Every stay, Hotel Paradox has made our mini vacation amazing…read more Rooms are "beach chic" with soft cotton linens, a roomy glass shower with pebbled floor, British luxury brand Gilcrest & Soames bath products and rooms terraced overlooking the redwoods and the pool. (sometimes a slice of the parking lot, ask for the prettiest view). You cannot beat slipping on your slides and having a very late breakfast overlooking the patio or having an afternoon craft cocktail and poke nachos while poolside. My son's a fan of the tableside s'mores. Come as you are. Hotel Paradox is our place to relax and recharge.

I am super picky about my drinking water and I was thrilled they had reverse osmosis filtered water bottle filling stations! The rooms were nice. I loved that they had a little free library. My only complaints are that the beds were kinda lumpy with pressure points/dips and the pillows were too soft and unsupportive. Not sure if we had bad luck with the room because I see other reviews saying the beds were comfortable but my husband and I both had difficulty sleeping and were having back pain from the beds and pillows. The front desk was able to locate a few firmer pillows for us so that helped a bit. My other complaint is that there were no microwaves or silverware in the rooms. It would have been really nice to be able to microwave a few things. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the staff were accommodating.

I have always got great service from Becks Shoes store at Capitola mall location. Since it has been…read morea few years, I did not know that the Store moved to a new location. Becks Shoes 4105 Portola Drive Santa Cruz. The new location is great and accessible from 41st avenue and is in the corner of 41 st Ave and Portola Drive. There is parking in the back and the front of the store is off of Portola Drive. Addison the sales clerk is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. Not a pushy salesman! He provided his knowledge and patience and helped me select the appropriate superfeet orthotics for my feet to give me comfort and stability to my tennis shoes! He also suggested a certain type of tennis shoe that can provide stability for pronation and supination. He did not push me in buying these new stability tennis shoes. But he actually found some good superfeet insoles for my condition and and stability and comfort for my existing tennis shoes. In the future I will look into buying new tennis shoes that he recommended that I can fit my new superfeet orthotics and provide more stability and comfort! I greatly appreciate his help and easygoing manner and would recommend you stop by the new Becks Shoes store at the above mentioned location. Thank you, Alberto Barba

I'm here from out of town. This mall has so much potential…read more I felt kind of sad walking through seeing how many empty stores were around and how many stores look like they're holding on by thread If this was my town, I would definitely want to pull community together to get it going. We walked in here to find food. Unfortunately, the food court only had five different places only two to choose from for food. Unfortunately, the Ramen place was a no go for us. The Taqueria Gabrielle was super good and they do a great job at how much food they put together in their food and prices are well meaning french fries meat, etc. The service was really great at the Taqueria Gabriel they do have a coffee shop here called the daily grind coffee I have to say my favorite place to see here was the bookstore. If you love books definitely drop by. It is huge. It is so nice. You could get lost in there. I really hope the community comes together and makes this place a great place that it can be for all the teenagers and young parents to come and bring their kids and go shopping . Don't forget to check out the thrift store if you're around as well ! Lots of parking and they have tons of bus stops so you're able to come with public transportation and or have plenty of places to park

I was checked in by Camilla (hope I'm spelling it right) and she was absolutely pleasant and was extremely helpful! We stayed in the two king room and had plenty of space. There was a mini fridge and microwave and closet (not photographed). We had all wood floor and although the rooms were cleaned I would probably brought a swifter just to mop the floors. They were dark wood so it was hard to tell if/when it was mopped. I had house shoes so it wasn't terrible but I'd recommend bring slippers or wearing socks. Our bathroom was ADA friendly and had walk in shower with a bench. It a bit older but had some great amenities like a nice seating area with a fire pit to enjoy the cool ocean breeze at night. You can even rent things like toys and umbrellas for the beach so no need to pack extra! There were other rooms I saw that had an excellent ocean views and for the value it was a great deal considering this area is quite pricey. I wish the restaurant attached was up and running because I hear the Thai food there was amazing! It says closed for renovation but it doesn't look like it will be opened anytime soon. No food on site but is very walkable to a corner store, cafes, and restaurants nearby including along the boardwalk. I would definitely stay there again for future Santa Cruz visits!

I'd say the best part of staying there was the customer service from Jessica. She was very knowledgeable of everything close and made us feel very welcome.
