A rounded pleasant looking building situated in Collins park and located near to the new Collins parking garage - Nice to see some interesting architecture whilst there.

Best ballet in the south east USA, probably top 10 in the states. Edward Villella's artistic vision blossomed into a world class company, still proudly representing the Balanchine repertoire. A beautiful modern studio. Performances are always well produced. The season schedule is diverse and full of quality choreography. They have a nice mix of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary. The company has a boutique feel, with just 40 dancers, but high quality technique and musicality, and stunning performances. My gf and I came to visit the studio on our break, and we saw Justin Pek was here a few days ago :)

I love this huge bright theater in Ft. Lauderdale, built in 1991. I have been here before for "A…read moreGentleman's Guide to Murder" and thoroughly enjoyed it. This day we saw a super fun magician I knew from a Netflix series. It worked well here! Last time we did the VIP tickets and met some cool local patrons in the VIP lounge where they give you complimentary snacks & discounted drinks. It's a nice perk to support the local arts! Parking is easy and reasonable enough. The area itself is a bit depressed, but seems safe enough. Ushers are friendly and helpful, elevator and bar service have fun offerings and bathrooms are fine. If you find yourself in the area, Don't sleep on viewing your favorite shows here. Check it out when in the area. Happy summer yelping in 2026! ~Tami in Miami

The performing arts center had a nice size parking garage. They had employees guiding the way before the show started. The parking process was smooth. Getting out was a mess. Even after all the years of marriage, my hubby comes up with creative date nights. I have to hand…read moreit to him, because he's always looking for innovative ways for us to have fun! That's really the key to a long relationship-seeing each other on a regular basis, doing things that are fun and different outside of the house, consistent quality time without work interruptions. Making this a priority - is important. All of you out there "newlyweds" trust me it makes a difference. So we went to the Colony theater on Lincoln Road. It was a cool night -perfect for a cocktail, relaxing and easy.. no hurry just taking in the sights and sounds. Latin music playing in the background, smell of perfume and spices in the air- outdoor cafes with with the warmth of flame lamps lighting the cool air. Breezing into the theater the sweet girl at the door greeted us with a huge smile and scanned our tickets. I fell in love with the play " Anna in the Tropics" this extraordinary play written by the Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz-playwright and director -is a work of art! It demonstrates the power of literature to move and inspire you. One of my favorite books, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, is central to this play. I thoroughly enjoyed the powerful images presented in this masterpiece. Art and literature came together in an extraordinary and impactful way. It is a play for adults because it deals with strong themes. But it is well done! I highly recommend this play! It is worth every penny. The quaint theatre situated on Lincoln Road surrounded by restaurants and bars was also quite comfortable and accommodating.

Built at a cost…read moreof $150,000, it first opened as a 1,200 seat Art Deco Paramount Pictures movie house on January 25, 1935 with actress Carol Lombard as the guest of honor. In the 1940's during WWII, the theater showed health and training videos to GI's in training. In the 1960's the movie theater was renovated along with all of Lincoln Road in the MiMo style of architecture (midcentury modern). Seating capacity was reduced to 894 seats. In the ensuing years the Colony used as a movie house and a live performance space. In 1971 Samuel Kipnis purchased the theater and used it to host The Greater Miami Educational Cultural Series and he showed educational films from his private collection. In 1982 ownership of the theater was taken over by the City of Miami Beach and the Miami City Ballet used it as a performance space. In 2006 the Colony Theatre underwent a $6.5 million renovation that returned it to its original Art Deco style and updated it with new light and sound equipment. I love when a historic building is saved, especially when it is such a wonderful example of Art Deco architecture. How wonderful that the theater is still being used today. It is even said to be haunted to be the spirit of a barking poodle and one that likes to hang out by the main stage and lobby. Today the Colony Theatre is a 417 seat performance venue managed by South Florida theater company, Miami New Drama who perform their theatrical season in the theater. The Colony also hosts film festivals, comedy, music, dance, and theater performances. The theater is nicknamed "Miami's Beauty Queen." Make like the golden age of Hollywood and take in a show. .

The sound quality is outstanding, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the theater itself is beautiful. Built in 1967, it has a classic elegance that newer venues just can't match. A winner! One thing I absolutely love is the parking. It's free, easy, and stress-free. Just pull in, follow the staff's directions, and you're parked. Getting in and out after the show is incredibly simple. The Haller Club is another great feature. For an additional fee, you get access to an exclusive lounge with unlimited food and drinks before the show and during intermission. The space is comfortable, never feels crowded, and offers a nice selection of cheeses, fresh fruit, desserts, finger foods, and hot entrées. The biggest reason I keep coming back is the lineup of performers and the value. The Parker consistently attracts great bands, and ticket prices are refreshingly reasonable. For me, no other venue combines great entertainment, affordability, convenience, and atmosphere quite like The Parker.

I wouldn't want to park in the field on a rainy day due to all the dirt. The doors opened an hour before our concert started but they didn't let people into the theater until half an hour before. There are beverages and food (refrigerated empanadas, packaged PopsCorn & boxed candies) available for purchase. It's hard to believe that The Parker, formerly known as Parker Playhouse, is almost 60 years old. Inside the theater, the seating rows are unusually long, with no breaks for aisles. The ladies' restroom was very clean. We would definitely come back if there was another show that we were interested in.
