Grady on the other hand is also anpart of their team who assures you that whatever you need help with maintenance you can count on him and he's a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy. Our neighbors are all friendly and lovely to chat with when we can, since it has been winter, we all try to get into our apartments in a hurry but I'm sure once summer comes there would probably be more smiles and greetings here and there since it's gonna be lovely weather. The amenities are always kept clean and tidy, same as their receiving are which always smells great! As a bonus, they offer you free starbucks and have parties to socialize with your neighbors occasionally. The vue has been a great welcome to us here in St. Louis and also great assurance that we are in a safe place. We have had no issues and have settled in happily. We Moved Here for the Security--We Left Because We Didn't Feel Safe…read more Our experience was very disappointing. We moved into The Vue in September 2023 and moved out earlier this month after living there for roughly three years. One of the main reasons I chose The Vue was because it was a gated community. It was more expensive than some other apartments we considered, and even though other places offered garage parking while we had to park outside here, I felt the gate would provide an additional level of security. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. The gate was a CONSTANT issue. There were times when it was broken and left open for WEEKS at a time. During one of those times, three cars were broken into, including mine. There were thousands of dollars in damages caused by people attempting to steal the vehicles. I contacted management to ask whether they would help cover any of the damages, especially considering the gate had been left open for weeks. I was told they would take the issue to corporate and see whether anything could be done. Ultimately, the answer was no. I was left paying for all of the damages out of pocket and received nothing more than a sorry for the inconvenience. I later learned that other car owners and residents had similar complaints and concerns about the gate and vehicle break-ins. I understand that apartment complexes may have limitations regarding liability, but when one of the main selling points is being a gated community and the gate is repeatedly broken and left open for extended periods of time, residents should not be made to feel like their concerns don't matter. The gate gave us a false sense of security. By the time we moved out, we simply did not feel safe there anymore. The move-out process has been just as frustrating as many of the other experiences we had while living there. We were charged for an additional day of rent, along with other move-out charges, and by that point, it just felt like one more thing being piled on. The charge I have the biggest issue with, however, is the carpet cleaning. Earlier this summer, The Vue had workers come into our apartment to repair the patio sliding glass door. Those workers walked through our bedroom wearing work boots without covers on them. Our bedroom was the only room in the entire apartment with carpet, and there was repair and construction work taking place in and around that space. Now, after their workers tracked through and affected that carpet during repairs they arranged, we are being charged for carpet cleaning. That is what makes this so frustrating. We are being held financially responsible for cleaning carpet that their own workers contributed to messing up. Instead of taking responsibility for the condition their workers contributed to during their repairs, they are trying to pass that expense on to us during move-out. We had to question and fight them on practically everything throughout our time there, including repairs, concerns, and now move-out charges. By the end of the process, it felt like every issue became another battle instead of receiving fair treatment and reasonable communication. On top of everything else, the walls are extremely thin. Our neighbors had dogs that barked at all hours of the night. The night before our move-out day, we could still hear the dogs barking as late as 11:45 p.m. on a Sunday night as if they were in the next room. We could also hear cars on the street constantly, morning, day, and night. If you're considering The Vue because you want to feel safe in a gated community, I would seriously reconsider. If you don't want to constantly hear your neighbors and street traffic, reconsider. And if you don't want to have to fight over repairs and charges, reconsider. After nearly three years of living there, we were more than ready to leave. ONE STAR. Very disappointing experience.

I noticed bike rentals, picnic basket rentals and exercise equipment that residents can rent to take across the street to the park or use on the rooftop. There is an un-manned convenience store (cameras of course), which shows they really expect high caliber residents. The self-serve coffee/tea/cocoa/wine bar is pretty cool also. What I didn't expect was the wonderful community of residents and excellent management of the complex. The management is consistently responsive and helpful. They really go the extra distance to quickly resolve any issues and to support the community environment. I didn't expect to care about the community element since I hadn't experienced it before, but that, along with how responsive they are, has become one of my favorite things about living here. As an example, our cat recently went missing. The Park Forest management sent out a message to all residents and staff to be on the lookout and they would send me updates when they learned of any sightings. As my daughter and I searched, I was also touched by the response from so many residents who were looking and messaging me. They would stop and talk to me and my daughter when they saw us out searching. The last place I lived, no one even acknowledged you. I'd give more stars if I could. This is a great place to live.

Apartment hunters in STL have a huge task in finding a great place to live. Let me save you some…read moretime and tell you to take a hard pass on this place. Over the past three years this complex has taken a huge dive down into the level of unacceptable conditions. It appears they will just about rent to anyone just to put people in apartments without any regard for adjoining tenants. The tenants above us were so noisy it was a contributing factor to our decision to get away. It was constant noise. If you make the mistake of choosing this place you will be alarmed at the apathy coming from their office personnel. Any questions we had was a bother to them. At one time they tried everything except the right thing when we were dealing with an extremely noisy bathroom fan. Once they even bent the blades to "fix" it. They never did fix our ice maker in the whole time we were there. Security is a huge issue as we were alerted to kids kicking on doors during the night. Unattended children walking onto private patios was a problem. A gate at the back of the property was never locked allowing strangers on city streets to walk right into the complex. Dumpsters were constantly overflowing and infested with raccoons. Watch out! Don't get bit. The property managers along with the office manager and staff are completely indifferent to your concerns and appear to try to get by with the minimum amount of work. In summation, save yourself the time of going here to visit or renting here. Some reviews from other apartments seem like past tenants were just getting back at their former landlords. THIS is not one of those. It is an HONEST review of what we put up with. We never knew how could it could be now that we are in our new place. These people have it figured out here. The people at Park Forest -- don't have a clue!!

Depending on what you're looking for, you can add or subtract points for the following: * It's quiet and you'll see kids playing outside all the time, but not in an annoying or obnoxious way. *There's not a lively social scene onsite or close by. *I would say it's more family oriented. Close by you'll find: *parks *YMCA down the road *St. Anthony's Medical Center down the road *Schnucks, Dierbergs, Walgreens, and misc small businesses, fast food joints, and local okay-ish restaurants *South County mall just a hop, skip, and a jump away *and church/school options - it's the Mehlville District I personally take off one star because they don't have a robust program of organized activities for tenants, but they do offer the following onsite for renters, which is nice: *tennis courts *small playground *decent swimming pool *beautiful clubhouse with amenities: tanning booth, small gym/variety workout equipment, small computer room, DVDs, and breakfast served there every Friday am *gazebo (not sure why, but it's pretty) *picnic tables and grills in various spots throughout the complex *fenced in (small) dog walking park *garages, limited availability and for an added rental fee *some units have built in washer/dryers-yay, yay, yay! The management team is courteous and friendly. The grounds are very well kept and there's lots of green space, trees, and floweing bushes. Any maintenance and repair requests are done within 24 hours of reporting and/or begun if the project is a bit more extensive. It is in South County, right off Tesson Ferry. It has close and easy access to 270 and 55, and the traffic in the local area is not bad at all. It's just about 30 minutes away from everywhere if you want fun-city-like stuff to do. I would definitely recommend Southmoor as a place to call home!
