Like many places I found it simply by walking past it, and also because I really wanted cup of tea and this place looked like it could do the job. While it would seem like your typical cafe the thing that really stood out were the comic book murals on the walls - pretty cool. The staff were also pretty nice, though in all honesty there price was pretty much what I have come to expect to pay in Sydney. Still, it was a pretty nice place, and reasonably quiet as well.

I was awaiting an audition at the Channel Ten building on Sanders Street one steamy afternoon and to make matters worse, I also had on my mind, the very pressing and very urgent 'Secret Santa' that we were doing at work. I can't tell you who I had, that would be breaking the rules and would spoil the fun, but I can tell you there was a $5 limit on what the gift could be. Walking down Harris Street I went into a few different shops, hoping against hope against wishes against fishes that I would find the ideal gift for my Kris Kringle (Pretty sure Kris Kringle's a rapper. A Christmas present wrapper!) (Editors Note: No.) Nearing the end of the road and having found nothing appropriate or suitable to buy, I began to lose hope and wandered into Cafe Stories to drown my miseries in burning hot coffee. What a horrible way to drown. I ordered a coffee and sat in the cafe observing the various illustrations around the place, reading the speech bubbles and feeling that sense of a cool that a cafe with a difference has. Posters of upcoming performances stuck to the windows and a front counter full of food and ingredients took up the rest of the space. I finished my coffee and made my way back out to the street, back to the gruelling task of finding that elusive $5 gift. The man on the cafe's wall said, "Who's that woman outside my house? I can't trust anyone" I don't actually know how that applies but I ended up getting my 'Secret Santa' person a Bold and the Beautiful mug from Coles. I'm a great gift buyer!

And when it comes to the decor, try not to worry about that, you're not there to judge the interior design - which is lucky really, because it's definitely lacking in a little character. I I haven't tried all of the stalls, as I've only recently discovered it, but there seems to be a pretty decent cross-section of Asian cuisines to choose from, although I can't vouch for the quality of all of them. My personal favourite is a little Japanese eatery called Kimama. Actaully, it's Kimama Kitchen Japanese Casual Dining to give it its full name, which is apt considering it's in a food court - you don't get much more casual than that. Although I wouldn't advise going there if you're in a rush. On my last visit I ordered the Karage Don ($9), basically fried chicken on a bed of rice topped with teriyaki mayo (there are other choices too), served with a bowl of miso. It was tasty and filled me up for the rest of the day, so passed my lunch test. I also recently tried one of the Chinese options (can't remember its name) and was given enough food to last two meals - so no complaints on the value there either!

I, for the life of me, could NOT get used to Zomato, so hopefully this'll just be one more review to help you out.) When we went on a weekend afternoon, the wait was actually okay. I've heard that people have waited over an hour just to get their gelato flower, and all I can say to that is YIKES. At the end of the day, it's only pretty looking gelato. It's delicious but not worth a wait longer than 20 minutes in my opinion. Now as for the ever famous gelato flower, they LIMIT what flavors you can order for the flower. They'll have about 20+ flavors in the case that you can order regular scoops of. But if you want the gelato flower, you have to pick your flavor(s) out of a pre-set menu of less than 10 flavors. Their gelato is very creamy, and they do have a bunch of different flavors like black sesame and young coconut! i-Creamy easily served me the prettiest looking gelato I've ever had, but there's definitely better and cheaper gelato places out there in Sydney.
