I love eviama life. I visit almost exclusively for massage. I started going when they were located near my house and followed them to their current location because I love them so much. The spa is committed to earth and people friendly practices and they offer so many unique types of massage. Just came from an amazing myofascial release massage with Sofia. Went in with sore muscles and came out feeling pain-free, balanced and relaxed. Sofia was amazing. She has a really responsive and intuitive style and really listens to what you'd like to focus on. In the past, I've had a fantastic ashiatsu massage with Sofia as well and got great relief from that style as well. read more

She was thoughtful and kind in our initial interactions, but she was absolutely stellar once it came time for my Ashiatsu Massage. She was detail oriented and mindful of my goals, and I left feeling incredible inside and out. I did the "Walk In Beauty" spa package for my birthday for some pampering. Eviama did not disappoint. It starts with sitting in their cute sauna for 25 minutes followed by a shower. Sophia gave my massage and Reiki and it was phenomenal! Amari did my facial and scalp message and it was just as phenomenal! By the time I was done I was so blissed out and relaxed. The spa was clean, the staff were friendly and kind. I highly recommend. read more

I am shocked that this spa has such a great rating. I took a day to recharge and do things for me and found this still had openings. I have regular tightness in my jaw and back and found the BeWell Philly article about Houdini Jini and thought it seemed perfect. I saw the price but still settled for it because I thought this would be a great place relax. With all of these great ratings I really had my exceptions high. Way too high. I booked easily from my app for a day of appointment. It is in a building where you need to page up- however upon entering it is so confusing how to get there. Many hallways and small maps to see you need to go upstairs. It's super cool that it is on a courtyard but I wished the courtyard was used better. I have been to lots of spas- normally dimmed lighting, minor decorations, great essential relaxing oils smells and relaxing music. This is the absolute for this. It has decorations filled everywhere, bad odor, weird music, and sunlight. The cup of water was nothing extra. Not lemon water or even iced. While in the waiting room I waited 25 minutes to listen to all the workers discuss their lunch and none of them even greeted me. There are no robes, slippers, heated towels, or more than 1 cream for one of the more expensive massages. ($115 for 45 minutes) my massage was decent, but nothing that has me wanting to go back. I was not told about what was being put on my body/ where my tension lies/ what I could do in the future/ NOTHING. Save your money (you'll actually save)and go elsewhere if you actually want a spa treatment- even chains. I won't be returning. read more

I was looking forward to coming here, and honestly I had to hustle and cut another meet up short, and pay for transportation to make it here on time for my appointment (instead of walking as I had planned on a nice day), only to have them be unprofessional and make me wait over 30 minutes because their therapist was running late. I'm thankful that I was able to push back other things to still get it done today, but honestly it is unfortunate that I had to wait so long for a simple 20 min brow tint. However, they seem to use really good products, and once they finally saw me, they were attentive and personable. I had a coupon so I was excited to try out the brow tint, but to be honest, I'm not sure if it's worth the price if I had to pay full price for it. My eyebrows are already fairly dark, so the tint was more to highlight the baby hairs, but it didn't do too much for me. Also, it stained my skin around it much more than I anticipated based on what she told me, which did not look too flattering as it was fairly uneven. Just personally didn't have much of a wowed experience here but can't complain much either! read more

Had an excellent experience this afternoon at Eviama Life Spa! A friend was in town and our last event was massages, a great way to end our trip. I googled spas and so happy I selected this business. It's located in the city's center but once you enter their space you're transformed into a beautiful oasis. As soon as you walk through the doors you feel a calmness. We were asked to check our shoes at the door and fill out a short form and identify your troubled spots. Once done we were introduced to our masseuses. I selected the salt glow and massage with Kim who was bubbly and took the time to describe the plan for my session. I found my spa home in Philly. I will be back for sure! read more

I've had a facial at another skin spa before, but it was nothing like this! The minute you take off your shoes, it's like you've come to a cheery place of your own. Everyone is so welcoming here, from the cooling herbal tea to the encouragement of taking your time for paperwork. Amari prepared a perfect room and table for me, complete with warming pads. The facial had so many gentle steps with beautiful aromatherapy built in with Dr. Hauschka products. I'm already a Hauschka lover/believer since they are so natural. It was one of the reasons I picked this spa. Amari has a soothing voice and explained things step-by-step, yet also allowed time for quiet. There were extra touches like the neck massage and gentle stroking of the feet and ankles to restore your body. Amari cares deeply for their work, and it shows through everything they do. There is no add-on here or shaming. This is a place where you are loved as you are. I'll be back. :) They have Alexa, so bring your music requests. read more

I needed to book some emergency massages here for my friend and myself last week (long story). Thankfully, there was space left. The staff was very kind and accommodating. I absolutely love the ambiance. Everything about this place was relaxing (not always the case in my past experiences). The rooms have high ceilings and tall windows letting in natural light - making it feel less claustrophobic than some other places I've been to. It is on the pricier end in Philly, but I think it's worth the price. Cheryl did an amazing job with my massage. I don't recall its name, but it was a 1-hr deep tissue massage with some type of essential oils. She got rid of all the knots in my upper back. My friend got a Himalayan Pink Salt Rock massage and she said it was excellent. (I believe Cooper was her massage therapist.) I'll have to try that massage next time. Among my massage experiences in Philly, I must say this one was the best so far. I look forward to coming back to try some of their other massage treatments. read more

I've passed this place (or at least the sign for it) a few times on foot but never tried it out. Come Midtown Festival, I won a free facial! :) So on a weekend where I desperately needed to de-stress, I finally made my trip here. They have to buzz you in and you're walking through what appears to be a somewhat abandoned building before finally getting to your destination on the second floor. There, you are surrounded by displays of various things - jewelry, makeup - it almost looks like an antique shop. It's almost a little busy for the eyes to take in. The receptionist is friendly and offers you water or tea while you wait. The wait is brief, then I'm ushered into a room, given a robe to put on, and ready for my hour of relaxation. Dim lights, soothing classical music, and Marissa's able hands massaging my face. She gave me a good extraction on my nose/chin. Usually it's pretty uncomfortable (duh) but it was actually tolerable when she did it. She massages your neck and shoulders too, which feels really nice. The hour is up before you know it. The biggest downside about this place is probably the price. At $109 for a basic facial, I probably wouldn't have been able to come here if I hadn't won the free facial. However, comforts do have their price so the next time I want to treat myself, this is a good place to return to. read more

My best friend and I went to Eviama for the Aroma Salt Glow treatment and added on massages - and we both loved our experience. We did run in to a scheduling snafu - however, the staff at Eviama worked diligently to fix it which was much appreciated. As most have mentioned you have to be buzzed in and we actually both walked right by the spa twice as the main door is a little tucked back - once we were buzzed in I do agree it's a little confusing once inside to know where to go but we made our way upstairs and what greeted us was shocking! It's the most calming oasis - a little hidden gem in the middle of the city! The spa itself was gorgeous inside - it felt very zen! I had Tiffany for my massage and she was amazing! Dare I say one of the best massages I had received in a long time! She really focused on the spots I was super tight and I came out feeling blissed out! I am pregnant and had a massage at this location. It was a less than desirable experience for the following reasons: 1. The hands of the masseuse were calloused, which did not feel nice. 2. I was shortchanged on time: about 12 minutes to be exact. In addition to the prenatal massage, I also purchased a peppermint oil scalp massage which was supposed to extend my massage time but the therapist ended the session early. She did use some peppermint in my hair but it was a part of the 55 minutes she spent with me. 3. The therapist did not know how to do a scalp massage. She ended up pulling my hair. 4. The therapist did not focus on the areas I wanted her to focus on which were palms, feet, scalp, and mid back. 5. The therapist did not check in with me to find out if I was happy with the pressure. She was rubbing too lightly and I had to ask her to increase the pressure. She did but only for a short time. 6. I did not feel a personal connection with the place, the staff, or the therapist. Despite the high price they did not go above and beyond. In fact, it was a bit below average. I left feeling cheated and unhappy, but I still left a tip. If I were you, I'd skip this place or at least make sure you get a seasoned therapist. The one I had was subpar. read more

A friend and I booked massages together, and when we arrived were told there was only one massage therapist there so she could only massage one of us. The other one had called out sick, and no one made any effort to call us ahead of time to let us know. We drove over an hour to get there, paid $25 to park and both took the day off from work. Things happen. We get that. But the front desk staff was not even all that apologetic and there was no offer of other services to make up for our appointments being cancelled with no notice. We just would have appreciated a call, text or email before we drove all the way there and parked. It particularly was disappointing because it was so difficult to get an appointment for two of us at the same time in the first place. I have gotten massages here by both Cassandra and Tiffany. You have to buzz into the building and the entrance is down the hall and leads you through an adorable courtyard. The waiting room in the spa is towards the back and has a great view of the street below. I got an Ashiatsu massage from Cassandra and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend for anyone who has tension in their back and especially below the shoulders blades. I got a Therapeutic Massage from Tiffany and have never left a massage feeling more relaxed. It was amazing and she gave just the right attention to all of my problem areas. I am so excited that I stumbled upon Eviama Life Spa. I was visiting Philly for few days and needed to relax and recharge for the afternoon. This place is an oasis of healing!!! I walked in and felt that I transported to a retreat. I can't wait to tell everyone I know. I booked a facial and Penny knew right away what to recommend for my skin. Shortly, I was greeted by Laura a licensed Esthetician and massage therapist. Laura was beyond knowledgeable, highly skilled and was so pleasant. she is the best esthetician I know !!! love the products by Dr Hauschka, they smell like a garden of flowers and help bring the skin to a healthy balance. I also don't want to forget to mention that they operate sustainably by using reclaimed wood and organic/ biodynamic skin products like Dr Hauschka. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a massage, facial or any other healing modalities. Lastly i was so happy to walk away with few product samples by Dr Hauschka and a glowing face. I arrived to a building in the Gayborhood and was immediately buzzed upstairs. The walk from the stairs was beautiful. I couldn't believe that existed behind the boring buildings. My massage therapist, Rhiannon was so wonderful and nice. She continued to make sure I was comfortable and happy. Also, the front desk staff were so friendly. I came here because my lovely Sugaring Master, Mindy, joined Eviamas team. The place is so quiet, clean, and comfortable. I will definitely look into booking a massage here. I've been with Mindy for almost 3 years now and once I've gotten sugared I've never looked back to waxing. My hair growth takes about 6-8 weeks to come in at this point, my skin has improved tremendously, and I dont get any redness or irritation after my appointments. I finally made it in to Eviama for a service (though I have been there several times to make purchases or host events), on New Year's Eve no less! My neck and shoulders had been feeling super tight for weeks so I finally decided to give my fiancé a break and get a professional massage. I could not believe my luck that there was an available appointment with Cooper in the early afternoon. When I arrived, I filled out a quick form and then Cooper took me to the treatment room, where we talked about some of my problem areas. The massage was fantastic. My shoulders and upper back felt a lot less stiff and I had that euphoric feeling that only the best massages bring on when I walked outside into the cold winter air. Penny is a goddess. Or some sort of deity, maybe an angel, sent to earth to make us much happier people. For years (and I mean YEARS) I had horrible skin. Really, really horrible, break-out-rashy, embarrassing, please god let me hide skin. I tried the usual antibiotics, skin creams, proactive, etc. At the end of my rope, and in a hail-mary moment, I called Eviama, just to see what this holistic thing is all about. I made an appointment for a facial uniquely designed for bad skin. When I arrived, the peace and quiet of the place was instantly relaxing. It definitely has that "holistic organic" vibe, with sweet and authentic staff and lots of yoga and wellness magazines in the waiting area. Penny swished in to the waiting area and brought me back to a peaceful room that smelled like lavender. The whole process was nearly 70 minutes, most of it relaxing, some of it neccessarily ouchy (extraction!). Penny was extremely in-tune with my skin issues, and suggested a number of things I can do to help keep my skin happy. One thing I really took away is that we have a tendancy to fight our skin - see all the anti-aging products advertised on TV. Instead, we need to work with our skin, to help it be it's best, not change it into something it's not. Needless to say, 4 days later, my skin was flawless, like a porcelain doll. My Mom was shocked when she saw me, and amazed at how perfect my skin looked. I became hooked on the Dr. Haushka products they use, and since have used them and maintained beautiful, well-loved skin. Moral of the story: Pricey, but oh-so-worth it. Gave me back my confidence and happy skin. In a world gone mad with plastic surgery and dermobrasian and all sorts of harshness, let's add a little kindness into the mix. read more

Sad to say I will not be back not will I recommend this place to anyone who is seeking physical help, relaxation, pain relieve, maintenance etc. Besides the neat ambiance of this place there's nothing that speaks: this place will make your body and mind feel relaxed, healed or maintained. I went there for two different types of massages: one for the hips and one for upper body, which in itself is a way for them make more money on a client by diving it into two separate massages as opposed to regular whole body treatment. I receive massage every other week due to my profession and this was by far the worst I have ever received! I'm OK with all the different types and techniques, but a "scattered brain" technique or the one where you talk a big game but barely lay your hands on my body to actually massage it for $108 for hips and $144 for upper body is just absurd. They asked to specify how deep you want your massage, so j asked for Deep Tissue. I barely got a mild stroke. Why even bother filling out the form? In addition to those massage they give an option to add an extra treatment for $19 (i chose hand treatment) that WILL NOT add nor will it take away from my massage time. My masseuse couldn't handle doing it all and was running in and out of the room for stuff she needed, making a stroke or two on my leg and then taking lots of time putting on a hand treatment. She finally said: "well we don't have much time left" but we barely even did anything with my body!? Then she was rushing around doing absolutely nothing huffing and puffing and "oh my"-ing me. AFTER she was done and I got dressed she came back to tell me that we actually have 12 minutes left. WTF!!!!????? Now what? It will take me that much time to undress and another hour for her to get shit together!? Disaster.... I seriously be happier if I didn't leave a penny at that place. I left mad not relaxed and my feels no different than when I came in. read more

I was in town and was looking for a holistic facial, so I headed to Eviama. Meh! If I hadn't spent $139 on the "Special Challenge Facial" (which didn't seem too special; I wonder if I could have booked a more basic facial and received the same service for less money), I might've given this four stars. However, my technician seemed a little "green" in her bedside manner (a little unsure of herself). She definitely knew what she was doing during the facial itself (extractions weren't too painful), but for $139 I expected a little décolleté or hand/arm massage while my mask set - but, nope. She left me alone in the room for ten minutes. Sigh. And that's usually my favorite part! That's your reward for making it through the extractions without crying! I opted for a $20 hand treatment add-on, which was nice but not really worth it. The one great thing that I took away from this was an introduction to the Dr. Hauschka line of products. She recommended I use the lavender bath, cleansing milk, toner, and light moisturizer - boy has this stuff made a difference (it's what they use during the facial, too). Overall - fine facial, I've just had better ones for less. NOTE: I bought my friend a massage here with Cooper (I think was his name?) and she said it was "mind blowing" and "the best massage she's ever had." So try that! read more

The spa space itself at Eviama gets 5 stars. I loved the entryway with a little shop (I had no idea they sold so much great stuff!), the waiting room in the back and the service areas themselves were also quite nice. The staff was also friendly and helpful, and I loved the touch of offering herbal tea or water while I waited. I went to Eviama for a bikini wax and overall thought it was just okay. I'd say 3-3.5 stars. I've had way worse, but I've also had much better. The wax itself was completely fine. Took a little longer than usual, and hurt maybe a tiny bit more, but nothing I can complain about. And the results were good as well. But the wax only lasted 1-2ish weeks before I noticed serious regrowth. I've been waxing for a long time and I personally can go 4 weeks without any need to return (and honestly stretch 8-10 weeks between appts without much of an issue). I think it was a different type of wax, which might have been the cause? No matter what happened, I would never tell someone not to go to Eviama for a wax. The experience itself was great, and I only wish the service lasted longer so I could justify returning and paying their top dollar prices. I won't be back to Eviama for a bikini wax, but I've heard awesome things about their other services. Definitely plan to return for a massage and/or facial soon! read more

Penny is a healer. I had knee replacement surgery in October of 2021. It did not go well and western medicine basically said "opps, sorry" and told me that I'd have a pain and limp for the rest of my life. I was referred to Penny by a friend. After 3 months of myofascial release I can now walk and climb steps effortlessly and the pain lessens every week. Some might call it a miracle, but I know that the healing came through Penny's expertise, patience and belief that bodies will heal if we collaborate with them. I could not be more grateful. This place is incredible. I found it through Yelp and decided to give it a try during my recent weekend trip to Philly for a wedding. What a treat! The space itself is beautiful and calming, with a very warm, zen kind of vibe. I was lucky enough to have a facial with Penny, the spa's owner, and she could not have been better. She was extremely passionate, knowledgeable, and skilled. Without question the best, most relaxing facial of my life. Fabulous results as well! I walked out on a cloud of relaxation with glowing skin. Eviama has not burned a single fossil fuel in 11 years and that green ethos infuses all they do, from their products to their business practices. I love Dr.Hauschka products and Eviama carries/uses the entire line. All natural and super powerful. Went back for a massage with Vicki. I recommend her, and she even cleared up some of my skin during the massage (an aesthetician's job is never done)! I do like the quality of the massages, but I don't love that the rooms aren't darkened. Despite the daylight in the room, this place is dependable for a decent massage. I was ecstatic to discover Eviama "by accident" while looking for a day spa to treat myself and my mother-in-law to facials but needed to find a place that used all natural, hypoallergenic products due to my very sensitive skin. Being from Germany and thus very familiar with Dr Hauschka products (which warrant a review in and of themselves), I jumped for joy when I discovered that they use the products and had estheticians trained in using them. The experience itself was exceptional and truly relaxing from beginning to end with your skin having a radiant "glow" for days after. I got a facial here and was not impressed. The facial was very pricey and it made my skin break out for the next week or so. The thing that bugged me the most is that the woman who did my facial kept on talking about all of the blackheads on my nose. They aren't blackheads - they are sebaceous filaments, which are just a normal part of skin and don't indicate some kind of underlying issue. She tried to extract them all, and it was very painful. In short - come here for a massage, but don't bother with the facial. It's not worth it. read more
