I had previously seen Dr. Julie Kerr, and she had recommended a procedure on my sinuses, but it could not be performed because I was taking blood thinners. After I was no longer taking blood thinners, I returned because the symptoms that had previously led her to recommend a procedure had not changed. Dr. Julie Kerr looked briefly in my nose for only a couple of seconds and told me everything was fine. When I told her I was still having the same problem, she said she would review my previous CT scans. I later received a message stating that everything was normal and that I no longer had the problem, despite the fact that my symptoms continued. I left believing the evaluation was driven more by risk avoidance than by an effort to understand my individual situation.

Dr Kerr is amazing…read more The ENT in Charlottesville (where I lived at the time) told me there was nothing wrong with my newborn, the pain I had when to breastfeeding was normal, and that I basically needed to toughen up. I was devastated and exhausted and ready to give up. Fortunately for me my midwife is a rockstar and found Dr Kerr in Richmond for me. Dr Kerr squeezed us into her schedule that afternoon, recognized my daughters tongue tie immediately and corrected it on the spot. Additionally she was kind and gentle, everything the Cville Dr was not. After the procedure I was able to breastfeed my baby easily and without pain, we were able to nurse for 2 years! I've been messaged a few times now about this experience, I really can't recommend Dr Kerr highly enough. She and my midwife saved my ability to breastfeed my daughter- it's one of the greatest gifts I've ever received.
