. He was supposed to check which showers were broken. I was not being notified when I walked in the shower room even the staff saw me.

I've been going to this gym now for about 2 years. They offer great high intensity weight training…read more& cardio classes! (also have yoga, boxing, & spin classes I've yet to try). The staff care more about getting you to workout than enforcing strict cancellation/sign up policies, or squeezing you for pennies (the only strict sign up/cancellation I've heard about is for spin classes). You won't get unbearable unlimited texts & calls from them or hard sales pitches like the new workout chain that recently opened in Bay Ridge, good god! You can pay-per-class, and at $25 it's a pretty good deal! But I have an unlimited membership. Here are my suggestions: - Beginners: take Anthony or Daniel. Super helpful & approachable. If you're feeling intimidated, do Saturday @ 10:30am with Daniel. The time & day make it a smaller class. Or Anthony Tuesday @4pm. - Toning w a cardio focus: Total Body class with Anthony, Aiden, or Daniel. (Bernie will fill in, & she's also great). - Muscle building focus: Bernie has THE BEST straight forward weight lifting classes. Especially Arms. She doesn't add tons of cardio. - Booty toning: Aiden's class is legit cheeks on fire. - Weight loss / cardio / fat burn: Jose's classes. He's a really great motivator. His style is much more boot camp drill sergeant. He's doing it so you don't quit! If I could add anything: I'd love an exclusive Ab Only class! Slow, focused ab/deep core the entire time. ESPECIALLY upstairs with the gym equipment (cable machine, captains chair, roman chair, pull up, etc) used for each station, with the remaining people doing ab floor work as we rotate. No cardio. I just want to murder my abs! They also plan special events. They recently held a unique class with a drummer playing live hip hop / dance music with the lights low. I really loved that class! Push past any intimidation or fear & you'll do great. We're all just getting in a good workout. You've got this!

I have always shyed away from any gym or fitness environment due to bullying, rude service, and personal insecurities (still do but in a different head space now). I walked in their door and never looked back. I was paired with Maria, and it was the best thing to happen for me. Her knowledge her care she gets me. She pushes me further than I think I can go, and then pushes me further than that! At transformation fitness there is not one trainer who does not make their client feel worthy, motivated, inspired. I have my share of injuries/pain and with the dedication, care, and instructions from Steve I am able to still continue with my trainings through modifications and mobility work. The latest addition to an already fantastic studio are their Cardio Boxing classes .. holy full body work out. The biggest joy is how empowered I feel after, and how these classes are helping me feel more confident within myself and it's ALL BECAUSE OF THEM !!! I didn't think virtual would be for me but since working out with Joe (I am in California) I have dropped 16 pounds and feel better and stronger than I have EVER. He is constantly pushing me to raise the bar and I've never sweated so much in my life! When I think I can't, Joe reminds me that I can!
