What made this location stand out from other EV charging stations was the 24/7 security and access to restrooms and a lounge area. As a woman charging late at night, the security presence made a huge difference. It made the station feel safe and monitored, which is honestly something a lot of late-night charging locations lack. The restroom access and lounge were also a big plus since charging can take a while. Unfortunately, those features are gone now. The restrooms are only available during "business hours," and the 24/7 security appears to have been removed. That completely changes the experience for those of us who charge at night. To be blunt, those were the things that made this station worth coming to. Without security and without restroom access late at night, it's really just another charger, and not necessarily one I'll go out of my way to use anymore. It's disappointing to see a location that used to feel safe and accommodating move in the opposite direction. I hope BP Pulse reconsiders these changes, because they mattered more than management probably realizes.

I have not had to wait for a charger, thank goodness! Lots of restaurants near by that you can grab a quick bite before you are charged up or pay the one dollar per minute after you're done. You don't hear that whirring noise as the fans turn on and the transformers engage. It's simply quiet. The displays are better, too. There are 5 spots and unfortunately, some of the patrons to the local businesses don't get the whole EV charging station parking thing... or they're haters. But for the most part, I was able to get a spot the 5 or so times I've been here and the charging is really quick and quiet. Word of caution, the chargers are in the Baskin Robbins parking lot... So while you're car is charging, you might be gaining calories, as well.

I do enjoy knowing there's restaurants, grocery market, and other stores within walking distance to spend the time waiting for charging to complete. Baskin Robbin's is right next door for a quick ice cream stop. The north gate market is a few minutes walking for groceries, deli foods, and baked goods. There's a donut shop, Piara pizza, KFC, Carls Jr, Tacobell, Indian restaurant (was closed when we went), TC bakery, and Chinese deli. For nonfood stores there's a smoke shop and "dollar" store as well. Warning for late nighttime charging: At around 11:45pm, last year before Yelp made this searchable, me and another car were charging and suddenly a car pulled up blocking our way from moving forward. Someone came out to walk around and seemed to just take a look at the charging stations. But he went back into the car and they didn't move. The car stayed and it was just strange they're right in front of our cars. Good thing I still had time in my charging before idle fees would occur, they didn't leave until a police car came by the plaza but the police were actually on their way to a store in the plaza where more police cars arrived. Just a warning, probably only charge here in the daytime when everyone is around and places are open just to be safe.

There are 20 stalls with V3 chargers which support up to 250 kWh. These are not magic dock fitted. This location is convenient if you want a place to charge somewhat near the freeway. There are no direct amenities (like restrooms or shade) for the superchargers but you can visit any of the nearby chain restaurants for food and potentially ask to use the restroom.

And it used to be pretty busy with Teslas waiting their turn to charge up. Now there are 2 additional Superchargers nearby. The closest is 0.2 miles away near Chipotle and Crumbl (corner of Colima and Albatross), which helped ease the congestion. I still come here to charge up, because there weren't anyone else here charging. More available stalls to select from. Lighting is non-existent here, so illumination sources are from the two light poles closer to the mall. These Tesla Chargers are the older design, so does not have the more familiar and visible (at night) design we are more accustomed to in 2024. So might be a safety concern for some. Incidentally this mall parking lot was the spot where Doc Brown was gunned down by terrorists in Back To The Future. I had no clue the very first time I was at this mall to watch a movie. Anyway, it does what I need from this Tesla Charging Station, so 2 thumbs up from me.

For my car, it can charge between 120-180 kwh here. So I can get to that 85% SOC fast and drive on out of here and be respectful of my fellow EV owners. While you wait, and if you're hungry, you've got a Raising Canes and a McD nearby! If you charge at EA stations, then next station isn't too far away! You've got Covina/West Covina and San Dimas to the east and 2 Eosemead locations to the west. So plan your charging strategically!

Not only that, but there was no other cars charging when I arrived. It actually spooked me out a bit because it's a Saturday early afternoon and the charging rates aren't bad --just 45kWh. It's cheaper than the other stations in the vicinity. Well the amenities at the station is sketchy looking and trash overflowing didn't help perhaps. I wouldn't mind returning if I'm in the area again but wouldn't come here alone at night time.

When I arrived the strip was almost all empty and closed, renovations for the stores are currently in progress. There's a pupusaria, discount store, acupressure spa, and a market nearby. The lack of chargers working is why I'm hesitant on coming here more than the ones in Pasadena. Almost half the chargers are broken or start working then half way stop. It's hard to know if it's a good time to come by because it'll say two chargers are out but really 6 others are not working. You'll notice some of the cables are on the floor and some people taped "X" or wrote "Broke" as well. It helped a bit but really the charging stations should be maintained better, I feel like they've stayed broken every time I come here.
