The studio is heated as soon as you walk in, so that's something to keep in mind, but it is heated to what I think is personally the perfect level. Just enough to get you sweating, but not profusely and not drenched and/or almost seeing spots like at other spots I've been to! The flow of the practice was delightful, not too easy but not too challenging either, it was the Goldilocks of classes for me! I haven't done hot yoga in a bit so this was the perfect way to get back into it for sure. I also really liked Natalie's option for a more hands-on approach, as I was getting some really deep stretches in with her help! I will be back, and I love that there's ample parking that's free, and right in front of the studio. A rarity for a spot in the heart of Phoenix (it's Midtown, but only a mile and half or so North of Downtown!).

She's also announced there are gonna be at least 5 or 6 more here in Phoenix. Cool! I finally today got to try out her class in her studio, and it was amazing (but also very hard). Kjoy is the real deal, a very solid yoga class and you will be crawling out of the class. She will work you but you will thank her after the class is over. A friend of mine also joined me today to experience this studio. BSY at this location just opened about a month ago and the studio is offering a free week, so please go try it out! BSY has locations throughout the country and its great we now have one here also. The studio is painted in black and it's a nice space with a beautiful mural. There are cubby holes to store your items . Blocks are provided and you can rent mats here. I also saw a fridge selling waters and other liquids. There is a bathroom, which you walk thru a gym to get to. Two things to note here. Parking lot is small, but I was able to get slammed spot. The only thing I wished for was that there were celing fans in the studio. Kjoy originally taught some guest classes at Madison Improvement Club awhile back and then I didn't see her for a couple of years. I then randomly at Vikara yoga events bumped into her and it was such a delight to see her again! She also gave me a bunch of free passes for classes, and she's a lovely, bubbly person! I'll definitely be back to her studio and right now, if u join as a founding member, the annual fee is $480! That's a pretty sweet deal for a solid yoga studio! I'll definitely be a regular here and go check out Kjoy's classes, you will work really hard and your heart and mind will thank you for it!

The setting is basic and there are plans for enlargement but this is a growing Buddhist temple, and the monks are friendly and relaxing to be around. Leave your stress and shows outside.

I just started attending the Arizona International Buddhist Meditation Center after a friend…read morerecommended I come with him. Meetings are Wednesday nights at 7pm on Temple Street (the center may be difficult to find as it is located in a residential house). There is parking available in front the house as well as a church parking lot across the street. Cushions are provided for your comfort and the meditation session lasts about 45 minutes. Shane will ring a bell and talk you through the first 5 to 10 minutes. Afterwards, silence commences and you try not to think of anything at all. Once the meditation session ends, Shane leads a short discussion session to allow for questions and for the resident monk to read a prayer aloud. I feel relaxed and at peace when I come here. Everyone is kind and welcoming, no judgement! If you are looking for a group environment and friendly community to meditate with, this is the perfect spot in Arizona!
