The culture of bullying that emerged led to dangerous consequences. Even when management was alerted to bullying by several parents, the perpetrators were allowed to continue in the program. Beware: some children are still recovering from the psychological abuse.

She is not a believer that hard work can pay off, so she forms a very quick opinion about your child that will never change regardless of how much they improve. The studio is a fortune with little to show for it. You pay all of your classes twice a year but there is pretty much an expense every month. They up charge for costumes - they were 85 dollars a piece. I found that my girls were always told what they couldn't do versus teaching them how to do it. One of my daughters, who was told she was a "bad" dancer, is now on BCC Poms. If I truly had a really talented child, I would not choose C-Unit. They do not have a long track record of getting their dancers onto Broadway, etc. There are other studios in the area that do.

The first lesson we scheduled, I was so nervous that I actually walked out before it began. But still they spent ten minutes trying to make me as at ease as possible and demonstrated the kind of dancing I'd be learning. When I made the decision to come back and try again, they were all so excited and just as welcoming as at that first lesson. The experience from there was so comfortable and fun, which I never expected. Our instructor Amelia was just the sweetest person and also so patient and understanding, plus great at giving instruction and helping when we got lost in the steps or couldn't get something right away. I was drawn here after taking a class from Mourien sponsored by the apartment complex I am living in. Mourien is super energetic and her enthusiasm is contagious. Her steps are unique compared to other classes I have been to. They are fun and easy to follow. Her studio is conveniently across the street from the apartment and right next to the very tempting brusters icecream parlor. It is a large dance space with a child care room and changing rooms. The space was essentially packed with devoted Zumba enthusiasts for the Saturday morning class with Mourien. Again, her dance moves were fun and I barely noticed that I was drenched until after the class. Classes can be purchased per class, packages (6, 12, 18), or unlimited monthly. Try the drop in class for $7 with Mourien and I bet you will be hooked.
