STAY FAR AWAY! I had…read morean appointment scheduled for 12/12 at 2:15 PM. On 12/11 at 10:04 AM, I received a text asking me to confirm with "Y" or cancel with "X." I was at work and wasn't able to respond immediately. By 11:18 AM the same morning, my appointment had already been rescheduled without my consent. When I reached out for clarification, Jazmine asked if I wanted to reschedule. I explained that I found it strange and concerning that my appointment could be moved without notifying me. She insisted that nobody had rescheduled it, even though I had the confirmation texts proving otherwise. I sent screenshots in case there was an internal issue with messages not showing, but she continued to repeat that "nobody moved it." Because I've had previous negative experiences with SkinLaundry, this incident with Jazmine was the final straw. Being told something didn't happen, when I had proof it did, is just dishonesty. When I ultimately canceled my membership, she added a note claiming that I was rude to the staff during scheduling. My screenshots show the opposite. At no point was I rude; instead, Jazmine was dismissive and unprofessional. When speaking verbally on the phone, she told me she had apologized in the text messages, yet there is no apology anywhere in the conversation. I then spoke with the manager on the phone who essentially brushed off my concerns and told me I was being "snarky" for simply asking whether my appointment would keep getting rescheduled. As a paying client, I think it's reasonable to want consistency and transparency. Overall, I cannot recommend SkinLaundry. Their customer service is unprofessional, and the environment is biased. Managers seem more interested in protecting their staff than addressing legitimate concerns. On top of that, the treatments themselves are not worth the cost; there are other places that use more effective lasers and deliver faster results. I'm including screenshots below to support everything stated. I apologize if it's out of order. I uploaded them in order and Yelp reorganized it.

The girl who did my diamond glow facial didn't lower the suction around my delicate eye skin like you are supposed to do and i got broken capillaries and bruising that is still lingering from one month ago. It also wasn't accompanied by a full facial. Skin cleaning and then the machine and it was over. Seems like some plastic surgeons just slapped "med spa" on their practice and it isn't an actual spa service most hope for.

I booked a massage on July 3, 2026, at the AWAY Spa at W Philadelphia, expecting an exceptional experience, especially given the $300 price, which included a 20% gratuity. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below my expectations. The massage itself was extremely disappointing. There was so much oil applied during the treatment that I was genuinely concerned about slipping off the table. The therapist also appeared inexperienced, as the massage felt uncomfortable rather than relaxing. Instead of leaving refreshed, I left feeling dissatisfied. The spa environment was equally underwhelming. It lacked the welcoming, luxurious atmosphere I expected from a high-end property. I was told I could enjoy the pool after my treatment, but when I arrived, chairs were covered with unattended towels, making the area look cluttered and unkempt rather than inviting. I also attempted to use the sauna and cold plunge. While there, I observed a guest leave the sauna and enter the cold plunge without rinsing off first. Seeing this raised concerns about cleanliness and hygiene, making me uncomfortable using the facilities. Overall, the experience did not reflect the premium price point. It honestly felt as though the rates had been increased simply because it was a holiday weekend, without delivering the level of service or quality that should accompany that cost. In hindsight, I should have booked at the Four Seasons. Their spa services are comparably priced, but the level of service, professionalism, and overall experience has always been exceptional. I won't make the same mistake again, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend AWAY Spa based on my experience. read more

They proceeded to chat about Cari's dog, family, and all sorts of things while I waited patiently for 15 minutes past my appointment time (it was 2:30pm by the time the women left). Somewhere in the conversation, her name was said, which confused me...Like, is she really sitting here chatting about life during my appointment time?? I went to the bathroom right after the women left, and Cari greeted me and took me downstairs around 2:33pm. She didn't acknowledge her tardiness, apologize, or anything. Very unprofessional and problematic. By the time she started my massage, it was 2:40pm (remember, this is a "2:15pm, 90-min massage"). She ended at 3:55pm. How many minutes is that? 75 minutes. I left and didn't tip because her generous tip was already built into the $205 she was prepaid for a 75-minute massage. I called later to share my complaint, and she claimed that "undressing and all that is included in the 90 minutes. You received an 80-minute massage." LIES!!! She started at 2:40pm and ended at 3:55pm---75 minutes. If you add my undressing time, we can *generously* say it was 78 minutes. All of this is after she called at the last minute about my initial massage 2 weeks prior because she said, "I have to volunteer for a basketball tournament, and I just received the schedule. I can book you with a male massage therapist." Ma'am, why was my appointment confirmed if you had other life priorities??? And I had already explicitly put on the form that I wanted a female massage therapist, as the website stated I should. Red flag...But I had a non-refundable gift certificate that was already paid for, so at that point I had no choice but to use it. She would not acknowledge that her approach was problematic, and I think she didn't care because she was already paid and wanted to get on to whatever was next in her life at 4pm.

I paid $75 total, $60 for the service + $3 fee to use credit card (they have an ATM) and $12 tip. The massage itself was great. My whole body was worked on and medium pressure was more than enough for me. They even did some facial and scalp work which was a nice touch. You get your own room for the massage. Also, it may have just been my experience, but the walls are thin and you can hear a lot of passing voices and footsteps from outside the room and also outside of the building. Overall I recommend this spot for someone who doesn't necessarily want to pay a premium / need any of the special scents or products / frills but still wants a good quality massage.
