Since I'm a little irritated with my O2 service, I stopped by to see what someone else could do for me. When a bloke ('dude' or 'guy' in American) asked me if I needed help, I was a little surprised to see that yes, he did work for the store. Once I got past that shock, he asked what I was looking for and was able to make recommendations and offer some of Orange's solutions that might fit my needs. He was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I failed their credit check (because I haven't been the the UK long enough to show up on the systems). There is a 'bypass' system for such people, but I needed to have better proof of residency, such as a water or council bill. Perhaps I'll think ahead and bring those in next time.

I've always found the staff there very knowledgeable and attentive though, which I haven't found so much in the larger branch on the high street. I also managed to haggle on a deal here and they seem to have authority to allow this.

On the walls you can see the latest phones and deals and they also sell accessories such as memory cards and bluetooth headsets. The staff are really nice and will charge up your phone for you if you are on the orange network which comes in handy! You can do plenty in store like pay your bills or buy credit and there always seems to be someone ready to serve, no waiting time! They normally have catalogues to show you all the latest phones and the latest contract deals too which is very helpful if you don't have much time to stay and chat, they don't pressure you into buying anything you don't want either.

And I walked completely past Three. Mistake! They have some great values. For example, I went and bought a 1 GB a month dongle for the laptop so that I could surf on the train and suchlike. Orange charges £15 a month. I found out the day after that for the same £15 a month, Three gives you FIVE GB a month. Yes, five! Their signup process is also way easier than Orange, who wanted a bank statement or a utility bill to prove my address. Three does it with just a bank card. Thanks, Three. Love ya!

This store always has a big range to look over but I always seem to get lumbered with a newbie staff member who knows far less than I do and wastes my time by telling me all about the the latest features that I have no interest in. Their computer hook-up back to Vodafone HQ seems to work well and they can at least look up your account quickly. Please get some better staff training in place Vodafone.

It only has 3 downfalls. 1) Pricing structure, for 2nd hand hardware. I have no idea who sets their prices but in this store they quite often have 2nd hand hardware for more or the same money as the same item brand new from elsewhere. 2) Its way too cramped, they could have done with a bigger unit, or less stock and a bit more space. Forget wheelchair access or a pushchair. 3) Staffing, this place seams to open late and close early quite often due to staffing issues. Once open the store is often only manned by one or two people, which means ques normally form from people wanting to sell there items, which in turn makes the cramped store packed and unshoppable. However they do buy, sell and part exchange on most stock items which can be a nice way to unload all those old rubbish dvd's or console titles your friends wont buy ;)
