Intensity Dancers' Studio - Recital ready!

Dance studios take a huge commitment in time and effort from parents and kids. We'd been to a few…read moreschools in the area and some outside the area, but we like Intensity because they have a good balance between taking themselves seriously and letting my daughter have fun. She likes going, she makes friends there and there are plenty of different levels of commitment for everyone. If you want to do competition, they have that, if you want to just go and take classes, they have that as well. My mother came down for the recital last year and really enjoyed it as well, you get to see all ages of girls and really watch them get better as they get older, some of the oldest girls were really amazing. Definitely recommend this place if you want to teach your kid commitment and discipline while they make friends and have fun.

I even said I wanted to just sign her up for Hip Hop and the very nice blonde lady insisted I try Ballet since it was complimentary and my daughter may end up liking it. Came by today with a very excited 4 year old ready to try beginners ballet. At the door, I was told I had to wait until after Labor Day because classes were changing. I asked if they had an update schedule which they didn't but they took my information to send once available. I left with a very upset and sad 4 year old. WHY would they offer a complimentary trial class and tell you to literally "just show up" to then be sent way? Very unprofessional. I was looking forward in enrolling my daughter 2 times a week. Now I'm back to square one looking for a new school. I am still in disbelief that they would turn away a four-year-old that they would turn away a four-year-old just because they only had 2 weeks left this month. You just lost a new customer.

Studio provides an area for students to complete homework during their break, has a cafe for students to get a bite to eat and not have to leave studio. My daughter loves it here it's our 2nd home. It's a great family atmosphere! Best of all the schedule is great, my daughter dances Mon - Thurs with enough time to enjoy her weekend and be a kid. This studio has great teachers that serve as role models. They are involved in the community and giving back. During hurricane Irma studio did collection for displaced residents. Every year the studio can be found volunteering for the Breanna Vergara Foundation 5k. I highly recommend this studio to anyone who has a child who is interested in dancing.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience for the sake of other parents…read more This studio deeply disappointing. It is poorly run, lacks organization, and operates far below the standard families should expect. There are several other reviews describing similar behavior, which unfortunately confirms this is not an isolated incident. What was most concerning was my direct interaction with ownership. A simple, respectful question was met with a surprisingly aggressive and condescending response. The conversation began calmly, yet quickly escalated into a verbal reprimand directed at me in the lobby, in front of other parents. It was inappropriate, unprofessional, and frankly embarrassing behavior for anyone representing a children's business. Equally troubling is the lack of basic safety structure. There is no clear system in place to ensure children are properly supervised or accounted for, which should be non-negotiable. There are far more reputable options in Miami. I would strongly encourage parents to think carefully before enrolling here.

This theater has moved closer to Shula's hotel since last visit. I was really taken by Roderick…read moreRandle the Box Office Manager. He saw some of my Seminole gear so struck up a conversation. The play "Black Sheep" tells of a youth who was "tried as an adult" and served ten years in prison. Several characters agree Carl should not have been "tried as an adult." With prison behind him Carl is moving into his wealthy uncle and aunt's Guest House on their property. It's a tale of racism and touches, in a monologue, on elements of the Holocaust, too. This is theater of the absurd conjuring up a Jean Paul-Sartre play. Wooden barrels full of African art sculptures arrive one by one at the property because his uncle wants Carl, who is black, to feel at home. The play is also a study of the wealthy and how they are even said to "walk differently" for they have no worries. Also at the property is Carl's cousin Max who likes going into the guest house to "be alone." The uncle's wife seems to have a romantic interest in Carl as does Max's fiancé so Carl is rather popular with the ladies. The uncle is concerned that "people" are disappearing yet his uncle and aunt try to separately enlist Carl's help making people "disappear." There is a lot of talk of family and this riveting play will have one wondering just what sort of family this is. If you are into law, know this play touches upon Criminal Law and Wills & Trusts. Throughout it people appear and disappear in the barrel(s) from Africa. Due to sexual content I'd categorize this play as an explicit "R." That is I wouldn't bring Grandma (Abuela) to see. Contact Roderick Randle, Box Office Manager, for Group sales tickets if you want. Tiny theater is located directly on Main Street, Miami Lakes.

They offer some small snacks and wine for purchase if your need something to munch on. I saw Clark Gable Slept Here last month and just watched This Random World last night. Both were excellent and I will definitely be back again to watch the next play. Watching local theater whether community or professional is so magical. It gives young artists the opportunity to be seen and allows local communities to enjoy the arts without the heavy price tag. So if you are looking for something different to do on a weekend definitely come by Main Street Players and enjoy a play!
