I did quite a bit of research on which tattoo studio to go to in Hendersonville to get my first tattoo done. As it was going to be my first tattoo, I was quite a bit nervous about it, and wanted to go to one of the best. Evolutionary Studios had some pretty great reviews, and after looking at some of their artwork, I decided to choose them! I reached out to Kevin, who at that time was the only tatoo artist there, and sent him some pictures and gave him my vision of what I wanted. He told me he would love to work on my design, and told me I could come in on the day I requested. About two weeks before my scheduled appointment for the tattoo, I came by to check out the studio just because I hadn't been there before. The studio is in a little strip mall off of Main St. It's very clean, and felt almost doctor's office-ish, which I liked! Kevin wasn't there at a time but his apprentice Doug(who is now actually an artist there!) was. He was super friendly, offered me something to drink when i first came in. He let me check out the studio, see where I'd be getting the tattoo done ,and answered all my questions! I follow his work too and he's been doing pretty great!! So the day of my appointment, I came in and had to fill out some paperwork. Then I met with Kevin and he showed me the design and asked me if there's anything I wanted to change. It was just what I wanted, so we went ahead and started. He talked to me, and played some music while doing it. I felt very comfortable during the process, though yes, it did hurt for me! The tattoo came out beautifully. I couldn't have been happier with it! I stopped by a couple times after to make sure the tattoo was healing properly. They also offer a free retouch within 90 days, which I took advantage of! I would highly recommend Evolutionary Studios for your next tatto/piercing. They do excellent work, and really do take care of their customers! read more

Meg was the BEST. she was so kind, considerate, caring, and extremely open to all little changes I wanted made. She knew exactly what I wanted and made my vision come to list. Critical: Professionalism I came into Evolutionary Studios to get my nose pierced after a few friends had recommended them to me. While filling my paperwork out, I asked the woman at the desk, I believe her name was Kayla, if I needed a mask on since the paperwork asked that I needed to sign my initials agreeing to wear a mask. She told me how I didn't need to, and went on to say how she wasn't wearing a mask that day because she was "over it" and because her boss wasn't there so she wasn't going to wear the mask. Okay, unprofessional, but whatever. Moving on. Usually a simple piercing like this takes two minutes. Needle in, piercing in, and done; get some cleaning solution and you're out of there! This was not the case for me. Doug, who was doing my piercing, pierced my nose three times after he failed to get the jewelry in place. I remembered looking up to ask what was going on, only to see blood dripping onto my chest. He yelled for someone to get absorbent pads to clean it up, and then told me to wait a month for it to heal before I came back. When I left he gave me a business card with "free piercing" written on the back so that I could come back for his services, but unfortunately, because of how terrible this experience was, Evolutionary Studios will not be getting any more of my business. A piercing that should've taken a quick two minutes left me in the chair for fifteen minutes, resulting in me leaving without the piercing I came for. He also didn't clean me up like I would've expected someone to after something like that, so I also ended up leaving with a bloody nose. If I could rate this experience lower than one star, I would. This was an absolutely terrible visit with Evolutionary Studios, and when my month of healing is over I will be taking my business to someone who does everything they can to make sure that their customer feels respected, safe, and gets the job done professionally. read more

Was able to schedule a same day appointment for my septum piercing. The piercer was highly amicable and professional and made my first piercing experience a good one! It is 6 days later and following the advice given to me, my septum is healing very well with no signs of infection. The piercer seemed to know what he was talking about and the jewelry used was a proper internally threaded curved barbell. I actually missed my first appointment time but the piercer was more than willing to schedule me for a later time a couple hours later. Would highly recommend! read more
