But If you're outside looking at the rooms you would think you're in an apartment building because the walkway/hallway is open to the outside. On the other hand you can walk out your room enjoy to e view of the sunrise or sunset. The location is perfect if you plan to go to Santa Cruz beach boardwalk, it's less than 6-7 minute drive. And if you are an early bird you can find plenty of open public metered parking spots. Note: the restaurant staff. I found one server didn't treat us well. For one we were told to come and pick a table. And we found one but it hadn't been cleaned so she told us to wait at the front (when clearly nobody's even waiting at the front) everyone's just walking around. Then a couple of people came after us and they were seated right away. Was not even told go to the front. Like what? I find that rude. I give this entire experience 4 stars. It was nice but not the best. But I'd come back again.

This was a business trip so the hotel was paid for by my client. I asked them to put the charge on the card that was paying for the room but they refused. "the charge will be released when you check out". I checked out on July 9, 2026 and have yet to see this $100 come back to my card. I called several times asking for the manager but only got the front desk girls. Then a guy comes on and starts yelling at me to stop annoying the girls. he sounded like one of their boyfriends. I also reached out to the card that the charge was placed on. They "voided" the charge but again, the $100 never reappeared. As of now I have yet to get the $100 back in my account. If these people can scam me for $100. I wonder who else they've scammed and for how much? I'll never go back!

The good: -- This does the job if you need a few miles of charge and have some time to spare, or if you are staying at the hotel. -- Clean and new businesses next to the hotel including a McDonald's, an Ike's and a Habit burger grill. A donut shop is across the street but see below about getting there. The bad: -- the angle of the ramp getting out of the garage all but guarantees that you will smack the bottom of your car, at least it did my Model S, and probably would for a 3 (can't remember if the X has higher clearance, and if you have the optional suspension package, maybe you can raise it up). Maybe slower speeds can prevent that, but I was going pretty slow/garage speed. -- Also, fast and distracted drivers getting off he highway right there meant that crossing the street was harrowing. Even with the light and in a crosswalk we almost got hit...twice(!) going each way. -- And then there was the sketchiness of the characters roaming around that part of town, especially across the street, but it was overall fine enough during the day.

The vendors are friendly and affordable. Some may be expensive but it honestly depends on what you're looking for. Bring cash! Not everyone uses zelle, venmo, or PayPal. Some vendors do take cards. I easily spend 2+ hours here. I absolutely love scavenging. I highly suggest you bring quarters to feed the meters or have the ParkMobile app downloaded. Wearing sunscreen during the summer is another good idea.

The Taqueria Gabrielle was super good and they do a great job at how much food they put together in their food and prices are well meaning french fries meat, etc. The service was really great at the Taqueria Gabriel they do have a coffee shop here called the daily grind coffee I have to say my favorite place to see here was the bookstore. If you love books definitely drop by. It is huge. It is so nice. You could get lost in there. I really hope the community comes together and makes this place a great place that it can be for all the teenagers and young parents to come and bring their kids and go shopping . We booked the Captain's Suite for one night to celebrate our anniversary, and unfortunately, what…read morewas supposed to be a special getaway turned into an extremely disappointing experience. Within about two hours of settling into the suite, we saw a HUGE RAT walking near the kitchen island IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. As soon as it saw us, it ran and jumped behind the refrigerator. We immediately packed up and went to the front desk because there was no way we were comfortable staying in that room. The staff moved us to another room, but it was nowhere near comparable to the Captain's Suite we had booked and paid for. We specifically chose a larger space because we were traveling with our two dogs and my wife is somewhat claustrophobic, so the downgrade made a huge difference for us. To make matters worse, the replacement room was next to two dogs that barked throughout the day and night. What has been most frustrating is the lack of response from management. We asked to speak with a manager and I have left several messages since our stay, but no one has returned my calls or made any real effort to compensate us for what happened. I understand that unexpected things can happen, and I appreciated the front desk moving us, but finding a rat inside the suite we paid for, being moved to a significantly less comparable room, and then receiving no follow-up or compensation from management is unacceptable. We chose this property specifically to celebrate our anniversary, and unfortunately the experience completely took away from what was supposed to be a special night. I really wish management had simply taken the time to respond and make things right.
