I have been studying martial arts for over fifty years and know a good instructor when I see one…read more Master Gang is among the very best I have known. It was always my plan to study tai chi when I became too old to effectively practice karate or aikido. When that day arrived, I began to visit and practice at various tai chi studios. Sadly, there are too many poorly trained instructors teaching tai chi and a few who have little patience or ability to teach the art to older persons. Happily, I found Master Gang and plan to remain his student indefinitely. He is classically trained with a deep understanding of the art of tai chi. His teaching method is detailed and precise but he is most accommodating to the physical challenges older students can pose. Indeed, he takes particular delight in helping a student deal with an infirmity. This is a rare quality found in only the best teachers. Even with my decades of studying martial arts, he frequently blows my mind with something new I had never even considered. I am learning so much from him! I try not to be one of those students who is always challenging the reason why something is done a certain way as opposed to what I was taught in another art. But when I do ask a question, he always is pleased to explain the purpose of a movement. His positive mindset is infectious. You can't go wrong choosing Master Gang as your instructor.
